Last few years I go through fishboneken @ http://wetshine.net/ and KC2 @ http://thedetailers.blogspot.com/. I found it is amazing that one can detailed cars until that level. I also a car enthusiast. I love car as an art piece. So I would like to have shiny car, close to showroom condition car at all times. I prefer to stick to one car most of the time, so usually I aim to use a car as maximum time as possible. So to make sure I enjoy driving and owning the car, I wan to protect it to maximum.

Recently I upgrade my car. This is the first car with leather interior that I own. As far as we are concern, out climate which is hot and damp throughout the year are always being the foe for leathers upholstery. So starting from 1st week, I want to protect them to the best possible ways. So I bought Meguiar's Gold Class Leather Cleaner and Conditioner for leathery parts and Mother's Protectant for Vinyl, Rubber and Plastic parts.

I have one question though. As for Leather wrap steering wheel, can I use this Meguiar's Gold Class Leather Cleaner and Conditioner? Does it leave oily substance when cure? As the steering is the place where we hold to control the car, I a bit concern of this. Does it safe to us to the steering wheel?

Thanks bro sifu KrisMas, will try your advise.

This time as my colour of choice is white ride, it surely look dirty within a week or two, so might invest in ONR and ONR Wash and Wax (tempted for the carnauba).

So might use the ONR to wash fortnightly and ONR Wash and Wax monthly or 2 as currently live in low cost apartment so open space park only, later on move to proper housing but still apartment but with underground parking lot. So the best way is just No Rinse wash. Once back hometown only will proper detailing and waxing as parents house is landed with unlimited water source.

So before the ONRing the ride, I want to get rid of the loose dirt and grime beforehand. Can anybody point out where I can find this type of bottle and spray?

Or better be this Portable Hand Pump Water tank;

aeiou228 sorry if my sentence making u confused. Looking for manual hand pump becos live in low cost apartment, no access to flowing water and electric wall socket. That's why opt for ONR and ONRWW with this manual pump to pre-soak the dirt and grime before ONR them. Also easier to use the ONR in Quick Detailing dilution, just spray and wipes for a quick wash and coat.

Hi guys,

On Sunday morning get ONRing my ride after 2 weeks collected from the dealership. I use the Garry Dean method, not the 2 bucket as still not get grit guard. Afraid to use 2 bucket without GG as the dirt might stick back to the media and scratch the paint. I presoak the dirt, then wipe using microfiber. 11 pcs microfiber towel used. 5 is the blue 3M microfiber, 3 Mr DIY drying towel the towel so soft with one plush side, and another one side with short nap, it hold quite a lot of water, 3 pieces Ace Hardware cheapo microfiber.

blue 3M microfiber - for main use panel, fold into 8 as it big.
Mr DIY microfiber - panel, fold into 4 as it smaller, the soft plush side make me fall in love, it cheap summore RM5.30
Cheapo Ace Hardware microfiber - as it small and not plush enuff, only use for window.

I also bought the Opti-Mitt, but yet to use. Waiting for Grit Guard only will use 2 bucket method.

Any recommendation of any good microfiber for washing media? The blue 3M is good at final drying towel if you did not have waffle weave drying towel. Also redeem Bonuslink point from Shell on the spot redemption, a Synthetic Chamois Cloth, this is good drying cloth, just need to blot the water, or just glide without pressure it absorb so much water.

Later will buy the Cobra The Guzzler Waffle Weave Towel by Cobra for the final drying. As the car only 2 weeks old, will probably just do ONRing. Later after 90 days only will do proper wash and wax, probably during Chinese New Year holiday at parents place. Proper in the means of 2 bucket normal wash, claying, sealing(maybe using Perma Glass Polymer Sealant, care to recommend not so expensive sealant?) and waxing.

my next question is with this Rm300 to maybe Rm1000 worth of cloth...what will you get ? How about other detailing technique, skill or product  brows.gif .... thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  respect !

