I assume you are going for a OC built since you opt for an unlocked low mid tier CPU over higher tier newer CPU.

Case - 250
Air cooler - 250
8GB RAM - 300
1TB HDD - 200
128GB SSD - 300
Dell Ultrasharp Monitor - 850
DVD - 60

Subtotal = RM2210.

Since still pretty much budget left, you can either opt for fancier case/cooler or a larger (256GB) SSD.

Alternatively, you can try to sell your current mobo and CPU and opt for a non-OC Intel built and safe some pennies from buying a cooler.

p/s: Just noticed that I missed out the PSU. Get a Antec/Seasonic PSU within your budget.

Additional Question:
1. i wish to know if old 160GB IDE hdd will be able to compatible with the rig that i'm building..
that will be for win xp only
2. Will laptop hdd make a good additional storage space? have an extra from laptop.

Note: Yup is a dual OS(xp and win7) rig.
Thank you all~

Nope, it's being a long time since IDE being ditched. Mobo/PSU nowadays only SATA port available.

You can use laptop HDD (SATA) and shouldn't have any issue.

Thank you for the clarity of my doubt...

Why would you want to use XP in the first place? shocking.gif
XP is no longer supported by Microsoft right now...  You are asking for security risk here... sweat.gif

I rather run a virtual machine instead of XP.... icon_idea.gif

1. Old IDE HDD is not compatible with modern boards as they do not have an IDE interface...  However you can use an IDE to SATA cable to remedy this issue. icon_idea.gif

2. Laptop HDDs work just fine on desktops, as long as you have the space to fit the drive. brows.gif

Anyway, since you are running old games... how about buying them from Good Old Games (GOG) instead? icon_idea.gif brows.gif  Those old games are tweaked to work on newer operating systems...
