hmm.... recently bought Dell monitor and only realized that Dell's policy on dark pixel is that they accept 1-5 dark pixels and won't be considered as reject.

For Ultrasharp, such a high end and expensive range of monitor, still can have this kind of relax quality policy...

i think i'm going to ban Dell from my future purchase already....

just posted on my Dell experience...what issue you have with Dell?
As for Samsung, how old is your monitor? after warranty period?

QUOTE(edwinmiracle @ Jun 5 2014, 11:32 AM)
Can anyone recommend a nearly true colour of cheap lcd monitor? U241x is popular here but 23.8" with 1080P okay? Other than Dell ? as its quality scare me away from it(5 years of warranty doesnt help anything for me)
Does Nec Monitor still selling Malaysia?
Currently using samsung 23" got problem, 2 vertical lines and flickering (my only and last samsung product, will never buy this brand)

what do you mean by not all dell monitor?
you mean other dell monitor have worse or better replacement guideline?

QUOTE(djlah @ Jun 6 2014, 09:50 AM)
yeah, that's Premium Panel Guarantee... Ultrasharp series, yes! Alienware Monitor too. .... take note, not all dell monitor.

very shock by this general industry guideline..so it's really down to your luck when you buy LCD..
if there's 2-3 or 4 dark pixels, then gone case....
you have to live with it.... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

QUOTE(djlah @ Jun 6 2014, 10:08 AM)
I meant all Monitor with 1 to 5 fixed pixels is within the industry standards, and is therefore considered an acceptable and RMA will not accept. Unless those premium line of monitors come with Zero Pixels Guarantee, you can only claim for RMA. For Dell, is branded name as Premium Panel Guarantee for UltraSharp Monitor. other Dell entry level monitor still rely back standard policy.

you can read more here.

my recente xperience with Dell is really not good...so i can only tell you to stay away from Dell...haha...

QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Jun 6 2014, 11:27 PM)
I am thinking to upgrade my current 22" LCD / 19" LCD to a single 27" LCD, any recommendation? I am spoiled with plenty of USB ports in my monitor now. SD card slot could be a plus.

i think you can try some of the suggestion by the experienced guru here...

they just buy from store and check thoroughly before purchasing the unit...that's the safest way to buy LCD i guess....not only Dell..probably other brands as well....

QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Jun 8 2014, 06:52 PM)
Any other recommendation?

hi all,

i have a general question and it will help me decide on my monitor purchase decision. So assuming if i get a 27inch monitor 1440p, can i set it to 1080p when playing game and will it impact the image quality with pixelation?

Because currently I am really interested to buy 27inch 1440p monitor but maybe my graphics card can only support up to 1080p for ultra high settings....so i am thinking if i should go for 27inch 1440p or just get 24inch 1080p monitor.... my preference is the 27inch...

thanks!

Any other better suggestions? Aiming for IPS... I play games and also watch movies from PC... 27in seems to be the sweet spot for me....

I am using 22in now so if I buy 24in like not really upgrade in size... tongue.gif

QUOTE(Vannus @ Jul 26 2016, 05:24 PM)
ERM, that dell monitor cost around rm2k right?

You sure you want to pay this amount for 1440p @ 60hz IPS? smile.gif

Somemore your graphic card is gtx970 is only good at 1080p.

It will be sweating pushing 1440p (unless you tune down the graphic settings on the games to medium or low). I suggest if you want to go 1440p with gtx970 for time being, you need G-Sync monitor so when at low fps it will help smooth'en the screen, so no tearing.

Have a good thought about it before purchase.

gosh...i just noticed your signature... poison alert poison alert! one time pain again? i am still recovering from the one time pain from my rig just setup... LOL ...

i am a casual gamer, starcraft 2 and COD series, minimum requirement is to able to play smooth at ultra or highest setting... so i got myself a used 970 card first so i can use on my old 22in monitor... while i do more search on which monitor i should be getting... eventually i will upgrade my gfx but that is later la....

right now still trying to understand if i really need those super high end monitor....hard to see demo sets around so was thinking probably the normal 60Hz monitor works well already since last time we don't have such 144Hz monitor anyway....

QUOTE(Vannus @ Jul 26 2016, 06:50 PM)
Haha knew it you are like me, want 27 minimum and 1440p. Do you need 144hz and gsync? Gaming very shoik wei 144hz. Kan cheong time in game you hardly miss a single move. smile.gif Aiya, just pain 1 time add a few more hundred and get acer xb271hu. If you know where to find. smile.gif
Drawback is ips glow and backlight bleed. Go test out first properly before you buy. And if possible take the display set if backlight bleed is super minimal. A brand new out from box doesnt guarentee that. Might be worst.and most time is.

But ppl say IPS better... the dell gaming is TN panel... until today I still cannot find a proper demo set to experience the difference... how is TN compared to IPS.... how is 60 hz compared to 144 hz.... and 8ms compared to 1ms.... haizzz

QUOTE(teng_08 @ Aug 17 2016, 09:52 PM)
Can consider the Dell S2716DG gaming monitor. Comes with 3 years 1 to 1 replacement warranty.

i have a friend using dell 27inch 1440p.... then i set the display setting to full HD 1080p...doesn't really look sharp lo...maybe i should not be doing that since it's not the native resolution of the monitor..i guess i will try look around for a 27inch HD monitor first before decide....

QUOTE(siles1991 @ Sep 13 2016, 11:38 PM)

One of my biggest worry... the nightmare is when brand new got dead pixel already.... if I understand correctly... a few pixels of black dead pixel is still acceptable and cannot claim warranty...

QUOTE(kianweic @ Oct 3 2016, 01:00 PM)
Damn, my Dell 27inch monitor bought two years ago has a dead pixel on the left side of the screen. Not sure can claim warranty or not.

I don't think it is a 4k monitor... only problem is TN panel if you don't mind about this then this is a good monitor to get....

QUOTE(heizad @ Oct 3 2016, 10:25 PM)
hi guys..noob here..is dell S2716DG a good buy? been eyeing this one due to 27" 4k monitor with 144Hz refresh rate..1ms response time and g-sync capability..any other monitor with these kind of specs? smile.gif

currently using gtx1060 and acer S243HL...been using this monitor for around 6 years already and thinking to upgrade biggrin.gif

For gaming TN should be good.... IPS panel mostly favored by those who do more stuff on image editing and video editing etc...and IPS panel will not have response time like 1ms.... smile.gif

QUOTE(heizad @ Oct 3 2016, 10:43 PM)
oops..sorry...ignore about the 4k part...accidentally wrote it laugh.gif anyway for gaming TN panel should be fine enough right? got below kind of price..any other monitor i should look at as well?

I think if buy from Acer who has their own stroke at Lazada is ok... for other seller you can check their ratings to reduce and minimize your risk....

im looking for 22-24" monitor as secondary display for my gaming laptop but not sure which 1 to pick
