Thanks all for the prompt reply.

For Asrock B85 Killer, I did not manage to find it under the Viewnet latest list. Where can I get that @ the price suggested Minecrafter?

Mainly I am looking for at least 2 USB 3.0 ports, one for SSD at least.

You can get it from either zhen^wei (IdealTech), lingloong or hikari85, all can be found from Garage Sales. wink.gif

Idealtech

Most (if not all) mobo nowadays sure will have 2USB 3.0 ports.

One for SSD means?

SATA III ports.

But yeah I guess the mainstream mobos have all that I want smile.gif I trust I do not need extra sound card anymore? My last desktop was year 2007 and now I returned from my studies, at that time audigy 2 was my sound card and I hear over these years (when I lagged behind in PC world), mobo sound is as good for gaming.

FYI, the Asrock B85 Killer does have 2 rear USB 3.0 (with expansion for 2 more ports via internal header), and 4 SATA III ports. It also comes with a superior audio codec compared to other B85 boards in the similar price range, this should be sufficient for most people.

LOL, you add all of them together also breach your stated budget already...

Anyway, opt for cheaper mobo (avoid Asus if you don't have enough budget).

RAM if possible opt for 8GB in a stick, cheaper (per size) and potentially better resale value.

GTX650 is dated and near EOL stuff already, better get GTX750TI.

Some Cooler Master PSU is having bad reputation and questionable reliability. For budget rig, you can opt for FSP/Antec PSU under RM200.

You might want to get a more decent monitor nowadays.

Thanks a lot guys!

Right now I will go for
CPU: i5 4440 3.1GHz - rm554
MOBO: Asus h81m-k - rm199
Ram: corsair 8gb d3 1600mhz - rm244
Gpu: sapphire r9 270x dual-x 2gb - rm689
Hdd: WD cavier blue 1tb - rm174
Odd: liteon 24x dvdrw - rm59
Casing: cm k380 - rm149
Psu: fsp hexa 500w
Monitor: Samsung s22c170bs 22' - rm359
TOTAL: rm2576

1) may I know what's the k in asus h81m-k stand for? What's the diff between it and pro gamer? Because if not mistaken, what the salesperson told me is he worries h81m-k can't afford to support i5 4460.

2) any suggestion on MOBO other than asus? Which as rock is good enough to support it? Totally have zero knowledge on it 😰

1) That is probably some naming scheme of Asus, details I not too sure. It should be compatible, but with BIOS update first.
http://support.asus.com/Cpusupport/List.as...H81M-K&p=1&s=45

2) If mobo suggestion, I will suggest anything better than B85, for which H81 don't have PCIe 3.0. Not too critical to be a problem now but who know in future you might want to upgrade a powerful GPU, then it may make a different. If you want specific model, Asrock B85 Killer seems to be a good fit between price, feature and look. Else, just opt for whatever B85 you found the cheapest (though do note on the number of PCI(e) slots on them if you plan to add any PCI(e) expansion cards such as WifiCard).

1. The Pro Gamer is a B85 based board, which comes with additional USB 3.0 and SATA III ports. It is also more expensive. The 8 series boards can support Haswell Refreshed (i5 4460) with a BIOS update.

2. You can try Asrock H81M-VG4 (RM164), but it does come with 1 lesser PCI-E 2.0 x1 slot compared to Asus H81M-K, and with only VGA port. But since you're going to use discrete graphic card anyway, then it shouldn't be an issue for you.

so to finalise my own PC, Sifus here please review and modify if necessary:

CPU: Intel i5 4460
Mobo: Asrock B85 Fatality Killer
GPU: Leadtek/Zotec gtx 760 (depending on who I go to, still to finalise)
RAM: 2x 4gb ddr3 Corsair/Avexir (same as above)
HDD: WD 2TB Green/Purple (Cant afford black tongue.gif )
PSU: Seasonic M12 II Bronze 80+ (Need another suggestion if I take idealtech.com around this price rm 359 as they do not have this option)
Casing: Storm Stryker (Expensive but from Viewnet I dont see another viable, awesome looking option at phantom price) / NZXT Phantom 530

Need suggestion for Cooler too (Do I need this), if I do, Seidon 120V?

Retain ODD, monitor keyboard and gaming mouse

Thanks smile.gif

For HDD, go for WD Blue instead. The Green make very poor primary OS drive. However, I believe the Blue does not come in 2TB capacity, so you may consider going for Seagate Barracuda 2TB instead.

For PSU, can go for the non-modular S12 II version if the modular M12 is not available.

For cooler, there isn't really a reason to go with 3rd party cooler especially if you're not overclocking, as the bundled stock cooler is good enough. If you must, do consider going for Hyper 212X instead. The Seidon 120V is an entry level AIO cooler and may often lag behind even cheaper air solution. The rest looks good. wink.gif

cool. Btw the HDD WD Blue vs Green , I thought its only color difference..
For PSU, I also hear modular is easier to tidy up the inside so it doesnt look messy.

LOL, the Green does not really have a rated RPM per se, they list it as "IntelliPower"; those "green" drives that I have no idea how much energy savings it would have on saving the earth anyway. tongue.gif It probably runs lower than the standard 7200 RPM drives that we have in the market. That's why I would recommend WD Blue or even Seagate Barracuda 2TB. WD Purple is a new surveillance grade (CCTV) HDD that I have no experience on yet, I do not think this is necessary for most of us anyway.

That's right, but with good cable management, even non-modular PSUs can be kept tidied as well. brows.gif

ok good, I will go with seagate then. Most likely I will visit Idealtech next week.

+ Do you happen to have read any good article read on routers,I dont have experience on this but I always hear theres a big difference in gaming online experience (right now using DSL 2640B given from tmnet streamyx 4mbps package) so I would want to switch too if I can enhance online experience, even for streaming, if it will make a difference.

streaming? u do streaming?
I am currently using my default router from tm unifi.
Using 20mbps line, only turn on 1 game and stream 720p, it still takes up a lot of the line, my ping of the game from 23 become 74 ...

None. The first one is way overpriced, and comes with a very slow GPU, which is unfit for modern games. icon_idea.gif

The second one has an overpriced GPU, and topping up RM70 for a Palit GTX750 Ti StormX for RM535 from GBros is a much better deal. The card I have mentioned is an overclocked version, which is faster than the reference card:
user posted image

Note: Graph shows the more expensive StormX Dual, and the non-Dual StormX would be slightly slower. icon_idea.gif

No PSU from your second build? How about getting a FSP Hexa+ 500W for RM159 from lingloong? icon_idea.gif

Update: Even the similarly priced GTX750 would be faster than the GTX650:

Nothing beat subscribing to a higher bandwidth internet service like Unifi/Maxis Fibre. You may be amazed by how much superior Unifi/Maxis Fibre over the 4M Screamyx once you tried it.

I assume you are going for a OC built since you opt for an unlocked low mid tier CPU over higher tier newer CPU.

Case - 250
Air cooler - 250
8GB RAM - 300
1TB HDD - 200
128GB SSD - 300
Dell Ultrasharp Monitor - 850
DVD - 60

Subtotal = RM2210.

Since still pretty much budget left, you can either opt for fancier case/cooler or a larger (256GB) SSD.

Alternatively, you can try to sell your current mobo and CPU and opt for a non-OC Intel built and safe some pennies from buying a cooler.

p/s: Just noticed that I missed out the PSU. Get a Antec/Seasonic PSU within your budget.
