I think i am good with ZCOVA offered. My budget is around RM 8 - 9k with 0.5ct which they are able to deliver with better quality of the diamond. I believe not many people able to see the difference. Thank you so much for your advises!!! You helped me a lot.

Oh wow, thank you so much! This is very helpful. I will PM them soon.

Have you had any personal experience with any of the vendors? And is there anything in particular I should look out for during the buying process? smile.gif

Hi Hikarireika,

This is Shannon, owner of The Gem Tribe and U.S. graduated GIA Gemologists. Nice to meet you. : ]

To answer your question, your budget is decent if you are looking at those alternative gems. And yes, to make it in 18kt White Gold is not a problem as well. Although, you may struggle to find it within big jewelry retailers here in Malaysia as Colored stones are less popular.

I am happy to guide you towards picking a lovely and practical choice and can be helpful with guiding you towards a design you love. : ) If you're interested in reaching out, here is our direct service line for your convenience. 😊 - 0122279525 Best luck!

Hi Jszeon,

I'm Shannon, owner of the Gem Tribe and GIA Gemologist.
If you are looking for a decent grade 0.50ct diamond, I may be able to source one for you at similar or higher quality for a cheaper price. You may check out our lowyat profile to understand how we are different.

Unlike ZCOVA who claims they only deal with virtual stock, they have actually been approaching a few of us in the industry offering to wholesale diamonds to us. This means that they actually in fact, have bought and is carrying in stock inventory. Hence, the possibility of them promoting only what they have.

If you like to understand better and have a better personalized experience, you are welcome to reach us directly at 0122279525. Best luck to you! 😊

Here is the same piece of diamond:
https://enchanteddiamonds.com/diamonds/view...amond-505853530

USD 670 (RM 2762.02).

What ring setting are they providing? 14k? 18k? Nonetheless, either one, I would say the price is pretty fair.

And I am just answering whether it is worth it or not from a pricing perspective, not quality. Personally, I will look for something like this:

Attached Image

The final price for this sort of diamond will probably touch RM 4500 - RM 5000, together with a 18k white gold ring. More expensive, 1 grade lower in colour, but better in terms of cut quality and performance. The sample has faint fluorescence.

Of course, the choice is up to you.

33.5 CA pair with 41.6 PA will most certainly won't work. You will need a shallower crown to work with that PA.

To know whether a piece of diamond has crown angle that works well against each other, use the HCA tool:
https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca

Just pump in the numbers, or the certificate number (sometimes work, sometimes no).

This tool is really helpful. Much thanks, @kambingkoh !

Using it to compare with another option. Based on your advice, i think the 0.43 one is good but trying to find similar and lower clarity instead.

Oh, The Love Diamond from SUEN. They are said to be cut to Hearts & Arrows, and I believe their certificate has the images as well. I would assume that their performance will be better than the typical diamond that you will see in most places. The CA and PA pairing looks okay to me.

Their price won't be cheap as far as I know, but you do get to enjoy the brick-and-mortar store experience.

If you feel comfortable buying online, here are a couple of Hearts & Arrows diamond with proof of performance:

https://black.briangavindiamonds.com/diamon...?a_aid=myengexp (affiliate link). I see that you are aiming for close to 0.5ct diamond. If that is the case, this is a good choice. This piece will cost approximately RM 6470.23. The images aren't up yet but if you are interested, contact their sales consultant and they should be able to expedite your request.

This piece from WhiteFlash is slightly smaller, but it is another good option if you want to save some money:
https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/r...id=myengringexp (affiliate link). This is cost approximately RM 5541.20.

Solitaire ring setting set starts at RM 1499.00:
https://memoryjewellery.com/category/engagement-ring/ - The downside for Memory Jewellery ring setting is that their white gold uses nickel as the whitening agent instead of palladium, while SUEN ones should be using palladium as far as I know. But then, most people are not sensitive to nickel. If you want customize ring with palladium in the white gold, then look for iDo Jewellery - http://idojewellery.com.

Final price for each respectively: RM 6470.23 + RM 1499.00 = RM 7969.23 || RM 5541.20 + RM 1499.00 = 7040.20.

Oh my, the 0.47 from brian gavin is the same price as the 0.43, which i had in mind and yet have better HCA score and bigger carat..currently reading your blog on brian gavin lol

Tho, my fiance is quite against buying online..

Also, its very impressive on how fast u came up with the 0.47..i tried to check zcova, see the cert one by one whether it falls under the "percentage criteria", then check using HCA..much more to learn!

If you are shopping with your fiance... Follow what the girl wants.. Lol. Save headache is better than save money sometimes 😜 anyway, just find a method that you are both comfortable with, no right or wrong. wink.gif

And it is not hard to find from Brian Gavin, just use their filter system to fix diamond size between 0.4 to 0.49ct.

Judging by the look of that attachment, I believe you were quoted by Tailored Jewel?

That E VVS2 quality is a tad overkill for a 0.3 RB. I would suggest to drop the colour and clarity by one grade to maximise your carat weight. If the diamond is well cut, a layman would not be able to tell the difference between an E and an F. Likewise, a VVS2 would appear as eyeclean as a VS1. So why pay more for something which you can't see?

What is your budget?

You may look for online stores like James Allen, Whiteflash, Brian Gavin and the likes. They are 100% legit. The good thing about them is that they are totally transparent on their websites, as they put everything up there for buyers to evaluate.
