Locktech Pedal Lock information from Poadster (sh@rty5)
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
The build quality of the lock is very good, with solid and thick steel base. Installation is quick (as the sifu seem very used to installing these locks) with minimal removal of parts (only the cover below the steering wheel is removed). The lock base is screwed into the chassis (I cant see from outside as the installer had to twist and contour his body to slide under the dashboard) and tightened with 3 screws. Finally, the ignition cut-ff is placed by "plug and play" to the existing socket, and the cover is replaced. Using the lock is really simple, just pull the handle till it clicks and its done. This will then prevent the brake pedal to be fully depressed and prevents the gear shifter from being moved from P (brake pedal shift lock system). For more security, you can engage the second lock by depressing it in. Unlocking is done in reverse, if double locked - the depressed lock must be unlocked first as the "handle" lock will not be released. The "handle" lock will snap return to the base (spring loaded) once unlocked, and the brake pedal can be fully depressed. The ignition cut off works as indicated. You can still turn the ignition switch to "ON" but the starter wont come on "ACC" if the lock is in place. All in, its worth install the lock as it will add another theft prevention security to your car, and most importantly with minimal installation hassle and no "reworking" of any existing car wiring that could void your warranty. Price: RM2XX (other places I have surveyed - RM350 - 400 for double lock, RM300 - 350 for single lock) Quality: Solidly built with thick and heavy steel. 3 pcs of keys provided. Value for money: 4.5 of 5

Noises from the passenger side Solution from XCInspire
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
For those of you having noises from the passenger side, it could be the glove box or the panel below the glove box is loose. For the glove box, please find below a solution worth trying.
Please make sure the padding you going to stick is thin and well secured else it will come off if you open/close the box.
If you have rattling from the rear plastic panel behind, you may want to pad it with paddings from below. Access from boot area and stuff some paddings below the panel between the plastic and the metal body.
The other rattling from rear could be the heat shield for the silencer box. Some ppl padded it with some sound proof mats. Please make sure you use heat/fireproof mats for the heatshield.

Inspira Do you know?
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
Did you know? (For those who are lazy to read the 'misspeeled' manual)
1) You can use the D-paddle without moving the gear stick and turn it off by holding the right paddle for >1sec
2) You can enable auto-unlock at authorized SC (You can program it to auto-unlock once it's at P, no it cannot auto-lock while at D (funny design))
3) Our Inspira can do wheel spin if you rev it up to 4k rpm and shift from N to D
4) With the door locked, you can just pull the door lever and the lock will pop to unlock position
5) From others feedback, using Ron 92 and Ron 97 petrol doesn't give much diff in terms of power & FC
6) Auto lock, press lock & press the Unlock button then wait for about 30 seconds (without open the door) the car will automatically LOCK and the single will blink
7) You cannot rev to red line when in 'N' the ECU stops you from doing so REV goes up to 4.5k n stay at 4.5k
8) Your wiper can turn and wipe faster when above 80km/h, and at the same time the radio volume is automatically increased
8) With your car engine off, put on your seat belt then insert car key and turn half way through, no beeps~
apparently that's for seat belt reminder
9) Switch off your engine and you can still wind down or up the window (for approx 30 sec until the led indicator switch off)
10) The window power (30secs) explained earlier is deactivated if either of the front doors is opened (not just driver side) which may explain why it didn't work for some when tested
11) When you switch off your car, the cabin light turns on, but its not as bright, after you open the car door, it gets brighter
12) You can switch off auto-mod (auto choosing interior or exterior air cycle) by hold off right most aircond button until it sound beep beep (For auto aircond function only)
13) When the car is alarmed, immobilizer will beep for 10 secs, from inside
14) There are 2 temperature sensors
- for interior temperature (for the automatic air cond), near your left knee and on top, beside the map light
- external one that is displayed on the screen, in the middle between the wipers
15) Push the signal stick up for left & down for right (quick tap twice) but not until it click, it will blink for 6 times then auto off (for switching lanes?)
16) Our rear Brakes are 2-in-1, Disc and Drum, Disc for pedal brake, Drum for handbrake (Perfect for handbrake turns)
Original Source: http://hubpages.com/hub/2008lancer
17) Inside the arm rest, just behind the cover, there's a tissue compartment (note the small space for tucking in pocket sized tissue)
-----------------------added on 01/01/2011----------------------------------------------------------------------------
18) You can turn off the radio by pressing the 'mode' button on the steering control for more then 2 seconds
19) The anti-mist for the rear window will turn off by itself after 20 minutes
20) You can enable the auto cruise for 1.8 CVT with the autocruise button (aftermarket around RM250)
21) The alarm will not be triggered if you lock the car with the remote button and trying to open the door manually with the key, apparently it will be triggered if you smash your car or trying to open it with an illegal duplicate key
22) To test whether the alarm works or not, simply lock yourself inside the car, and manually unlock the door and open it, the alarm will sound then
23) In order to open the car trunk, you need to press the remote button twice, within 5 seconds time frame (You can also pull the trunk lever inside the car twice, but you would look like an idiot doing so)
24) You can open the car trunk without unlocking the alarm, the alarm will still be on
25) The intermittent wiper will become continuous if you are driving more than 60 km/j, set it the fastest intermittent, then the sensor will be activated
26) In order for the MIVEC to kicks in, you need to rev above 4.5k rpm (unlike vTEC, there's no significant sound to determine, but the car will start to push more than ordinary)
27) No, there's no hidden TURBO lying inside the mivec engine
28) No, the car will not fly if you install the spoiler, let it be aftermarket or the OEM
29) There a difference in the console meter between Inspira and Lancer, Inspira's rpm is on the right, speedo meter on the left, whereas Lancer's rpm is on the left and speedo on the right
30) There's a hole at the passenger side, right at the left bottom, no, that's not for tucking your 'secret weapon', it's meant for the flare (can get it at halfcut RM20) Purpose? burn it at your new year party or any occasion that requires it
-----------------------added on 02/01/2011----------------------------------------------------------------------------
31) To quickly distinguish between a converted EVO X and the real EVO X is by the fuel cap, EVO X comes with a rectangular shaped whereas Inspira is in circular shaped.
32) To quickly distinguish between a converted Inspira-Lancer and the real Lancer is by ...oh maybe I shouldn't reveal this first.
-----------------------added on 07/01/2011----------------------------------------------------------------------------
33) The Headlights will turn off by itself, once the engine is off. There'll be an indicator, but if you choose to ignore, the Headlights will be off automatically
Some of the items have been extracted from the manual and others feedback whereas the rest is no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience.
