regarding the radio sound suddenly increase or decrease, there is only 1 solution....
"change to another HU if you cant live with it."

I have been complaint to SC, and SC took my unit to KL technical dept for checking, after 2weeks come back they said "this is the feature and not defect"
it is due to sometime reception poor abit, the unit auto decrease the sound, when reception ok, the sound back to normal volume.

regarding the radio sound suddenly increase or decrease, there is only 1 solution....
"change to another HU if you cant live with it."

I have been complaint to SC, and SC took my unit to KL technical dept for checking, after 2weeks come back they said "this is the feature and not defect"
it is due to sometime reception poor abit, the unit auto decrease the sound, when reception ok, the sound back to normal volume.

thanks for the info bro. looks like i have to live with it d.... hahahaha....

Its a built in feature....

The HU have circuitry that detects static (tze tze) sounds during reception, and it will reduce the treble to mask the static noise...

This will make the sound suddenly become "dull" as it loses clarity, and when the static is gone, the clarity returns, thus the sound becomes sharper again...

The other HU does not mask the static noise, so you will here the static but u dont lose the clarity....

If you drive in KL or arnd tall buildings, you will experience this with the Clarion (the irony) HU.... as there are many blind spots.... really listen to the reception and compare the static noise on the Clarion vs other HU...

And, as always, being a Proton, sound = performance.... thus CHANGE THE HU.... thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

But this hill is much steeper than Genting . I tot Proton would answer like this " We will change your engine to a turbocharged CFE unit with 205NM of torque to enable you to climb the hill easier " thumbup.gif

This year Chinese New Year I drove my Inspira MT there too. Before I went there, I tightened my handbrake to 1 click to full stop at 10% gradient hill. I went Thean Hou Temple, traffic was very jammed already, I saw an old KE70 Corolla roll back like shit. The driver tried so many times to move forward but not successful.. Damn scary...Lucky I not behind him. doh.gif

After I got stucked at the hill , I pull handbrake. 1 click. I release brake pedal slowly, still roll back man...Pull harder, 1 more click, still roll. 3rd click only stopped completely. doh.gif Do multiple times only can reach the parking lot.

That place, got some soh xxi young drivers still follow close anyhow despite how steep the hill is.

As steep as it is, Myvi also can go up, and the mighty Toyota Veeyos also no problem. How la? Proton wannabe world class car...

Disc brakes usually include a part called a wear indicator. A wear indicator is a small piece of metal attached to the brake pad that contacts the brake rotor when the pad material has been worn down to a certain level. When the wear indicator grinds against the rotor, it makes a squealing noise as you apply the brakes. This noise is a signal which tells you it's time to have your brakes examined. smile.gif

for my sentra case (also japanese brake pads i reckon), as it's current pad material is almost worn down to minimum limit (haven't trigger the wear indicator yet) , it does fade very easily and have smoke/bad braking smell if i took the car for spirited driving whistling.gif

few times i arrived on site the guard told me "eh bang, ada asap la kat tayar sana"

If brake pad too thin, wear indicator will contact with rotor and it will make noise everytime you brake.
If noise only heard when you brake hard, that could be something else... check your rotor surface first. If you're free, remove brake pad and inspect it too laugh.gif

My car's battery was totally flat just now without any symptoms. The original battery from Proton seems can only last me about 15 months.

Manage to replace the battery from a spare parts shop nearby. Will the engine timing, tuning or any setting reset or need to reconfigure? Just found out my reserve camera not working sad.gif . Anything else that i can check else have to send back to Proton SC.

PS: K3 mapping will reset or run or not after changed battery? just to confirm again although i heard the mapping should proved and wont reset if u changed battery. biggrin.gif

letme ask you hah, if you buy a ford focus, or honda civic, or toyota altis, VW Jetta etc

would you service outside or bring back to SC?
*
I will evaluating the same, if the car goes well in certain period (a year or 2) then I will drop it to external service center too, well couldn't say if you service in SC then u got no worry at all mah, most of the time can hear ppl say SC ppl done a lot of mistake too, in many way of concern there is good or bad also lahh, no 100% sure good geh..

My personal thinking lol sweat.gif

Cannot find this part number from Akebono website. They listed ACT866 for Lancer. The picture from Akebono website looks a bit different compared to our stock pad. Our stock pad is double slotted while ACT866 is single slotted.

davidke20 still very inconclusive... the couple of times i release throttle, it still has the sound, however as the speed drops drastically it reaches <160 and the sound goes away.

karak down hill can test easier... however the sound still persisted for the duration until it closes 160kph... (i released throttle from 190)

gonna try a few things the next time i get to test again

Eh no la as you saw on previous post, went up Genting anyways with friends lol

But then again, the air intake would still be drawing some air despite full throttle release right?

