Sifus!
Im facing a dilemma here..
Im going down to Kedah from KL next week.
Estimated 850km for return trip.
Plus mileage now is already 150km.

I got one week of work left which will round up to 200km this week.

By this time i would have passed my 1k service.
SA told me SC would forfeit my 1k service.
But i got no choice but to go for the kedah trip.

Please advise..  doh.gif  doh.gif
*
please inform your SA first before u go for your trip. It's ok as long as dont over extremely..

if 200km+850km = 1050km only.. its ok.. coz my case, i exceed 1000km too near to around 1150km.. still ok.. as long as u are not go to 2000km only go 1000km service.. there is no statement must go service at 1000km accurately.. if that SA cannot help, go other service centre.. no need let that service centre earn money..

hmm.. civic down to preve.. save a lot of.. at least 40k.. i think listen to ur gf quite good suggestion... so far didnt heard people said got gearbox problem.. between these 2 cars, i would say leg room in preve is better than new civic. but overall civic giving better driving feelings.. but more or less same.. just civic refinement better a bit.. in msia, due to tax, civic price is higher than preve a lot.. so far with Preve Premium 73k pricing vs civic 118k~138k, preve consider a good choice too..

My recent car journey is similar to yours (except no GF but wife).

I have just replaced my 13 yrs old Wira with Preve Premiun last week. Overall, I will give it an 8 out of 10. Power and stability are my 2 main likes. Spacious interior.

Dislikes are:
* hard landing on road hump
* engine a bit loud (but this is European design where they prefer some noise from the engine. Japanese design prefers a quiet engine)
* high back limiting back viewing on the mirror
* ?

On your question on the gearbox, no comment. Sorry.

Cheerio.

P/S On getting an imported car vs Preve, I did some price comparisons (M'sia vs overseas). About 30% of what one pays in M'sia for an imported car is tax. My frugal brain cells complained that I get nothing for that additional 30% price, no extra features in the car, just as tax. So for the same price as a basic imported car, one can get Preve Premium with MANY added features! E.g. air bags, GPS, turbo, etc etc.

Good luck!

agreed with your last.. for me, car is more or less same.. nowadays cars build consider very good ady compare with old generation wira, saga, iswara.. no complaints ady.. 30%?! no import and duty tax more than 50% already..

really not worth to pay nothing. unless we are rich guy, every month got around 10k income. then i dont mind for that.. but if not, i will choose the best deal.

* engine oil filter
* drain plug gasket

Stated recommended items as:

What are these 3 items and costs?

Thanks.

top up for semi or fully EO maybe? Syntium 3k....very good, car not as heavy as syn 1k (3k RM 219, 5k & 7k RM250)

Engine treatment - Prevoc member recommend me Nano Extreme WS2...but it is a coating instead of treatment(maybe same?? Not so sure about the different) DONT USE X1R. Previously they found out that X1R engine treatment that SC normally sell accumulate sludge. Detail refer to photo

W/S washer RM5.70 (Sri Kembangan Apple auto)

Battery protector - Are u referring to the red cover ? Sorry sweat.gif

Asked the head of service when I picked up my Preve. He says they don't use vouchers there. Everything is recorded in Proton network. I can go to any Proton SC to do my servicing.

Many thanks for the VIP infor on X1R! You sure have an inside hand on their troubleshooting findings. Good.

What is engine treatment? Add another oil to the motor oil?

What is meant by s/wash (wiper)? Clean the wiper?

On battery protector, I think they are referring to a plastic O-ring which they insert into the terminal first and then put on the clamp. Correct me if I am wrong here. That should minimise electrical leakages from the battery and thus improve the battery life. Why didn't Proton put that in as standard package? Maybe not 100% required/effective? Ha.
