Hey guys, i have rooted my zenfone 6 using the demo root apk. Was previously on 0625 firmware and now they just released the 0715 firmware. Cannot be updated via ota. Cn update using abd sideload? Or do i habe to remove the demo root apk?

I have unrooted using the demo root apk. Tried both ota and from sd card using firmware and recovery prompted volume error and cant update. Also tired wiping cache before updating and prompted cache cannot be fully wiped.

I don't think Note 3 to Zen 6 is an upgrade though zen 6 is a very good phone.

The latest system firmware (1.15.40.35_20140715_3835) is now available for update via FOTA.

When we can get it from download site (for AP set) ?

Any Idea's or we can get it thru FOTA ?

Do they have any rugged casing for zenphone 4?

I think Nillkin Frosted Shield is as rugged as it gets. The Zenfone 4 is the kind where you pakai and buang if breaks

The batt is actually better after the update.

Mmm no. GPS lockon seems to be pretty snappy. I just went for a bike ride (10km yo) just a few hours ago and I didn't face any problems with it. I'm on the latest firmware for the Zenfone 4.

Ori new zenfone 5 batch will now come with 16gb internal memory.

All phones comes from a factory. If you read thru the prev thread, some of AP sets don't get earphone.

so ask the seller abt it whether its local or AP or whether it comes with earphone. If no earphone, maybe AP.

local Asus is 2GB ram if I'm not mistaken. A501CG comes with 2GB. I bought 1 for my wife but can't check right now. She's reading Quran on the phone at the moment and don't want to disturb her.

They also has the 2gb ram one.

why don't u buy directly from any other shops that carries the local sets instead of this guy if you were unsure of it? The set I bought comes with earphone but it cost me RM600 (includes SP + casing) and it was the early batch. I was lazy to scout around and just grab the first chance I got. Her friend bought at RM550 2 weeks after.

I dont know where got shop selling asus in kuchig thats why.the last time i go to phone shop which is yesterday not even one ahop has thats why

after updated to the latest firmware on last night, the gps seems better.
the zen6 camera really awesome compared to my previous s3 interm of pricing and value.

it can reduce the iso to 50 which others phone don't have and most importantly, it has depth field feature which i will use it alot.

for below 1k, you could get such great phone, no regret on it.

Mine AP set 2.0GHz/2 GB RAM/16GB can update via OTA

i am having problem restoring helium backups on Zenfone.

I backup on my Zenfone 5 last time no problem. Transfer over to Zenfone 6 then tried to restore but most of the time will hang halfway during restore. Worse, I try copy the xxx.ab file into computer, modify it so it is compatible with normal adb restore, then try to restore but have the same problem - the window will say restoring then just hang there forever.

anyone have any idea how to solve? a lot of my games save are inside!

Don't know lol. It just came by notification tell me new update is available. It is TW firmware with change log in Chinese language.

My AP set can auto update via OTA

maybe those with AP sets which can update OTA, pls let others know abt it. Provide details such as when u bought it or first few numbers of the serial number. Just to check the similarities.

My phone also same as first two quotes, 1st batch zenfone 5 high spec. No special setting by us, Just when new firmware is available, it will auto notify me

1st Batch ZF5 has 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM, RM599...
2nd Batch ZF5 has 2GB RAM, 8GB ROM, also RM599...
3rd and upcoming batch ZF5 has 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM, supposedly also RM599...

If wait a little longer perhaps Asus will release the most powerful variant of the ZF5 with 2.0 processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB ROM? Haha.

i'm using AP set ... no prob .. but can't update firmware thru OTA .. but some of our friends here can update automatically although using AP set ... don't know why ...

may be i have to wait till latest firmware can be downloaded from support page ... not a really big issue for me ...

Zen5 AP set high spec Taiwan TW ver user here.

My phone can update via OTA. New AP set is CN (China)ver, cannot update OTA. Maybe you need to change software to TW ver (Taiwan) for auto update OTA.

my first impression when holding this thing is, damnn this is a big phone..so solid too..
straight away auto-update to latest firmware
but idk if it just me, the battery drain quite fast (last from 5 pm to 11.30 pm..)even though already switch on the ultra power-saving mode..

switch off auto sync can get battery longer

zenfone 6 with 0715 battery life seems worst than 0625.
Those who find the speaker volume soft can try out the audio wizard. after adjusting it i find the speaker is much louder.

The "Ultra Power Saving" mode is lowering down screen brightness, browsing site and skype/contacts only. Not really gonna save much power one.. still need power saving apps or you automate to shut off wifi etc when you not using.

Does anyone have a camera flickering issue on zenfone 6? As can see on the picture attached below.

I haven't noticed any difference with or without power-saving mode on. I'm not sure what Asus did with its version but it doesn't seem to work.
