May i know about the durability of the 22ple coating?

Again...very subjective and depending on how well your maintenance regime is. On my personal car, I think it's still there (still shows signs of good beadings) on the top parts of vertical panels and also the front bumper after 3 years. The horizontal panels are dead (beadings still there but veryt weak/flat) at around 2 years after application.

Yeap there are many factors that contribute to the durability of the coating. But based on your comments, it seems to be quite durable for me. smile.gif

Just take note coating HELP for easier maintenance and dirt done SLOWLY providing that you do regular wash and top up with quick wax. Mine last 3 years plus and still going VERY strong on ALL panels biggrin.gif

Hi guys,

On Sunday morning get ONRing my ride after 2 weeks collected from the dealership. I use the Garry Dean method, not the 2 bucket as still not get grit guard. Afraid to use 2 bucket without GG as the dirt might stick back to the media and scratch the paint. I presoak the dirt, then wipe using microfiber. 11 pcs microfiber towel used. 5 is the blue 3M microfiber, 3 Mr DIY drying towel the towel so soft with one plush side, and another one side with short nap, it hold quite a lot of water, 3 pieces Ace Hardware cheapo microfiber.

blue 3M microfiber - for main use panel, fold into 8 as it big.
Mr DIY microfiber - panel, fold into 4 as it smaller, the soft plush side make me fall in love, it cheap summore RM5.30
Cheapo Ace Hardware microfiber - as it small and not plush enuff, only use for window.

I also bought the Opti-Mitt, but yet to use. Waiting for Grit Guard only will use 2 bucket method.

Any recommendation of any good microfiber for washing media? The blue 3M is good at final drying towel if you did not have waffle weave drying towel. Also redeem Bonuslink point from Shell on the spot redemption, a Synthetic Chamois Cloth, this is good drying cloth, just need to blot the water, or just glide without pressure it absorb so much water.

Later will buy the Cobra The Guzzler Waffle Weave Towel by Cobra for the final drying. As the car only 2 weeks old, will probably just do ONRing. Later after 90 days only will do proper wash and wax, probably during Chinese New Year holiday at parents place. Proper in the means of 2 bucket normal wash, claying, sealing(maybe using Perma Glass Polymer Sealant, care to recommend not so expensive sealant?) and waxing.

my next question is with this Rm300 to maybe Rm1000 worth of cloth...what will you get ? How about other detailing technique, skill or product brows.gif .... thumbup.gif thumbup.gif respect !

I would suggest you not to stock up so and too many....what shown on demo video is demo...with our currency it will cost you alot alot alot just one single item..and when you see RDS, swirl, mark on your paintwork you will think back is it worth to spent so much on microfiber...just like bathing you dun use towel just for face, one for hair, one for body right biggrin.gif

No teasing but IMHO only.

To me the shine/gloss is good, but looks depends on personal perspectives but I like it. Still like the looks of traditional wax better tho..... tongue.gif

Not sure which detailing centre uses the 22ple, maybe somebody else can chip in on that. I DIY my own cars and bought the product frm SG...a few years back it cost me close to rm350 for a 30ml bottle.

Thanks a lot. I like to DIY but worried about preparing the car before coating.

Haha, actually at first place bought the blue 3M 10pcs is to share among friends, but all FFK. Being in the store room for months, so after know about the Garry Dean method, so decide to use. Other MF at parents house is actually the accumulate MF from 5 years ago, but rarely use, only during long festives season (Hari Raya, Chinese New Year(as company force leave throughout the week)) use it to proper wash and wax my car at parents place. Now getting new ride, feel so 'sayang' the car as current car cost double the previous car, so decide to wash and care it by myself, so just use the remaining MF. For the drying towel, it in my wishlist for quite sometimes de, now only decide to go with it as this current car is gonna be wash by selected hands only (me, certain carwash or detailing center). Another factor that make me go ahead with self maintain the car is next year will move on to own house. Still high rise apartment, but with proper shaded parking. So I can spend my own sweet time to wash and maintain the car.

I do...I've used VX1, VX1 Pro, VM1 & VS1. What do you want to know? Ask away.....
The Bosch is good enough...good for what it's worth. Better machines are available but it'll cost you over RM500 (excluding pads).
Lake Country pads can get at Osren. Megs pad can get at Megs HQ at USJ or Klang, or their other branches. I also see them selling at ACE Hardware. Only here in LYN also got.
*
What better machines out there are available for the RM500+ budget that you mentioned?

Does Meguairs make 5.5" pads? Because the Bosch machine is 5", so I am guessing that using 5.5" pads would be ideal? As for LYN here got sell, where ar? I tried looking at Garage sales, but cannot find.

Yeah...for the Bosch, I like using the 5" ~ 5.5" pads too. But unfortunately Meguiars doesn't make 5.5" pads. The older version of their Soft Buff pads (W7006, W8006, W9006) are 6.5" and the one in current production the Soft Buff 2.0 pads are 7". If you're looking for 5.5" pads you'd need to look for other brands like Lake Country, Buff and Shine, 3M or Sonax. I kinda like the ones from Sonax cuz the foam are stiffer and more suitable for DA/Orbital machine use. There may be others but these are the ones that I know selling in Malaysia. You can try searching online for them.

The *around* RM500 machine I was talking about is a knock-off of the Ultramate (from Osren) or DAS 6 DA polisher that I had the opportunity to try. It's quite a decent machine (for a knock-off) and good enough for personal (DIY) use. I think somebody here bought it before...maybe the owner could chime in. Ultramate (which is the equivalent of DAS-6 Pro), if I'm not mistaken is selling for close to RM700 at Osren (Please somebody do correct me if I'm wrong cuz I haven't been 'window shopping' for detailing products for a while now).

+ gst = RM933

Price might have revised since this was so long ago.

If it's within 700 i would have gotten it.

Hi,

Meg's recently has their foam disc family of pads and they are made for DA use. I have the 5.5" pads.
You can contact www.meguiarsdirect.com.my/

These are slim profile pads, hence the 'foam disc' label.

Haha at least you know now smile.gif
I think it was early this year when Meg's release these pads. Locally, maybe 3 months back.
If I'm not mistaken, the pads are retailing at RM84 each.

Yes, it's 5".
The actual size is slightly larger than that, but the difference is minor.
