A different depth of field? Duly noted.
Was thinking shouldnt use the tree as background for this one, and should get a shot for flipping the hair up as well.

how well are you in videography world? A6000 has advantage on supported AF lens, which give u a wonderful face detection on whole frame. as for manual focus lens, they take advantage on Peaking Mode.
a 0.95 is very shallow and requires a lotttttt of practice to master this lens.

but honestly, any combo of gear wouldnt make the real impact in videography... at some point you will require good 'stabilizing rig' and learn plenty of good post processing later. smile.gif and of coz a good directing in storyboard.

ok thank you..actually not a video like a film..haha..just a simple video..

top notch filter are, Sony Zeiss (hard to clean, easily scratch, prefect light transmission, boost micro contrast and saturation), Hoya HD (make sure it has HD word, easy to clean, scratch resistant, slightly weaker light transmission), B+W F-Pro, or XS-Pro Nano(xtraslim pro) filters B+W are very easy to clean and scratch resistant, high light transmission), rare occasion you will see Nikon Filters... Marumi have to find a good reliable source, too many fakes.. these are very pricey, but they really do their job well

recently there is a brand Zeiss pop up, not sure if its real or fakes... try do a little research.

other brands, many fakes claim Pro1D coating(from hoya), i tested many, either color cast, or light lost, or degrade quality... end up either go naked or B+W(end up all my lens using b+w)

Thanks for the suggestions notworthy.gif , for now i think B+W really caught my attention. will so some hunting this week for the best deal, cause they tend to jack up the price really high for filters

hello guys...i wanted to ask opinion regarding Sony A6000..i planning to try Mitakon 50mm f0.95 on it to making a videography..is it ok?
before the idea came,i was planning to take Canon 70D..can you give me a little idea and advice?thank you smile.gif

The Mitakon/ZhongYi Speedmaster 50mm F0.95 has a stepless, clickless aperture ring, making it ideal for videography. There's a guy who brings it in to Malaysia with 1 year warranty.

However, it is difficult to manually focus if the subject is moving, and if you plan to record a movie you'll need to have very accurate focus or it will be very annoying to watch.

A6000 is a really good camera, I even put it as the best today if you are looking at lightweight, great image quality, sturdy built quality, reasonable price and rich features.

Your main intention is to shoot video? What are the features most important for you? This is the first question you should ask yourself before picking a camera.

A6000 has reasonably good AF on video, good enough for daily leisure use. If you prefer to shoot manual focus, then peaking is useful tool in it too. Moire still exists, but much improved from older models. If you want best image, shoot 24/25p. Normally when shooting 50/60p, image quality drops. Image quality on video is pretty good. Some of the weakness is that it has no mic input and a rather weak codec. But if you are not that demanding, it's good enough. And furthermore, its still image quality is really good, rich color and nice dynamic range. As for audio, if you want good audio, no DSLR internal mic is good enough. You can always record audio separately with a audio recorder (ie. Zoom H1 is a good choice for low cost and high portability).

I never like Canon's image quality. I think the dynamic range is too weak on both still and video. However, the 70D has a better codec than the A6000. But a better codec doesn't mean better looking image quality. I still prefer the A6000 on this. However, the Canon 70D's hybrid AF system is currently the best in all DSLR on video, no competition. Silky smooth, camcorder-like.

I think one who used to manual focus has no problem doing it in video, I saw a lot of videos shot like that. But ya, F0.95 on APS-C is a challenge as the DOF is quite narrow.
I think the most difficult part when shooting video manual focus is camera shake. Does this lens has OSS? I think no right? That could be the major issue. Unless always shoot with a tripod or standing still.

You can also consider the just announced Sony A5100. The best part of this new camera is it has pro-grade video codec XAVC-S shooting at 50Mb/s first got it in their high-end A7S.
Wait a few weeks to see how reviews think about this new camera. It is few hundred cheaper than the A6000.

Also, the Olympus EM1 is close to getting some new features with an upcoming firmware update. You can also check that out as its in-camera 5-axis stabilization system is the best in camera history! Put any lens on it and you have that superb stabilization! You can shoot video handheld with an ease of mind. But for now, its current firmware has a rather weak video features. So everyone is eyeing on its new firmware coming this month.

To answer feathakim's question of what the Mitakon/ZhongYi Speedmaster 50mm F0.95 looks like on video, through the Sony A7S. Shot at F0.95 1/250s.

Yeah, no OSS. It's a manual focus lens with no chip, no focal length/aperture/focus distance is transmitted to the camera. Quite like the Samyangs and the non ZF2 Zeiss MF lenses!
