I have bought Mizu full synthetic engine oil and also Mizu engine oil treatment, plan for Saga BLM 55k km old next service.
I guess this Saga BLM has been serviced with budget workshop oil once a year over the years. Seems the engine valve gasket is leaking because of age, it is noisier and annoying when cold start.
I asked a foreman, he said don't use that oil treatment, he suggested using engine flush instead. I googled, found pro and con of doing either oil treatment or engine flush.
How to minimise the risks if I do both engine flush and oil treatment?
I thought to monitor (dipstick and noise) and change engine oil again in shorter time frame, maybe after 3 months (estimated 3000 km), maybe with better premium brand oil the next time, hopefully to improve the engine performance and reduce noise. Eventually can use back non premium brand oil.
Your foreman is good, oil treatment bring more harm than any good. Flushing, if read from website, can bring few positive things but only on certain scenario. Like previously the car had never put EO service on time, already had minor sludge issues or u just bought a used car and dont know if the previous owners did the oil change per interval or not. I only did one engine flushing when the car hit 230k km, where I bought it from shopee mall, bought it cz this is the only engine oil flushing that recommend to drive the car after putting it, but capped to 150km iirc. Tbh, nothing different felt in term of engine power, sound etc, as I really take care for the EO interval b4. Positive thing I noted is even running 2k km after that EO flushing and EO change, the current EO look still "clean". That about it.
Btw if the car is turbocharge engine stock, please don't use oil treatment