Ask u do 160 above sudden lift off, so you can hear if the closure of totobodi will make the sound different. If it is from the airbox, regardless how much you close your totobodi, the sound sure will differ geh as if you differing the frequency plate of the whistle whistling.gif So, full toto and shut toto doesn't make even a bit different on the sound, so which means it's not related then whistling.gif

Attached Image
This mirror has 2 sensor, first sensor is facing the road to sensor day/night time. Second sensor is facing the rear to sensor strong light from rear.

I noticed that my original rear view mirror is using camlock mount:
Attached Image
If I'm not mistaken, original Lancer windscreen is using wedge mount. Proton windscreen use camlock mount... those with original Lancer windscreen can help me to confirm. smile.gif

However, due to being cheapskate, I sourced for cheapest option so I bought a wedge mount mirror and a converter adapter:
Attached Image

Being cheapskate has a price to pay sad.gif
Unfortunately the converter adapter does not fit just like that. I have to saw off the corner of it due to the RLS sensor blocking the way and also have to trim the inside in order to mount it - you got to have proper tools to do it because the whole adapter is made of solid steel. flex.gif
Here is what it looks like after fitting the adapter:
Attached Image

Now the wiring part. The auto-dimming mirror that I got is the most basic version, means it doesn't come with other fancy features like compass, temperature, map light, homelink, etc...
So only need to connect 2 wires, one for +12V and another for ground. For the +12V, I'm tapping the power from accessory socket, as shown by the "red circle" in the picture below. For ground, I simply connect to the closest metal body I can find, "white circle" in the picture below:
Attached Image

Finally here is the result:
Attached Image
The mirror hasn't dim yet... once dim the color will change to dark green.

This round they said must use Full Syn oil if want to service every 10k. Semi oil must service every 5k. Got no choice to use full syn coz do not want to return so often sad.gif

Need to clock 1000km first then only go for 1st service.
If you're getting a new car, the odometer shouldn't register >100km of mileage. I got mine in 2013 but it's a 2012 car, the odometer only showing <20km if I remember correctly.

If you put semi oil then they will charge you additional RM48 to add the X1R. Fully syn oil did not add the X1R.
The 1k and 10k service are the same. Just change oil and Mitsu oil filter. Lastime I purposely put Proton oil filter for 5k service which did it outside and after that only found out they use Mitsu oil filter instead.

Depends on how you wanna do it .

Non-ori ABS EVO X spoiler alone is around RM650 with paint.

For bodykit, there are 2 routes that you can take. Evo X fender is different from Lancer/Inspira. Wider abit, so original Evo X front bumper wont fit the Inspira unless you change the fender as well.

Option 2 is to use a customized non-ori Evo X bumper which fits the Inspira/Lancer fender. This thing can be easily found.

Evo bumper also got many types. Got FQ400 , got V1, V2 , V3 for different revisions.

Front bumper no idea. But Front , Rear bumper + side skirting+ Mitsu badge + spoiler+ paint+ misc around RM4k can get if I not mistaken. Maybe abit more coz the fog lamp also have to change. Evo X one is different .

Audio and reverse cam no idea.

The Evo X steering abit difficult to get. Last I saw was RM2k include the Audio control button and cruise control without the airbag.

What you mean by front light switch ??? I don't get it.

I notice that Proton will find any chance to earn more money(Chop us) to put unnecessary product into your car like the X1R additive or the aircon anti-bac.

U went to Honda and Toyota SC which do not add these stuff and cheaper than Proton for normal service.

Cheapskate edition :

I guess it's about time that 20% lala owners are going to renew their roadtax. I believe some of them already did.

As for me, also 20% lala owner, roadtax gonna expire next month. So i got some confusion regarding sum insured. How much should i put? How much u guys insured ur car.

Hope all sifus can give some idea. Sorry if this is super noob question.

Thanks.

No, for "cat back" proton selling around RM1400 or RM1600 sometings. hmm.gif
Normally we could get a full SS piping for RM200 or less, middle box also full SS RM400 or less.

Even thought the price is reasonable for a standard product, but that price I can change about 2-3 times of normal product and can last longer than it tongue.gif

FYI, HKS middle box only cost RM1200++ brows.gif

But I plan to change to full SS and budget around RM600 biggrin.gif

The 1k and 10k service are the same. Just change oil and Mitsu oil filter. Lastime I purposely put Proton oil filter for 5k service which did it outside and after that only found out they use Mitsu oil filter instead.

QUOTE(tychong @ Jun 19 2014, 11:37 AM)
They just put it without asking me and only notice it when saw the bill. Lazy to argue with them since already put it. This is Proton Edar service center.

