Love & Co is overpriced. LoveMarque is their signature collection as far as I know, but for that kind of price I can do better online, at cheaper prices. Their ring setting is pretty good though.

Wah Chan sells GIA graded stone. Despite what others say, GIA is still the top tier lab in the world. You would probably get better value buying from Wah Chan. If you are concerned about their quality, then focus your search on their signature collection known as Solitaire Club. It is only at selected branches though.

You can of course get better options from smaller jewelers like Memory Jewellery or ZCOVA. I know Memory Jewellery can get pretty good diamonds if you decent cut diamonds. However, those diamonds are quite limited in quantity because decent diamonds are pretty rare I would say. As for ZCOVA, they look more posh and they  are tapped to a whole lot of virtual inventory. Virtual inventory represents diamond supplier inventory, so basically they have like many many diamonds... With a mixture of good and bad ones of course. They can also price match if you can find the same diamond elsewhere. They do honour it as far as I know based in feedback.

Tailored Jewel at Atria is another good option. They do provide some decent affordable packages. Diamond quality wise is okay. However, if you feel that you want better, they are able to source for better ones as well, but maybe not at package price (my guess).

Classic solitaire ring is the ring design that holds your diamond. Classic means it is a timeless design - You saw it before, see it now, and still see it in the future. Solitaire means the diamond will be the only diamond on the ring, something like this:

0.40ct is the carat weight - It doesn't really represent how "big" the diamond is, but rather, it represents how "heavy". FYI, a very well-cut 0.8ct diamond can actually look as big as a poorly cut 1ct diamond, if not bigger, but yet, it has a lower weight.

Colour represents how icy white the diamond will look. D colour being the whitest, while E is the 2nd whitest, followed by F. D, E, F colours are what we called Colourless, while G, H, I, J is what we called Near Colourless. Yellowish tint will be more obvious starting from K colour, in general. And to answer you, E colour is very good.

3EX - Triple Excellent. Excellent in CUT, Excellent in SYMMETRY, Excellent in POLISH. There are tonnes of it out in the market, so it is actually the starting point to pick a good diamond. But do remember, not all Triple Excellent is Excellent despite what others say. A good diamond will have a strict set of proportions and when they are cut to high precision, they will exhibit Hearts & Arrows patterning.

14k - This represents the gold content in your ring. 14k consists of approximately 58.3%/58.5% gold content in the ring, while 18k consists of 75%. 18k is the standard in Malaysia market for engagement rings. You will usually see the engraving of the gold content on the finished ring, AU583/AU585 for 14k, or AU150 for 18k, or simply just the numbers alone. Both 14k and 18k looks the same after rhodium plating -> The polished whitish bright bright layer on the ring. This plating will wear and tear in time, but fret not, you can refurbish it after a few years at minimal cost or free, depending on jeweler.

The price for Love & Co is fair if you consider that they need to pay for rental, utilities, salaries, marketing, stocking up stock, and probably some commission, together with some profit margin... Honestly RM 7k you can get something like 0.4ct E VS1 GIA 3EX... and that is not even the possible cheapest price. What I am highlighting is that Love & Co has a high operational cost and you can get certainly get all the "feel good" factor, "feel safe" factor, but certainly not the "feel cheap" factor. But of course, if you feel that that is what you want, it is certainly okay. Just look at Pandora, notice how many bees are swarming the store now and then? But if you want to talk about just the cost of that material alone, they are relatively cheap.

For ZCOVA (affiliate link), they utilize what we call Virtual Inventory. They tap onto global trade network and put a certain profit margin into the final price. They are virtual because they don't stock up physical stock but they are able to access a lot of them up-close and personal via magnification technology that zoom the diamond into quite a big size to inspect closely. Once they shortlisted a candidate diamond and customer confirmed that they want to buy, only then, they will buy the particular diamond in. They also owe the showroom at Kota Damansara and there is no rental cost involved. They also run on a lean team so there the expenses in terms of salary is lower. They only do digital marketing and does not run roadshows so their marketing cost should be lower too. So, yes, the price is certainly reasonable. Might look unbelievable at first, but certainly true. And yes, they are making some profit as well!

If you want really great cut quality, then you have to focus on Hearts & Arrows diamond, which will cost a few thousand more... it should be around RM 11k all-in. Usually I would recommend people to buy from WhiteFlash (affiliate link) or Brian Gavin Diamonds (affiliate link)
