Guys, for Hakone, I don't think I will take Romancecar due to budget constraint. So I will take the normal Odakyu Line Express from Shinjuku and get down at Odawara. That's possible right? I saw Tokaido Line also goes to Odawara. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I want to purchase the free pass but not sure if I should purchase from Shinjuku station or Odawara? http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2358_008.html This link shows Purchased inside the free area (e.g. Odawara Station) 4000 yen vs 5140 yen at Shinjuku station. Your guidance is very much appreciated.

If you purchase the Hakone Pass at Shinjuku St, then the fare is inclusive of the Odakyu railway. If you use your JR pass for Kodama to Odawara, then get the Hakone Pass at Odawara. Hi all,
I'm just wondering if I'm arriving at Haneda at 10:30pm, is one hour enough for me to get pass customs, collect luggage n buy new suica card n board a train by 11:30pm? I need to get to Shibuya Station.
As I've checked at hyperdia, I can still make it to Shibuya if I board a train at at 12am from Haneda to Shinigawa then to Osaki and then Shibuya but this is like my really final train which I really hope to avoid. Worst case I need to catch a taxi from Shinigawa to Shibuya.
Or should I just save the trouble (and the crazy woman look dragging the luggage to catch the trains) and just board the Airport Limousine directly?
Trying to figure out if I can save 1500Y (x2 pax) from taking the bus...

But no one here has mentioned anything about successfully catching the trains when arriving by AA at 10:30pm. Mostly just slept at the airport. I've already booked my accommodation at Shibuya, so I need to get there no matter what

hey everyone, i was wondering if i were to travel to Tokyo on June. would it be a good month?
based on pricing during that season(month) for accommodation and such.
what is the usual budget just to travel to Tokyo from KL without going with a tour and just walking about ourselves? more of a "backpack"-ish trip.

If you had googled around, you would have found out that June is a raining season. If you are ok with the rain, then should be no problem.

I've already booked my accommodation at Shibuya, so I need to get there no matter what Actually I did manage to get the luggage (landed around 10:30 PM), check out customs, buy Suica card (even played around with the machine to get familiarised with it) and board the train at 11:30 PM as I already have a hotel booking at Akihabara. So sleeping at the airport is out of the question. During my time, the customs clearance was smooth even though the flight was full. This was in February 2014. Plan your train route using hyperdia to see if it's feasible to reach your destination.

QUOTE(michlove @ Jan 5 2015, 10:08 AM) omg! i'm going this Thursday! Pray that the weather is better then Came back from Kyoto last week. Was a last minute trip and was lucky to get a hotel and also shinkansen, a very early shinkansen though as its full with ppl balik kampung. Was lucky that I miss the snow storm. Went to Kyoto during the Holidays and it was really jam pack with tourist especially the buses. At Kyoto station, you can see lots of people quieing to take buses. It will be better to take train as well, cause roads were jam as well......took about 20mins just to leave the vincinity of Kyoto Station.