I would suggest you not to stock up so and too many....what shown on demo video is demo...with our currency it will cost you alot alot alot just one single item..and when you see RDS, swirl, mark on your paintwork you will think back is it worth to spent so much on microfiber...just like bathing you dun use towel just for face, one for hair, one for body right biggrin.gif

No teasing but IMHO only.

Haha, actually at first place bought the blue 3M 10pcs is to share among friends, but all FFK. Being in the store room for months, so after know about the Garry Dean method, so decide to use. Other MF at parents house is actually the accumulate MF from 5 years ago, but rarely use, only during long festives season (Hari Raya, Chinese New Year(as company force leave throughout the week)) use it to proper wash and wax my car at parents place. Now getting new ride, feel so 'sayang' the car as current car cost double the previous car, so decide to wash and care it by myself, so just use the remaining MF. For the drying towel, it in my wishlist for quite sometimes de, now only decide to go with it as this current car is gonna be wash by selected hands only (me, certain carwash or detailing center). Another factor that make me go ahead with self maintain the car is next year will move on to own house. Still high rise apartment, but with proper shaded parking. So I can spend my own sweet time to wash and maintain the car.

Guys, help me decide, planning to buy drying towel. Mostly for ONRing wash. Which is recommended?

★ 2pcs Meguiar’s Water Magnet Microfiber Drying Towel
★ Cobra Supreme Guzzler Waffle Weave, 20" x 40 "

Both price the same, only quantity of Meg is 2 instead of 1 Cobra.

How much is it?

Bro radiancephil, got emailed Osren regarding this towel, this is their reply;

MF-B-11 Microfiber Towel 60 x 180cm – RM37.10 /pc

Affordable for a humongous MF towel. Probably will get 1. Also enquire on the waffle towel from Osren;

MF-C-10 M/F Waffle Towel (Yellow) 40 x 60cm – RM50.90 / packet (2pcs)

Seems more cost saving than Cobra. 1 pcs Cobra cost 2 or in this case 3 pcs same purpose thing.

Hi guys,

I have a tafetta white ride. Planning to do so called detailing on my new car, now it aged 1 monts, probably going to do the so called detailing on CNY holiday at parents place. So this is step that I will take;
0. Presoak the car using EZ Jet Water Cannon soap dispenser.
1. Wash - please advise me one good wash solution for white car, probably want to strip off the predelivery wax (notice this by whitish residue on door lining rubber), had Glo dishwasher liquid in mind. But the dilution ratio bother me, is it the rule of thumb of 1oz for a gallon be ideal for this application? As for wash media, which one is ideal for this thorough wash? I have Opti-Mitt, Microfiber Chenille Wash Block (Sponge Wrap with Microfiber Chenille from AEON), Microfiber Towels or Sheepskin Wash Mitt? Will use 2 bucket method with Grit Guard in the rinse bucket.
2. Dry - Might blot using synthetic chamois, clear the remaining water using Cobra Supreme Guzzler Waffle Weave Towel.
3. Clay - 3M El Cheapo clay or Permaglass Clay Bar lubricate with QD(8Oz per Gallon) dilution of ONR.
3. Rinse with water
4. Dry - Might blot using synthetic chamois, clear the remaining water using Cobra Supreme Guzzler Waffle Weave Towel.
5. Seal - This is the one that need you guys advise, I'm not looking for expensive sealant such as Opti-seal, CQuartz or the likes. Maybe Perma Glass Polymer Sealant or should I opt for Soft99 Fusso Coat, the discussion can be read Soft 99 Fusso Coat - what a wax !?

user posted image
Perma Glass Polymer Sealant

user posted image
Soft99 Fusso Coat

For maintenance, I will do a ONR Rinseless Wash 2 weeks alternate with ONR Wash and Wax, maybe weekly wipedown with ONR Wash and Wax at QD Dilution. I live in apartment, to make proper wash will be PITA. Opt for rinseless wash. Maybe once in 3 or 4 months will do proper wash and clay at parents place.

