My Vios went to dealer to change 5w30 oil which I think is mineral.
They told me to come back after 10000km. Full Synthetic only has 5w40.
Can mineral last that long? Thinking of changing after 5000km outside garage, then 10000km go back to dealer again.

Thanks

What is the invoice item name? I thought should be semi synthetic for the 5W30.

Just not comfortable to drive for 10k interval. Usually, 5K or 1 years I change already.
Still under warranty so must follow their schedule.
But thinking of drain n fill oil outside when reach 5k.

Thanks

Good lor, IF you can afford to do that, why not. Good for the engine too, fresh EO every 5k km / 1year.. IF i can afford, i will do it to my car.

PSPS : Don't neglect transmission oil also a, rmmbr to do clutch bleeding ( for manual ) once in a while ( while changing transmission oil )

Guys, I'm thinking of Diy EO, using conventional/mineral oil for >10 years old car.

Requirement:
Genuine, Availability to purchase at most shop, better specs, and cheaper or moderately price ~Rm50-Rm60.
Grade 5W-30, 10W-30, 5W-40, 10W-40.

What do you guys recommend?
Will change EO ~5000Km. Advisable for conventional/mineral EO?

Ahhh. Let me rephrase. Any recommendations for a good conventional/mineral EO within the budget of ~Rm50-Rm60 for 4Liters
Kesian my wallet.

Nope mechanic didn't recommend.
As most engine can tolerate a slight different viscosity and by giving a few different grade, it's easier for all sifu that have brought and used the EO to recommend.

Shopee Bold/Mizu serious answer. Get FS since so cheap
They are really certified so at least better than buy outside get fake oil.
Or wait for Lotus sales.
