Thanks Misa! Now I just have to find some old clothes of mine to cut up. But I have none, now that I have smartly thrown it all away.

I am dreading going home tonight. It is time to cut my critters nails and I have bad feeling about it because this will be the first time I am cutting their nails on my own.

I tried the "feeding worm" tactic as a distraction, but they practically swallow the worm while eating it. Then I tried cutting Roscoe's nails while he was sleeping. he woke up and started crying. Don't know what to do. But I have to cut their nails as it is unbearable!

You can put maybe 5-6 worms on a plate -- dehead the worms first so they won't escape and while your glider's eating it -- try to cut their nails. Or later when you have the pouch, while your glider is sleeping in it -- you can open and fold the pouch down and cut the nails while he/she is sleeping -- it usually works. Sometimes you get one nail every two minutes laugh.gif depending on how grumpy or how deep asleep the glider is. Yesterday I managed to cut BabyBoy's nails in 2 minutes flat. I was just lucky haha! tongue.gif

From the first post i saw some food that hav be avoid like grapes, corn.

But normally i just feed these 2 food ( eider 1) + cat food.

Sometime will feed it eat ligo brand dry grape, is it ok like that ? 1 year already and without any problem.

Grapes and corn... very little nutritional value, giving as treats is ok but as staple fruits, not a very good idea.

Get hold or make a good glider food mix, it helps in giving nutrition, vitamins and mineral supplements.

Once a while a raisin is good... but too much is well, too sweet hahaha... maybe 1 or 2 raisins a day is good enough.

Do try and lessen the feeding of catfood... sometimes catfood contain avocado oil, salt, garlic... these stuff are bad for gliders....

Feed a variety of our local fruits besides apples, pears and honey dews. Gliders love jambu air, papaya, rambutan...

If like that maybe i change those grape and corn be apple or other fruit.

Thank you crazymouse_yyh, although is nothing to my glider now, now still can change to other food for it XD.

Yah, go for other fruits. Give cricket and mealworms also. They need protein also. Catfood, as long do not have those stuff I said then ok lah but make sure it is a super premium brand.

My cat food is high protein and low fat. my sugar glider also like to enjoy it.

Well you can try playing with them using cat toys. I think gliders like the same sort of play except on a smaller scale. I used a dangling feather on a stick to play with Roscoe. He got excited and grabbed hold of the feather and started his "iguana" like run!

Misa, I am resigned to the fate that I have to be the only SG owner who still can't cut her SGs nails. I tried cutting Roscoe's nails last night (only because he knows how to sit in my hand) and he made such a fuss!!!! My friend had to bundle him in a clothe and he keeps struggling! Even when I tried to hold onto his paws to cut the nails he curls the paws up and starts crying. And then he got aggressive in trying to get out of the clothe.

I gave him worms... lots of it. He eats it in less than 2 seconds. How?

Yeah I have thought about it but that is a very straight forward way of thinking. Yes, it would help. But not at the risk of hurting my Gliders' paws. I think for the sand paper in the wheel to work, it must be the proper kind. Otherwise the SG might end up hurting its paws and also have its nails cut to the red veiney bit.

There is a special wheel call Nail-o-matic but I am unable to get my hands on it. Its only sold in the US! And they don't have shipping services to Malaysia.

Anyway going to US soon? Maybe we can all bulk order.

Once you get the pouches, while they're sleeping in the afternoon -- maybe you can take some time off to try to cut their nails. tongue.gif Hopefully, it'll work then. No worries! I'm sure you'll be able to do it someday.

And to all new suggie owners tongue.gif be careful when attempting to cut your glider's nails! Cut at the very tip of it, don't cut into the quick or it'll bleed and it'll be extremely painful for your glider.

Also, for those interested in getting a suggie, it's best to purchase from a breeder. You can check the LYN Pets Trading thread.

Zara's Exotic pet store has the glider pouches available for sale at RM36. It's located at Summit. tongue.gif Might go and purchase one. Hehe. Saw a few nice denim pouches today at Sunway Pyramid -- for RM7-12 -- but it just has a sort of velcro flap. And at another stall, there are really cool drawstring pouches, it'll fit one glider comfortably but it's a bit pricey -- RM10. But it's beautiful! I should have bought one la at least. ...haih -- these days go out to the mall only, I find myself looking at pouches. laugh.gif
