QUOTE
The existing E6300 and E6400 has 4MB L2 onboard but half of its cache disabled so costs are naturally higher since the transistors are there. Intel will therefore release native 2MB L2 Conroe and Merom (Santa Rosa Platform - 800FSB/Socket P) in Feb 2007 which sport smaller die size (~30% smaller) as well as fewer capacitors on the package. It will lower their production cost to compete against AMD upcoming 65nm native 1MB L2 and 512KB L2 processors. The native 2MB L2 Conroe includes Core 2 Duo E6300 (1.86GHz), E6400 (2.13GHz), Xeon 3040 (1.86GHz) and Xeon 3050 (2.13GHz). The stepping will change from B2 to L2 and has new SSPEC and MM, and CPUID will change from 6F6 to 6F2. A BIOS update is needed to recognize the CPUs properly.

Quoted from vr-zone.

Hope there's some way to enabled the extra 2MB cache for E6300 and E6400 whistling.gif

go for gigabyte wc 3d galaxy.. price around rm500.. great performance biggrin.gif

if u need sthing cheaper, around rm200+ , go for coolermaster aquagate mini r120.. also good.. try ur best to avoid thermaltake wc, even it offers triple radiators wink.gif

QUOTE(irenic @ Oct 22 2006, 02:50 PM)
vcore @ auto. vfsb @ 1.3 , not 1.4 as i mentioned above.

interesting thing is, intel is quite weird.. with amd, the temp only increase if the vcore is increase.. but look at what i found.

vcore @ auto on ASUS P5W DH DLX bios 1407

default speed (266x8) full load @ 37c

3.2ghz (400x8) full load @ 41c

3.3ghz (413x8) full load @ 47c

is conroe coretemp's temp increase according to clockspeed? or intel board is good at adjusting vcore when we set it at auto?
but cpuz shows the same, 1.28vcore under full load.. 1.32v during idle.
*
i used a DMM to measure my E6700.... i set vcore to auto...only change FSB.... the voltage keeps increasing.... and i think the same also clock speed affect the temp....
and i have 2 problem with P5B....
1. keeps shuttting down when i do a restart after OC or i change settings and save exit bios.... does gigabyte users has the problem??? or its really common or its a bug??? i asked tampoi he say he has the same problem also...i asked KC he say he has the same....
2. i tried to enable C1E which i believe its the power efficiency option...i know it will affects OC.... what i found out is even i enabled it and i oc it the C1E wont work anymore.... lets say i put 266 fsb x 10 and auto vcore...in idle its only 1.1Xv when load its 1.2Xv.... but after OC liao its stays stable at certain vcore...does this happen to gigabyte as well???

I told you 1000 times it is a feature of the board changing the bootstrap frequency. Its not a bug........still want to ask. lol

Bro, not to worry i believe we all face the same thing smile.gif
About the C1E, still don't encounter like what you had.... Probably that applies to Asus only?
