Just curious of this brand cause my uncle used it for his last service. Don't see any reviews of it online. Only managed to find their webpage.
So far I've saw only tyre shops carrying this brand of engine oil.

Guys, I bought Shell Helix 5w40 from Lotus's shopee mall. Price is normal, nothing too cheap.

Surprisingly the oil was API SN Plus, not API SP. Because I'm pretty sure last year I bought from other seller, it already API SP.

So I'm like okay, maybe old stock. Then when I went to workshop to change oil, mechanic noted me that the engine oil does not have the aluminum foil seal under the bottle cap.

Wondering if anyone recently bought shell helix from Lotus having the same peculiarity. I understand that engine oil production might differ from batch to batch, but no seal under bottle cap just feel... weird.

One thing I noticed is that previously API SP Shell Helix Ultra 5w40 now became API SN Plus.

Last year same oil was imported by Shin Hing trading. Saw in Giant.

Norm cz the Tesco one are imported from other regions, usually European, Italy, Turkey are normally get. The European EO don't have plastic/aluminum seal.

Just change my engine oil to Caltex FS, while normally I just use the Honda service center FS.

Engine felt lighter to accelerate..

just bought SHU from Lotus also , importer is fasource and now it is made in german

previously is made in hong kong and year before that is italy

paid RM122 .

Anybody has experience mobil1 on shopee? I see prices ranging from 100+ to 200+ for the same weight. lol. I reckon some are fake but how wide spread are they?

Whats the quality comparison between Mobil Super 1000 15w40 Mineral vs Castrol GTX 15w40? I noticed the Castrol can be had for rm80-90 while Mobil goes over rm100.

Also I did recently made an enquiry at a spare parts shop where Mobils 15w40 Mineral sells for rm110 while the Mobil Semi Synthetic 10w40 sells for rm140. It would seem that Mobils semi synthetic only supersede their mineral by rm30, which is negligible if the semi synthetic does offer way more protection/durability. Is the semi synthetic worth it? And why would it just differ from their mineral grade by a mere rm30, which seems such a small difference.

Looks like Lotus is now selling Shell Helix HX8 5W30 at rm158.

The Ultra 5w40 is still priced at rm122 though.

Pay more for less! No thank you.

Wanna ask if anyone uses this particular oil, can't find much review...

bought 2 bottles last month, same made in german and no oil seal, not sure genuine or not. oil colour is not very dark, may b a imported oil or refill from barrel. oil in barrel is usually cheaper

bought recently from lotus shopee online, made in hk with oil seal. so depends on batches

The imported one as long as i remember did not come with oil seal. For color, it depends on regions u get. Been a shell helix from Tesco since years ago

Hi, sifus did anyone ever tried lotus's house brand fully synthetic EO? or dyno tab brand, saw these two in lotus in my area, and both prices are quite attractive, during sales, both a fully synthetic though. any opinions or thoughts can share?

Previously using Ravenol 5/40 for many years until few days back decided try a new oil. Prior to changing noticed steering and engine vibration during stops while in d gear. After changing the oil+LM otw home there were no more vibration. Was thinking maybe my engine mounting which was changed 4-5 yrs back were beginning to fail. Anyway this new oil seems to give a lighter “feel” not sure improvement in fuel consumption. Will observe and current mileage above 160k km…😂
