Thank you for your time and suggestion  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

Additional Question:
1. i wish to know if old 160GB IDE hdd will be able to compatible with the rig that i'm building..
that will be for win xp only
2. Will laptop hdd make a good additional storage space? have an extra from laptop.

Note: Yup is a dual OS(xp and win7) rig.
Thank you all~

Nope, it's being a long time since IDE being ditched. Mobo/PSU nowadays only SATA port available.

You can use laptop HDD (SATA) and shouldn't have any issue.

Why would you want to use XP in the first place? shocking.gif
XP is no longer supported by Microsoft right now... You are asking for security risk here... sweat.gif

I rather run a virtual machine instead of XP.... icon_idea.gif

1. Old IDE HDD is not compatible with modern boards as they do not have an IDE interface... However you can use an IDE to SATA cable to remedy this issue. icon_idea.gif

2. Laptop HDDs work just fine on desktops, as long as you have the space to fit the drive. brows.gif

Anyway, since you are running old games... how about buying them from Good Old Games (GOG) instead? icon_idea.gif brows.gif Those old games are tweaked to work on newer operating systems...

Anyone can recommend a RM 3k build ? Inclusive of monitor as well.

Light usage, mainly for downloading stuff and light gaming like DotA, Sims, etc but if good graphic, I might explore to the slightly heavy gaming world brows.gif

For ease of getting everything at one go, I just recommend a single source.

No difference in terms of performance. However, I've noticed that the Kingston Value RAM does seem shorter in height and is nearly half of what the Corsair RAM.

I'm a bit sceptical of using only 1 HDD, concern of OS corrupt and corrupt HDD as well but I think that's the best option for now. Any particular reason of mobo not Asrock H97M Pro4 ? I see it is slightly cheaper and SATA slot on the side easier for cable management.

OS corruption? hmm.gif That is new to me.. sweat.gif
It's cheaper due to it's form factor.The H97-Pro4 is ATX,the H97M-Pro4 is M-ATX. tongue.gif
*can't check the differences between them other than the form factor, asrock site is down for some reason..*

H97 Pro4
◾3 PCIe 2.0 x1

H97M Pro4
◾1 PCIe 2.0 x16
◾Supports AMD Quad CrossFireX™ and CrossFireX™

That's the only differences. Of course ATX has more PCIe slots that mATX but I think not an issue for me. Thanks !

Ok, this is last one. tongue.gif Cannot get CM 690 III, coz quite big. Dont have enough space to put it. The Graphite 230T is perfect. Size almost like my current one, just longer abit. Airflow is amazing good too. Can put up to 6x 120mm fan. Lol

My current case, airflow not so good. Dont have top ventilation. With the non airconditional room, better i get the proper airflow casing. Good for the long run.
Plus, that Graphite 230T look simple and minimalistic, and the important part is, it come in Grey. wub.gif

How much does the Graphite 230T Casing cost?