QUOTE(tychong @ Jun 19 2014, 12:14 PM)
I notice that Proton will find any chance to earn more money(Chop us) to put unnecessary product into your car like the X1R additive or the aircon anti-bac.

U went to Honda and Toyota SC which do not add these stuff and cheaper than Proton for normal service.
*
ya, the SC i went they only got 1 EO, no choice for you to choose, and they add the 0.3litre EO charged me 1litre price and they refuse to give me anything left, that's why I don't wanna let them service after the free labour is over, I rather bear the warranty my own, but you might think my taught is wrong geh.. rolleyes.gif

My SC even give back me the empty bottle to prove they already pour in the oil rclxm9.gif

Last time I bring 3 bottle manual gear oil to there they also return half bottle and said can use next time smile.gif

ya, R3 catback expensive which need RM1672 after 20% discount. the pipping that you plan to go is using larger diameter right? check around net seeing what about 2'5", 3" diameter ... but after changed sound will increase right?
QUOTE(mytmnet @ Jun 19 2014, 03:36 PM)
No, for "cat back" proton selling around RM1400 or RM1600 sometings. hmm.gif
Normally we could get a full SS piping for RM200 or less, middle box also full SS RM400 or less.

Even thought the price is reasonable for a standard product, but that price I can change about 2-3 times of normal product and can last longer than it tongue.gif

FYI, HKS middle box only cost RM1200++  brows.gif

But I plan to change to full SS and budget around RM600 biggrin.gif

will no user larger diameter, remain the stock size.
HKS test report show no more power gain even using the larger diameter.

Sound will increase as more air to flow but how much based on model you use biggrin.gif
Use straight one sure wake up whole street at night tongue.gif

I think I will remain stock look and changed to SS only.

Hi thanks for the useful info.
Any suggestion which shop around kl that I can get it done?
Maybe steering I heard there is a cheaper option of just changing the horn panel, any idea how much?
Front light switch i mean the headlamp level switch.

There are many shops that does this conversion. You go mudah.myalso can find so many...I am no salesman here..So wont recommend particular 1 shop.

Airbag cover is it?? You can only do like Lancer steering only. Around ~RM200 I think.

Evo steering is totally different from Lancer steering.

Headlamp levelling switch must also see u got the provided wire or not.. Inspira with serial number below 14k will have.. Above that wiring no more.

Maybe nowadays the spoiler is cheaper due to mass production. But then, do not ever take fibre ones. They crack very easily. Especially if u always go ah neh car wash, they close your boot by holding your spoiler and slam rear bonet to close. In the market these days, there are 2 types of replica Evo X spoiler, 1 type comes with 3 pieces total, another type is 1 piece... Actually the 3 pieces one are better.

If they tell you is PU ones also is either fake or they wanna cheat you. IF ducktail spoiler like the R3 ones or 2.0P OEM ones, then can use PU coz the whole thing is sticking to the car body. LGT and Evo ones with 2 stands holding a bar cannot use PU. Under hot sun, after sometime the spoiler can become "U" shape.

Ok , tell u first. If you wanna install LGT spoiler, each side of the bonet must drill 2 holes , if Evo X one, 3 holes per side.

If you going for LGT one, go find the 2nd hand LGT original ones, those are the best quality ones. Around RM300+ only

Fiber is the cheapest of the cheap material for bodykit... So you roughly know wat will be the quality like...

Serial number see your windscreen or see your car geran.

car geran got something like:

no casis: PL1CY4Axxxxxxxxxx .... U only see the last 5 digits.

Not PU not good. Its just tat not suitable for our spoiler use. PU is good to make skirting since not so rigid. Not easy to crack. Body repair shops just heat up the dent area and push outwards only.

Bodykits better opt for PU or PP. LGT and Evo spoiler choose ABS .

Ori spoiler LGT is around tht price. But fitting abit expensive though. I'm expecting around RM150 only with paint.

Owner of Rainbow KL is Robert. One of the Mitsubishi stockist. His stuffs are not cheap , bear in mind. His 2 kiddo workers are not up to par actually, in terms of workmanship.

You might want to compare price with RainbowCen Ojan ( u can dig from FB) first as a wise consumer.

I am not promoting anyone but I was previous customer of Rainbow KL.

rule of thumb.. any new car .. first 3 years is the most kau kau one..

if u sell RM5k cheaper.. ppl will tell u .. i topup 5k buy new one better.. less headache .. monthly extra a bit only.. warranty 3 years..

if u sell RM10k cheaper.. also ppl says same thing .. last year car can get 7k discount.. apasal wan 2nd hand pakai 1 year car ?

