I guess it's about time that 20% lala owners are going to renew their roadtax. I believe some of them already did.

As for me, also 20% lala owner, roadtax gonna expire next month. So i got some confusion regarding sum insured. How much should i put? How much u guys insured ur car.

Hope all sifus can give some idea. Sorry if this is super noob question.

Yes, i've recently got the same problem.
And managed to fix it.

The problem first occurred about a week before i serviced my car.
It was a very small noise, not very noticeable, but surely was there occasionally.
So i thought it might be excessive carbon in the oil, because my Oil change was due.

The noise got much worse after Servicing:
- Replaced Engine oil from Petronas Syntium 1000 (Synth) to Syntium 800 (Semi-Synth).
No overfill, Ngam Ngam fill.
- Replaced Filter & Standard Operating procedure.
- Ran out of fuel at the service center, so found the closest caltex to pump Ron95. (usually i use petronas Ron95).

Notice that on my drive back home, the Knocking or Pinging started.  sad.gif

Solution:
1. Drove to SC to diagnose. They spent my 4 hours just to testdrive one time (10 minutes only, the rest of the time, just kept me waiting). And they mentioned maybe bad Fuel, asked me to pump ron97.

2. Continued driving around until my fuel tank was almost empty of the caltex ron95.
3. Pumped in Petronas Ron97. Drove  for  one day.

Amazingly the pinging sound reduced, and almost not noticeable.
But problem was still there. i could hear it occasionally if i really looked for it.
ie. stepped on the pedal suddenly.

4. Drove my car to Sunway ZerotoHundred shop, changed Engine oil from Syntium 800 to LiquiMoly Leiktauf 10w-40 with MOS2 Semi-Synth.
5. Added one bottle of liquimoly Ceratec.

The branch manager at the shop drives an inspira manual. He said the problem is normal and unavoidable. He said that he pumps RON97 to get rid of the problem. And that changing engine oil should not affect it.
He also changed to NGK sparks and said the problem went a away for just a short while. then came back.
He suggested i try liquimoly injector cleaner additive. I considered it, but left that treatment for next time.

Moving forward,
6. Drove to petronas to fill up with Ron95.

7. Drove one day, to ensure the Ron95 reached the engine.

8. So far, not pinging observed anymore.

So it could be one of three things that fixed it. Either Engine oil, Ceratec, or changing from Caltex to petronas ron95.

Goodluck!

PS. Additional comment on the Liqui-Moly products, i have not felt any "smoothness" or difference from my previous synthetic Syntium 1000. Maybe my butt-dyno is not sensitive enough.
However i dont have the knocking/pinging now. so for now, i am satisfied with my investment.

Good morning smile.gif

Wikihow.com has a solution to this.

Hey guys, i have some questions for my inspira 1.8 mt.
How do you make the car more stable (less floaty) when going high speed? And why is the 2nd gear not that power and at some point i need to change it to 1st gear? how can i fix it? Does changing the rim to 18 inch make it more stable? or should i just cut the spring and lower the car?

previously we owned a waja 1.6 mt, the car is much more stable and lower and we rarely use the 1st gear unless the car completely stops at the traffic light.
*
Good morning.

Regarding the 2nd gear's powerless driving, perhaps all manual drivers here are experiencing it. The following is what I do to increase the 2nd gear's power when driving slowly.

- press the clutch a little to control the speed of the car
- at the same time, increase the RPM by pressing the accelerator slightly; this will increase the power
- release the clutch once the so-called '2nd gear power' is back to normal
- now, drive normally

And the IMPORTANT notes I reminded myself when doing the above actions:
- Remember to control the speed of the car by controlling the up and down movement of the clutch. And DO NOT press on the accelerator too much or releasing the clutch too fast—Otherwise I'll be doing DRAG RACING on the road. doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

That's it! smile.gif

Pray hard u do not wear off ur clutch. You do not want to know the price of replacing the clutch..
*
Ohyaa ho... didn't thought of that lah... doh.gif

Anyway, that's what I love to hear. Love to hear where I've done wrong.
Thanks for pointing out!

So, if what I'd tried is not advisable, then is there any other way to go around this '2nd gear power' problem? icon_question.gif

Hi mytmnet! It's good to know you. smile.gif
Heard that you are from JB. Saw a lot of white inspira that are modified drool.gif today at Tesco Desa Tebrau. Does any of these belong to you?

Wahlow eh..! That's is really a lot to pay for. rclxub.gif

So, I suppose shifting to the 1st gear would be the next best solution. But our manual box funny one lah...
Sometimes shifting is smooth; sometimes shifting to gear 1, 2, 3, or 4, sure can feel or hear two 'cluck' sound
—like this: 'cluck, cluck'.
The low gears sound being louder than the high.

Not very loud, but makes one wonders what is going on with the gear box. sad.gif

Someone did mention about this before. Can't remember much what he said.
Know what's the cause of this? Anything we can do to rectify this 'cluck, cluck' sound? icon_question.gif

synchronizer grind / friction to synchronize your input/output shafts

either rev match better, shift smoother, use better gear oil with appropriate friction modifier (can't be too slippery or lack of it) or all 3 of the mentioned measures.
*
Thanks Quazacolt. It's good to know you too. smile.gif

I'll try one of the latter two first. As for rev matching, let me do some study regarding it—now wondering if the noob me is capable to do this stuff or not. biggrin.gif

Well, have a good day. And bye... smile.gif
