Guys, one more question, usually for wide angle lens, will you guys prefer better F stop like 2.8 rather than 4.0, 5.6 or features like Canon Image Stabilizer (IS)?

The reason I ask this is because I'm reading the comparison between Canon 10-18mm lense which was released 5 months ago and Tokina 11-16 F2.8 lense. There are pros and cons and giving the best buck, quite a number of people prefer canon because of the Image Stabilizer and much sharper photo though the Aperture is abit let down.

Hi, just a quick question.

i send my 2.5 years old Canon S100 to change the lens(FOC, due to manufacturing defect on the lens)

so when i went to collect at canon service center, I notice there is a dent on the corner of the camera, which wasn't there when i sent it in, so i assume is canon/their courier drop it.

My question is, what can i ask from canon for this issue ? what is the fair request? changing a whole casing or ?

I don't think EOS M2 is available in Malaysia yet. But you can get it from lelong.my.  EOS M2 is much better compared to EOS M especially on the AF part.
But I personally think that there are more room for improvement such as flip screen, EVF and better burst rate.

is Tokina AF 16-28mm f/2.8 good lens to invest?

Photokina is passed already.  No Full frame update happened then. 

Now my Tamron 17-50mm VC lens doesn't function anymore.  Lens Error Err 01.  Lens not able to communicate with body.   

What are the procedures to get this fixed?

Got the Canon 10-18mm, Man I so in love with this lense. So wide~~~~~~~~ fast and quiet. The physical does feel and look like a toy. @_@ Very plastic but still feel solid.

Next target, Sigma 30mm F1.4 Art lense. Still studying the choice between sigma 30mm F1.4 Art and Canon 50mm F1.4 and  Sigma 50mm F1.4.     

Base on those 3 lenses, their prices are quite similar. Of course canon lense is the cheapest among 3, then the 30mm and lastly 50mm. My friend said he's quite enjoy playing 30mm than 50mm as 30mm after mount it is 50mm. Its just whether I prefer tele or more wide.

Though canon lense cheap, but its bokeh is abit disappointment compare to the other 2. While I personally think 50mm Sigma has the best bokeh from all 3. But 30mm is kinda like a good spot range to take portrait and street photography.

do you really will notice the bokeh difference between the lenses? ask yourself. other than those pixel peeper or pro photographer that wants very smooth bokeh, most lenses will produce bokeh enough for a lot of us who is just hobbyist.

haha. using so many lens for so many years, i don't think i can give any answer when people ask about "how's the bokeh?"

my most probably response would be - "duh, you take photograph focus on subject or background?"

Yup, say only this that portrait lens.

It's damn funny how people who barely shoot and read a lot keep thinking portrait lens is 50mm / 85mm / 100mm, with some super wide aperture and even better if L lens.

It's exactly as what you said - "its the shooter whose make good use of the focal length".

So if anyone still thinks they need a telephoto, wide aperture, L-grade, prime lens - it's clear they don't know their stuff.

Ya, everyone has his/her own preference on selecting. It doesn't not always have to follow them. But they are informative and opinion based on the inquiries. Can be made it as reference and rethink in own perception, best is to experience ownself, and feel it. 

yeap, go out, shoot pictures, worry less about gears, post pictures ask for c&c, that's how you improve instead of thinking about gear all day. you asked about gear related questions which people gave reply already but if u keep asking them without any evidence in you really need it, people will get bored with u already. sometimes i feel guilty too when keep thinking about gear.

and that guy's reply is actually directed to u, but u agreed with his post pulak then u are doing what he is saying not good to do. 

just get what fits your budget, how u like it after trying it and u will enjoy shooting afterwards. considering too much only cause frustration that might affect your shooting experience. like last time even though many said the tamron 70-200 is quite bad with noisy motor and not so good build quality. but i still bought it because of the good price i got offered and i am not rich. end up after using it for 1 year. i created some  pictures that I myself really liked it.

start shooting with what you have or what you can get, enjoy from looking at the pictures not the gears

Hi sifus, I have a 600D (with SC of approx. 27500), at what price would be a good price to sell it away? I'd say the condition's still good with no fungus or dust inside.

yeahh, I have problem with mine too. It works intermittently and sometime it does focus but you can't take a shot. I was thinking of repairing it myself but not sure if there will be too much work involved. Anybody here tried repairing the unit themselves?

3 of them around the same price range for a 2nd hand lens. Which is the prefer lens?

I've always wanted to have 70D ever since last year, so basically I've saved up enough money to buy one. Selling my 600D might ease a little "damage". That's basically why.

Also, is it wise if I sell my 24-105mm f4L and buy the 18-135mm IS STM?

On IQ, I guess so. But as mingyuyu has said, the 18mm end will be more useful for crop sensor and I guess the long end also has extra 30mm. My other opinion is that with 24-105mm wide open, I still usually shoot at ISO 800 in low light situation. The f/5.6 at 135mm should probably make me go to ISO 1600, which is noisier indeed, but I think the shots will still be usable after noise reduction with Lightroom.