For my rinseless wash this is all the tools I have, is it enough for a routine wash?

Wash liquid;
ONR Wash and Shine
ONR Wash and Wax

Wash Media;
MF Towels - Good for Garry Dean method
Opti-Mitt - Good for 2 Bucket Method
Sheepskin Wash Mitt - I think not suitable for Rinseless Wash

Drying Media;
user posted image
Synthetic Chamois - Blotting or Drag Method
Cobra Supreme Guzzler Waffle Weave - Wipe remaining streaks by the Chamois
MF Towels - Wipe remaining streaks by the Chamois

Tools;
Grit Guards

Is there anything I missed out or you guys opinion, do advise me. Newbie try to care for the perfect ride.

you are making simply thing complicated or maybe your long winded post bit confusing (for old ppl like me) haha...

1. EZ Jet Water Cannon IS a gimmick ! It only hold that 100-150ml soap...my suggestion is pre soap with a damp shampoo towel
2. Get a decent shampoo that doesn't have too strong cleaning power where it will strip off everything (else you need two different shampoo "$$" )....if you really want to strip off the wax 'more', use your kitchen dish washer...direct apply droplet, direct wash but quick rinse off.... Sheepskin Wash Mitt or Opti Mitt will do...rest use to wash rim or lower part
3. After rinse and before dry....perform claying as surface preparation
4. Now rinse clearly and dry with  Cobra Supreme Guzzler Waffle Weave Towel
5. After that rectify whether surface need mild polishing to remove light swirl - for me i will ignore since for sure it will be back
6. You can start apply sealant or wax
7. For maintenance, just regular wash with the CORRECT method/technique
8. For ONR i only use to very light dust and now part of household cleaning detergent.

Sifu g88, hahaha sorry to make things complicated, as the thread is Detailing, so might write it up in details.

1. EZ Jet Water Cannon IS a gimmick ! It only hold that 100-150ml soap...my suggestion is pre soap with a damp shampoo towel
I already bought this EZ Jet Water Cannon as my parents water line is quite slow. It does it's job as advertise, it does increase the water pressure to I can say 30% from just using direct pipeline water. For soap dispenser I agree with you. It not that soapy when use. But it does spit out a little bubbly solution.

Does the kitchen dish washer you mean the one that green color like the Glo or Sunlight brand? Direct apply means I just squeeze the liquid onto the panel directly without dilution?

3. - 4. Crystal Clear sir.

5. After that rectify whether surface need mild polishing to remove light swirl - for me i will ignore since for sure it will be back
Can only remove light scratch as no machine, just elbow grease T_T

6. - 8. Crystal Clear sir.

Planning to so call detailed my soon to be 3 months old car on CNY holiday. Plan to protect with Collinite 476s and add another layer of this Fusso Coat at the end of the holiday. I choose this 2 product is because of the durability as when come back to Klang Valley have no choice, need park in open space parking n only able to do No Rinse wash as live in low cost apartment without proper car wash bay. The high hydrophobic properties of this Fusso Coat hopefully will protect my car until the next 4 month(will do proper washing in long Raya holiday) and another 2 layer of this product.

Hi guys, got my waxes for my Tafetta White ride. Meguiars White Wax G6107, Collinite 476s and Soft99 Fusso Coat 12 Month White.
My plan is;

