the s1 got a ccd sensor failure, which is manufacturer's fault
but the sensor has been discontinue so canon replace with the new model that time, which is the S3 |

I got my S3is during the last PC fair at RM1599 (not manage to reduce the price due to Canon control) BUT manage to squeeze the seller's ball to throw in mini tripod + normal tripod + 4 2000MH batt +2 charger + 1GB SD card + Screen protector. Canon on PC fair give 1GB SD Card plus a cap.
It seems that during PC fair we can get better deal for consumer electronic items other than PC. S3is will be my first DC b4 upgrading to DSLR and it will be my superzoom DC for far distance objects. (I will never have enough money to get a 400mm lens for DSLR) |

YAY.. I got mine fixed for free... Btw.. bout the s1 upgrade to s3 regarding the ccd problem, i think there are a handful of s1 users got it changed.. u guys were lucky because ya'll had the 3 yrs extended warranty for free.. unfortunately s3 only come with 1 year warranty or we may get a s5 replacement in the near future.. hahaha..
