Ooh more ValueRam that goes past 800MHz. Prime stable?
Where'd you find the Patriot sticks?

Just curious, has anyone here tried the simple pencil vdroop mod for the DS3? VR-Zone has the guide and it looks sooooooooo simple, even a n00b like me could do it. Just connect the resistors using pencil/conductive ink and voila. Is it that easy? What were your results like?

QUOTE(jarofclay @ Aug 15 2006, 11:19 AM) If it's a 3 pin thing, I think installing some jumper pins would be better since it could help you enable or disable the feature. I will capture some pix with the mod on the Bad Axe later... BTW, have you checked XS? Normally, I'd trust the posts there more than VR. The ppl on XS were referring to the guide posted by Shamino at VR. It's not a 3 pin thing, rather its just 2 solder points on the board that need to be shorted together using conductive solder/ink/pencil. |

I'd assume for a single HDD user like myself, I won't face any issues with the DS3?
Also, I'm wondering, do any of you guys cool the MOSFETs? I'm particularly concerned about those because I've had a few P4P800s die on me ever since I switched to a Scythe Ninja and I have a sneaking suspicion it's due to MOSFET failure over time since the Ninja doesn't cool those at all. |

QUOTE(Bliz @ Sep 4 2006, 04:19 PM) If u are concerned about heat why not get DS4, better cooling at a price of RM 200 Heh I'm not paying RM200 extra just for heatpipe cooling when I have a HR-05 for the NB that will probably be way better. |

QUOTE(irenic @ Sep 5 2006, 12:18 PM) Ah moved away from Gigabyte and down the lovely Asus road eh. Yours must be the P5B Deluxe, how much did it cost? I hope it wasn't still RM1099. Btw, after removing it, what are you using now to cool MOSFETs? [OT] I'm still seeing if himmler can get me a E6300 quick, then I might get your DS3. |

@irenic: Is that on a Biostar T965 as well? Hey since it's so good, you can now sell more of your old mobos! How about your P5B Deluxe over to me at a bargain price!
Altho seriously, if the Biostar T965 can easily achieve 400+MHz FSB easily, is there any reason NOT to take it over the DS3? Other than the layout of the power connectors of course. |

Sounds like a common issue based on what I've read over at XS haha.

Infinity will only perform well if you give it a pretty strong 120mm. The fins aren't too efficient for low airflow cooling if compared to the Ninja and Ultra-120.
If you wanna go higher, well, go water. |

Anyone here did the vdroop mod for the DS3 anot? Wanna know if it helped you.
It's so easy based on VR's guide that I will probably do it if I had a DS3. |

These are the Mushkins from Cycom isit? The ones that come in plastic wrapper with no packaging?
I'm still curious if anyone at all has tried the PNY RAMs I saw in Viewnet. |
