Previously bought Liqui Moly Special Tec AA 0w20 during Shopee sale.
Moving forward I'm thinking to get something cheaper like Shell Helix Ultra if it is ok to mix oil.

As long as same grade ex 0w20 liqui moly + shell 0w20, shouldn't be a problem

Please dont especially nowadays engine with turbocharge engine now. Many cons, harm than any good (not sure got one). If want splash money, buy more premium brand EO.

Avoid any treatment stuff for your car, any engine oil in the market already good enough, service on time

Hi, I got a 20 years weekend car
Would like to ask, how long can EO last before doing EO change? Can't use mileage as indicator cos will be low,

A year change once? Use semi or full syn?

years ago listened TraxxFM Autotech with Cik Mat, he mentioned can hold it to 1 year if use Fully Synthetic for car that low mileage/ not moving. But always start it warm up once weekly, cz if not start for too long can diminish the engine oil. Dont forget your tyre pressure if park too long.

If you do not warm up/drive it long enough to at least reach 90c temps, you're better off leaving it cold storage never start up.

Otherwise, You'll do more harm than good through fuel dilution.

No good

Most cars needs between 20-30 minutes of idling even in Malaysian weather to get to 90c

If you drive right away normally, you can cut that time down by at least 5 to 10 minutes+ so at least still need between 10-25 of driving to get 90c (operating temp, and hot enough to prevent fuel dilution)

Ya dilution worst fr engines with gdi esp the H 1.5T. last time Ketam always SC filled up to almost 4liters during the 1st 2yrs until they used pump EO system n always oil level passed max marks even less than 3mths usage n outside wrkshop also like to pour all in frm bottles. So by 6th yr using valve gasket gone but luckily not head gaskets like those frm US.
So since then even with my G10 now always make sure they do 3.6lits only

me normally will use it during weekend for trip.
driving it, anything from 30km to 60km on that day.
if for outstation, then it will be more than that for sure.

Me drive it for it to recharge the car battery as well too

me now not too sure want to change EO when and with Semi or Fully
last time fully and now it time to change again

Semi change every 7000km or every 3 month which ever come first
Fully change every 10 000km or every 6 month which ever come first

You need to use and drive the car regularly or at least twice a week or else better sell it rather keep it

just go with fully synthetic, reputable brands, can be gotten for cheap.
and for your application, can definitely be more value than mineral/semi

oil change between 6 months to 1 year is fine.
