Been exclusively using Toyota Fully Syn 10w40 (golden bottle) for 13 years now. Which I felt it was pretty okay

Just purchased MOTUL 8100 Power 5w30 for a change.

Contemplated over the Shell Helix Ultra Gen 3 10w40 for abit before pulling the trigger on MOTUL

We are not suppose to change the viscosity especially w40 to w30 after so many yrs

I forgot, but there will be problems.. Frictions, maybe oil leaks?

Same here, my camry recommendation using 5w30, but been using 5w40 previously and 10w40 currently.. For me get back to 5w30 definitely not a good idea for 22 years old car
My mechanic suggested 10w40 or 15w40 semi synthetic, if fully also can, but the sae must be around that

Mizu 10w40 Fully Synthetic engine oil

Already 8000km++ since last service
+ engine feels smoother and lighter just like after service
+ fuel consumption also good
+ no top up needed as the level remain at full level
+ engine sounds good
Overall highly recommended 👍🔥

Just done replacing the valve cover gasket at home this afternoon. The job should have taken about 90 minutes but end up spending 4 hours due to cleaning the sludge.

Run the car with very low engine oil level + prolong service and this is what you get.

Yes DIY. From ordering parts from China to installation . Cost me me less than rm23 including shipping.

I never use any oil treatment or engine flush on any of my car. This is the first time i see sludge over my car engine. Someone borrowed my car and never take care of it. Only about 1.5 litre of oil left to drain with 15k km usage.

To clean the sludge i spray it with degreaser then carb cleaner. A lot of rag was used of course.

This really a mess. Can clear up those sludge totally?
Or will you do more EO change more often to remove whatever left with new EO?
Does EO have some cleaning elements to clear those sludge?

Me nowadays thinking want to do frequent EO change since I can DIY now.
I see semi or full syn oil especially from Motion very cheap. Might as well do EO once every 3mths or so

Sludge is not really hard. It's soft to touch and lightly sticky. It can be easily wiped off with rags. I think those location soak in engine oil will be cleaned by fresh engine oil over time.

I believe making sure optimal engine oil level and 10k interval oil change should do good. I have been doing the practice on my other cars and no issue at all.

Here is my another DIY gasket project everything seems superb under my care.

I'm a mizu engine oil user, since it's cheap, I'll go for fully synthetic engine oil, change every 8000km, just to make sure my engine running smoothly and clean

Fully synthetic engine oil does have a cleaning element, if you change it every 8000km, your engine will be so clean

Noted, yea it's better that way cuz the mileage might not accurate as mostly the car just for a short distance and park most of the time, the best just service every 3 or 4 month

Never had experience with revenol but there is no official store for revenol in shopee, beware of fake engine oil

Buy from reputable seller or official store itself

Revenol may similar to liqui moly, well known engine oil

Please recommend engine oil for Saga BLM manual with 55k km old. I believe it was always using default budget engine oil any workshop has so far. I want to buy engine oil and filter online during sales and keep for its next service. Can change to any different types of engine oil anytime or have to completely empty old oil?

Recently I see leaking oil on the engine and checked online seems due to old gasket. I plan to service and change gasket in near future. I hope to get good engine oil that can protect this engine. Wonder if any specific engine oil is better to prevent leaking after service.

Thanks in advance.

Gasket leak due to deteriorated gasket material, so eventually it will happen doesn't matter the engine oil brand, viscosity. Iiwu, 5w30/ 0w30 fully synthetic buy from Shopee mall. I usually bought Mizu brand cz price and shopee mall factor, I dont have ball to purchase for normal seller or preferred seller, instead shopee mall only