20k .. around there la.. u should be able to find buyer

*
i heard ori Evo X front bumper can fit.. but need to "monifit" a bit.. as for ori rear monifit also cannot fit..

Hi All,

I just bought 2nd hand Inspira from my Aunt, Problem now she only have the spare key, that is not with remote. Any advice where / how can I get the duplicate key including the remote and immobilizer? Also what's the price range?

Thank you in advance.

Since someone asked about , can i do the Remove Key sign. So allow me to explain ..

some of you might think it is COOL .. but to me it is actually kind of annoying .. and a bit stupid tongue.gif

why ?

First of all .. this feature is actually build for Keyless Operation System (KOS) and not the normal Keyless Entry System.

It is for

Not for
user posted image

WHY ??

okay, first of all .. with KOS, you do not have to remove the key physically from your pocket or handbag to start the car. The key just have to be inside the vehicle and it shall be able to start. Unlike the conventional key that u need to use it to physically start the car.

BUT .. when KOS key run out of battery ...

user posted image ..

it will still work until the battery flat .. so you have to do the following to start the car ..

user posted image

because you are used to NO NEED KEYS to start the car, however when the KOS battery dead, you have to use the physical key to start it, so people tense to forget to remove the key later when u switch off the engine. That is why this REMOVE KEY feature are build into the system.

where else for normal key you will obviously remove the key once you switch off, or even when you try to lock the car you will find your remote to press already. (KOS you only required to press the door switch to lock the door.. if the key if left inside the vehicle.. it wont allow to lock and alarm will sound.)

ok now for those Still think it is COOL whistling.gif ..
This will make u reconsider ..

Ignition key hole have total of 4 position ... LOCK -> OFF-> ACC -> START .. once start it will stay at ACC. Be remind, when this feature REMOVE KEY is enabled, whenever your key is in ... other than the ACC and START, and the Driver door or front passenger door is open .. it will make noise.. very noisy .. yup .. and if you feel like juz wait for someone in the car with the door open a bit .. it make noise..
if you wan do install something in your car and leave the key in the ignition so that you can turn it on to test easily.. it make noise..

Your call .. to me is bloody annoying and useless... coz you will need the key to lock the car as well. so wont forget ..

but some ppl might find it COOL .. stuff like UNLOCK the car then only press the boot button with they physical key to unlock might be COOL eh ? tongue.gif

Oya .. forget to add ..

Can i do it ?

of coz i can .. but i will explain the pros and cons ..
unlike putting 1.8 map to 2.0 engine and blame the knock on the fuel instead .. tongue.gif

infact the default setting for the REMOVE KEY pairs with both front door either one open will make noise.. (warning .. damn annoying one)
I can set it to DRIVER only .

Heck with it .. even my KOS i dont enable this feature

Try my solution, will solve it..just find something at jam in that hole, then no sound d. It is not the rubber lining. It is the door and the side mirror

highway/straight road 180 nothing special, no initial d lol sweat.gif

tires haven't botak, just rotated around 7k km.
and i've driven more aggressively downhill, cooked the pads over 350c also never fade.
more relaxed driving (road still wet btw) like i did on the video would never ever fade the pads unless they are really thinned/almost finish then that's understandable.

yea it did intervened once during downhill... bad habit on letting my tail swing out during touge...
*most* of the time it doesn't activate, but in this case it did even though the situation was rather controlled and speed wasn't really that fast.

the ultimate goal is still to never have the system intervening at all while driving/cornering as fast as i could laugh.gif

camera used was a go pro rip off, SJ4000 from foxoffer.com
rm3xx vs over rm1k for original go pro hehe

With ASC at your back pocket, you have extra margin of error laugh.gif
How's the wear on your CC5? Mine wear out pretty quick considering low mileage and I don't drive fast. The rubber just "peeled" off on some part of the threads. Really bad quality.
The camera looks like a good deal... will research more on it nod.gif

true i guess lol... a faster/better way to train is to off asc altogether, although on public roads, i just don't feel safe doing it. i mean, already spent the money to install it, might as well leave it on right? lol

for my cc5, about 7k km already 20-30% left till TWI... damn fast wear sweat.gif
they rotated to the rear already, and the front that's supposedly looking ok, already peeled in just one genting run last 2 ish weeks ago.

my picture also showed on the peeling sad.gif

actually i just keep on low gear (mostly sit on 2 being lazy) only lol... not really whacking it hard to upshift 3rd or even 4th then downshift heel toe *coughlikeinitialdlorhcough*

got few longer stretches can go 4th if you don't wanna push red lines, heel toe would be easier too though at that point you're playing with death itself as you'll be around 130-150kph even on an uphill
