QUOTE(shaniandras2787 @ Oct 7 2014, 09:11 PM) Talking about pictures. These are the best i could get out of my camera. I feel so sorry to you after seeing the condition of the paint. That's really terrible.Well, i haven't seen MORE than holograms so i guess that's a consolation. Yeah, that Maximus guy suggested that compound polish is required (ie. 3 layer polish + 1 layer of wax). Ordinary 2 layers won't cut it anymore because the whole process has been ruined during the polishing procedure. The original detailer offered to fixed it for me but I am afraid of taking my car back to them again. Since they sucked the first time, they most probably sucked the second time and subject my car paint to another abuse by them, is just stupid. Hmm, how do they measure? Maybe i should ask this Maximus guy to measure it. I know for once they say Honda paints are very soft. Talking about orange peel. I have several stone chips on my front hood. Very very small. The black pain is already gone revealing a white base but after that disastrous polishing and waxing, one of the chips reveals orange base =( Is that bad? Do i need to take care of it? There's a paint thickness gauge that can measure your paint thickness. Yeah, like @MyWifeCar mentioned in the reply, a reputable detailer will usually measure your paint thickness prior to any detailing work to ensure the degree of correction work that's needed. Also yes, Japanese car paint is usually very soft, if I am not mistaken. This post has been edited by windskill: Oct 8 2014, 01:32 AM |

Just a question here. Is there any way to get this thing over the counter in supermarket/shop around us? Similar kind of applicator block is fine too.

QUOTE(gacktleong @ Feb 5 2015, 11:29 AM) Hi sifus, Not sure whether there's any decent DA below RM500. However, I would recommend Ultramate DA from Osren (which costs around 700-800 I think). Quite sufficient for normal use unless you are doing heavy correction.i plan to get an affordable DA or polisher. Any recommendation? Any chance to get <RM500? Ps: i am a totally new in doing this, previously done waxing use hand only. |

QUOTE(kumbang @ Feb 6 2015, 03:37 PM) @windskill, will this Ultramate DA from Osren be enough for light scratches & swirls? can i use my LC pads that i used for my rotary? Yeap, Ultramate DA is good enough to eliminate light scratches and swirls (So far I worked on Proton car and Toyota Corolla, it worked as expected. Tried BMW once, need quite some efforts as the paint is quite hard). And yes, you can use the LC pads that you used for your rotary, as long as it fits properly on the backing plate for DA.Btw, those DA units that can be attach to a driller by meguiar, does those help, if I'm on a tight budget? thanks in advance. |

QUOTE(Vince7419 @ Jun 21 2015, 12:02 AM) Hi all sifu, The swirl might be due to improper car wash method/rough applicator pad & cloths. There are many possibilities.I got my car 3 weeks ago from Toyota. I've done one session of wax since then. Today, I discover some swirls on my car hood and trunk surface. May I know how can I remove these swirls and any other way to prevent more swirls in the future? Thanks in advance for the advice. To prevent more swirls, make sure you use two-bucket system during car wash, use good quality cloths, etc. You can't 100% prevent swirls, but you can try to minimize the chance of inducing swirls to the lowest. To remove swirls, you can try to do light polishing first, then slowly increase the cut level if the current cutting level is not sufficient to remove swirls. Anyway, it all depends on the severity of the swirl. This post has been edited by windskill: Jun 21 2015, 02:35 PM |

QUOTE(Mojojojo19 @ Jul 15 2015, 12:16 PM) Hi everybody! Getting tree sap of mango tree on car paint is totally the worst nightmare you would ever want to get. The sap is kind of sticky and very difficult to remove, and it is very acidic! Luckily, I manage to use tar remover/tree sap remover to remove them. But you have to do it immediately before those stains get harden.I need some help with cleaning gunk on my car. The gunk: tree-sap from my neighbour's mango tree. The tree's branches have grown over to my house, where I park in front of my gate. While the guys that wash my car every two weeks can only remove the build up of the gunk, there is still stubborn residue. And I've noticed what looks like rust from where the old stains are!! eeek!!! I'm guessing I'll need to get the whole car polished in order to remove the stains. Was wondering if it will affect the paint job as my car is only 5 months old (MyVi in Cosmic Gold). Any and all suggestions are very much appreciated. Once it is hardened, I can't remove it anymore using tree sap remover. So, I think compound/polish on those spots should be sufficient enough to remove them. Affecting the paint job? Should be okay, don't worry. |

QUOTE(basilisk @ Oct 28 2015, 02:49 PM) sifu skalian, wana find out what is the best way ( or use wht product ) to clean the dark stain from plastic trims flowing down on the paint surface, very obvious on white car, normal car shampoo can't easily remove it. thx. Can try claying. If the stain can't be removed, a light polish should be sufficient =) |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Nov 30 2015, 10:34 AM) To me the shine/gloss is good, but looks depends on personal perspectives but I like it. Still like the looks of traditional wax better tho..... May i know about the durability of the 22ple coating? Not sure which detailing centre uses the 22ple, maybe somebody else can chip in on that. I DIY my own cars and bought the product frm SG...a few years back it cost me close to rm350 for a 30ml bottle. |

QUOTE(KrisMas @ Nov 30 2015, 11:18 AM) Again...very subjective and depending on how well your maintenance regime is. On my personal car, I think it's still there (still shows signs of good beadings) on the top parts of vertical panels and also the front bumper after 3 years. The horizontal panels are dead (beadings still there but veryt weak/flat) at around 2 years after application. Yeap there are many factors that contribute to the durability of the coating. But based on your comments, it seems to be quite durable for me. |

QUOTE(hbgoh57 @ Dec 14 2015, 02:05 PM) Called Gzox and they quoted rm350 and will require about 5hours. May I know what do you mean by "suck put water"? Haha.Another one is Hovenclean whereby they will actually come to your house. They actually spray some chemical and will suck put the water. Price is 250. Anyone tried before? Do you mean using hot water extractor? |

QUOTE(hbgoh57 @ Dec 14 2015, 02:21 PM) Sorry typo..suck out the water..they will basically spray some chemical, followed by brushing and final step they will suck out the substance with a machine which looks like a vacum cleaner to me..maybe the correct term for it is extractor That sounds OK to me. If the detailer has some previous work/proof to show it to you,and you feel satisfy, you may try it as well. And also GZOX is reputable detailer. You may expect them to deliver outstanding quality as well. |
