not included, you will have to pay for that. they will roughly charge you about RM 100? If there is drilling needed

does that mean what they mention here on this page is wrong? Unifi Page

QUOTE
Standard Installation

For all standard installations, a fee of RM200 will be imposed.
All wiring work carried out will be run along the surface of walls and enclosed in a casing called a ‘raceway’.
If additional cabling length is required beyond what is provided in the standard package, extra charges will be imposed. These extra charges will be billed in your next bill. No cash payment is to be made.
*Update: Called 1300 Unifi number, the raceway(casing ) is included in the standard installation, free for 30 meters.

Don't know who is right now. If they don't I'll just buy the raceway myself and DIY.

just called TM support, they couldnt find any issue from their side. they even refresh and reset my connection (i have no idea what that mean.)

anyway, he advise me to download PingPlotter, screenshot them and submit a report to their email support. sigh

EDIT : update, seems like im not getting a timeout anymore. perhaps you can drop a call and tell them to refresh/reset your connection. thumbup.gif

Guys is it true they don't install FTB box outside your house wall anymore, instead they pull the wire directly from the pole?

Thanks samkian. Did they say how they calculate the 15M internal fibre limit without the FTB?

For my case, they calculate total length for the fibre cable outside and inside. For me, total fibre length is 40M, no extra charge.

That's what I'm afraid, they can simply put your internal fibre is longer than 15M and charge you in the next bill.

*Update: TM called me, they said there is no such direction to install Unifi without FTB. If the installer is reluctant to install the box, call TM on the spot. They will speak to the installer.

update 2: Right before the installer came, I made another call to unifi to make sure about the FTB thing. Now, CS says it's a new directive that unifi can be installed without the FTB. CS said internal fibre count from FWS onwards, installer says it doesn't matter anymore without FTB rclxub.gif really my kepala pusing already listening to them. Fortunately, my installation went smoothly without hiccups.

Is Unifi having issues or doing any major maintenance? I'm constantly having dc issues every 30mins since Friday night till now. Using ethernet cable to directly connect from pc to router. Can't even stay long in Wildstar or SWTOR it's annoying.

Guys, I am on VIP 5, and I do watch quite a lot of live stream and those streams are not very smooth. Does it makes a different if I replace the original modem with TP-LINK TL-WR841ND. Btw, is the QoS function in the original modem useful? Thanks for your time.

It wont help much because most of our servers are located out of Malaysia...Streaming always depends on the servers..

Guys, my installation date is due tomorrow (23/6). In the email they said they'll call me 3 days prior for confirmation. But they didnt.
If TM still dont give me a call today (22/6), should i give them a call?
Or just wait until the contractor come for the installation tomorrow? Tq.

For your info,

I also didn't receive any call for confirmation. Mine was also scheduled for installation today morning. I called Unifi line at 8:15am to enquire which they replied installer confirmed coming. Later received a Unifi sms at 9:35am stating my installer name. Around 10am, installer called and informed me that arriving in 20mins.

Arrived ahead of time and told me they can pull cables over ceiling for a fee. I declined and told them to drill at the locations I selected. However, They decided to pull the cables over my ceiling as it is easier and faster (according to installer) for free. Pull the black cable beside my TV and asked whether I want casing for a fee, which I declined.

HyppTV on, Internet on, Phone tested, everything done within 1 hour 20mins. Also noted that there is no DB box like my neighbour; only a loop of wires hanging outside at the cable entry point of my house....