1. Wash - using dish soap Glo or Sunlight to remove predeliver wax from the dealership. Advise me which is best media to use to strip wax. Already have Optimitt and Sheepskin Mitt and MF clothes(last choice as plan on using it as buff media).
2. Clay - got the 3M and PermaGlass Clay bar. Advise me which claybar is the best for white paint. Will use ONR clay lube dilution as clay lube.
3. Dry - blot using Synthetic Chamois and Cobra Supreme Guzzler.
Skip Compound as new car, only marring and light swirls detected.
Attached Image
4. Polish - This making me confuse. Can I use the Meguiars White Wax G6107 as a polish material to remove the light swirls and marring? This is AIO with light abbrassive properties. Planning to HAND Polish with the Hex-logic pad or using applicator pad already enough? I already have Meguiars Even Coatâ„¢ Microfiber Applicator Pads and Meguiars Foam Applicator Pads. If using the Hex-logic pad is better, which one should I use? According to the descriptions is;
CODE

About the Orange Medium-Heavy Pad
The Orange Hex-Logic Medium-Heavy Cutting Pad is a firm, high density foam pad that is ideal for scratch and defect removal. This pad offers the correction of a typical compounding pad while at the same time allowing the polishing ability of a light cut foam pad. When used with heavier compounds, it will remove moderate swirls and scratches with little or no haze. It is an all around pad that will work on most light to moderate imperfections.

About the Black Finishing Pad
The Black Hex-Logic Finishing Pad is a super fine finishing pad that has no cut so it can apply thin, even coats of waxes, sealants and glazes. The super fine composition of the finishing pad is firm enough to withstand added pressure during final finishing to deliver a perfect result every time.

About the Blue Light Polishing/Finishing Pad
The Blue Light Polishing/Finishing Pad delivers a super fine finish for use with ultra fine polishes, glazes and light surface cleaners.

After polish with the Meguiars White Wax G6107, should I use IPA to prepare the surface for the Paste Wax application? Or just rewash with dish soap will do?

5. Wax - Also need advise from you guys. Since my car is white, thinking of using Soft99 Fusso Coat 12 Month White for the 1st layer, as thinking it might help to bring up my white color. After that layer it with the Collinite 476s. But the Hydrophobic properties of the Soft99 Fusso Coat making me thinking that will the Collinite 476s bond to the Soft99 Fusso Coat? Or it does not matter which is the first layer? Another option is Collinite 476s for 2 layer, then after 24hours coat it with the Soft99 Fusso Coat. Looking for durability and beading power as I live in low cost apartment and will open park most of the time. Hopefully the beading effect will make it easier for me to do maintenance wash of 2weeks using ONR and planning to top it of with Sonax BSD as bro Quazacolt review it as a good topper.

Hope that sifu KrisMas and all otais give advise for noob me.

Sifu g88 thanks for the POV. I so particular in this because this is the first time I wanna coat my soon to be 3 month old white car. That's why I plan to strip off everything before I apply coating/protection as per my liking to my beloved ride.

1. Wash > For long run, choose a decent quality shampoo
For maintenance wash will use ONR only as live in low cost apartment. Once in 4 month will do proper wash at parents place using proper car wash shampoo. Planning to get Megs Gold Class, or TW F21 Car Wash or Sonax.
2. Clay > clay lub can be use with shampoo (more concentrated)
Might consider. But already have ONR, so might as well use it for proper result no?
3. Surface preparation > Where polishing kick in...The White Wax seem design to removes light oxidation, contamination and Micro cleaners restore paint brightness ( to be not so much in polishing instead cleaning)
So is it I need to get the infamous Meguiars Ultimate Polish for the light swirls removal? Or Meguiars SwirlX? Or any cheaper alternative?
4. After Polish > Wash and dry again.
5. Apply Wax so protection. I would apply 476s as based coat. Use G6107 only if the surface got contaminated (dirt film and water mark), Fusso coat maybe use a weekly topper after car wash)
At first plan to do this. So this is the best way? Plan to use G6107 as the cleaning agent only, not using it as LSP.

Was told Fusso coat tend to 'attract' watermark after rain and not easy to be remove - you may wanna research more about it.
Do you mean this Soft99 Fusso Coat 12 Month 'attract' watermark after rain? Need to research more on this as it water repellant properties are among the best, logically watermark hardly etched into it. But that is my thinking, no experience on this.
