Christian Beaten, Tortured and Killed by ISIS for Refusing to Convert to Islam

By Stoyan Zaimov , Christian Post Reporter

A member of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant waves an ISIS flag.

A Christian man in Iraq has reportedly been beaten, tortured, and killed by terror group ISIS for refusing to renounce his faith and convert to Islam.

Ankawa.com reported on Tuesday that the 43-year-old man, Salem Matty Georgis, remained in the Syriac Christian town of Bartella after it was captured by ISIS on August 7. A relative said that the man was suffering from heart disease and could not leave the town with his family because of his illness.

Georgis hid in his home for three weeks, but eventually had to venture outside in search of food. He was then confronted by an ISIS patrol in town.

"The patrol arrests him and tried to force him to convert to Islam, but he completely refused. Thus, the militants beat him and tortured him until he died in their hands," the relative explained.

The militants dumped Georgis' body, which was later discovered by a Bartella resident and buried.

ISIS, which has captured several towns across Iraq and Syria, has targeted religious minorities and many Christians, threatening followers of Christ to convert to Islam, pay a tax or be killed.

"Exactly we don't know why in this situation they killed this man," William Warda of the Hammurabi Human Rights Organization told the International Christian Concern. "Generally they have allowed people to leave, without money or documents, but alive."

Todd Daniels, ICC Regional Manager for the Middle East, said: "The international community cannot remain silent about the existential threat that Iraq's Christian communities are facing. We are witnessing the emptying of Christians from their homelands. We applaud the United Nations for meeting regarding these human rights abuses, but in the face of such horrific violence, action must be taken to ensure the protection of these communities."

ISIS has been accused of committing atrocities such as beheading children and mass rapes. Militants have posted a number of videos in the past few weeks showing the murders of hostages and other soldiers.

ISIS released a video on Tuesday showing the beheading of Steven J. Sotloff, an American journalist held hostage by the terrorist organization, in response to the U.S. launching air strikes in Iraq. Another American journalist, James Foley, was beheaded in August.

"The intelligence community will work as quickly as possible to determine its authenticity. If the video is genuine, we are sickened by this brutal act taking the life of another innocent American citizen. Our hearts go out to the Sotloff family," said State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki.

On Wednesday, U.S. officials confirmed that the video of the beheading of Sotloff is authentic.

The Islamic State, as the terror group is also known, has also been organizing children's camps where militants are said to be indoctrinating young boys into their ideology and training them to use weapons.

One 13-year-old boy, who later escaped the camp, said that he witnessed beheadings, stonings and a crucifixion that the militants carried out and forced others to watch.

"They used to bring young [kids] to the camp to lash them," the boy said. "When we go to the mosque, they order us to come the next day at a specific time and place to [watch] heads cut off, lashings or stonings.

"We saw a young man who did not fast for Ramadan, so they crucified him for three days, and we saw a woman being stoned [to death] because she committed adultery."

John 15:18 If the world hate you, you know that it hated me before it hated you.

2 Timothy 3:12 Yes, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Matthew 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you:

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

QUOTE(sonido @ Sep 5 2014, 11:03 PM)
..Just need to add some more.

I found another article of the same person. I begin to like this guy. He teaches the same thing that I truly believe in. Keep in mind, the last argument I had with the so called 'preacher' here was all come from within my own thought. No reference whatsoever from any source except the Bible (of course God was responsible to that). Until I found this guy...

~~~~~~
FREE-WILLISM PREACHES "ANOTHER JESUS"
by Daniel Parks
2 Corinthians 11:4
He who... preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached
The Jesus of Free-Willism, unlike the Jesus of gospel preachers, does not possess the love of God. Preachers of Free-Willism aver God loves everyone in exactly the same way. They therefore indiscriminately tell their hearers what no gospel preacher in Scriptures ever said: "Smile, God loves you." And they preach what no gospel preacher in Scriptures every preached: "God loves you so much He chose you for salvation, but the devil hates you so much he chose you for damnation, and you must of your own free will cast the deciding vote. And Jesus Christ loves everyone so much he died for all their sins."
The God of Free-Willism is therefore not the God of Holy Scriptures and gospel preachers. The true God does not love everyone in the same way. Rather, He hates those who go to the grave in rebellion against Him. "For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, nor shall evil dwell with you. The boastful shall not stand in your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity. You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; the LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man" (Psalm 5:4-6).
And the true God has a special love for His own people. These are they whom He of His free and sovereign grace, apart from any merit of any kind in them, chose and predestined for salvation before the foundation of the world (Eph. 1:3-6; 2 Thessalonians 2:13). They are called the Israel of God in the New Testament. God says of them, "Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you" (Jeremiah 31:3).
Preachers of Free-Willism aver their Jesus loves and died for everyone. But gospel preachers declare of the true Jesus, "Christ loved the church and gave himself for it!" He did not waste a single drop of His redeeming blood for those who will never submit to Him.
~~~~~~~~

I wonder how many of you all 'christians' believe in the free-willism. I can remember very clearly you all disagree with all my previous comments about God not loving everyone. Yeah keep doing so.. like I care.. LOL.

Anyway, adious... this is my last post here. Or so I think. heh.

Salvation of God is complete! Part 5

God's Promises are yours! 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NIV) For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.

The works of the enemy is to sow doubt. To destroy, to keep you in disbelieve, so that you live defeated life, far from God.
The work of Christ is to sow Faith, to bring you close to God.

Jesus came and did many things unprecedented, his works, never seen before in his times. (John 9:32) Why?
So that you believe there is a God. None of the High priest, Teachers of the Law could. but Christ Did.

People say in John 9:33: If this man were not from God, he could do nothing."

And God gave us many blessings and promises in the Old Testament and the New Testament. Why?
Because these are to equip you, for the victorious life that Jesus has already proclaimed in John 10:10.

Many Christians are confuse in the sense that, Yes they know John 10:10 very well that Jesus came to give life and life more abundantly. But problem is,
they don't know how, why it's not happening. And some even think the suffering like poverty and diseases is God intended to be for the believers.
This are the saying of Man not found in the Bible.

My Friends. God has already given you. Not Maybe, Not depending. EVERY Promises of God IS for you to claim and they are a Resounding Yes in Christ!

Ephesians 1:3 says: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

There are teaching in certain denominations that teaches.

The spiritual blessings are only for Israel. No, Galatians 3:7, Galatians 3:9 AND 2 Corinthians 1:20 disproves that.
The miracles of God like Healing is valid only during Jesus days. No. John 14:12 disproves that.
It has never happened to me, so it's not real. No. Read Matthew 9:29 and 2 Corinthians 4:18 for better understanding.

The things are of God are very simple but powerful. but we Man try to complicate something simple with religion, reasons, doubts, etc.
That hinders what God wants to bless you with. No. Start claiming and stand upon his word. If you have Financial needs, start claiming God's will to prosper you with the purpose to share and help others! If you are sick, Start claiming God's promises of Healing! Whatever the situation, God's promises is there for you to bring you out!

Just this week, I felt the healing as I partook Holy Communion in Calvary Convention Center, all because the Pastor made a simple statement which is the truth.
If you feel unworthy to partake, Jesus Christ has made you worthy. I simply believe without trying to even reason. This week I felt Healing in my body for an internal wound I was affected with.

Praise be to the name of our Lord Jesus who loves us graciously with all his promises are YEA and AMEN!

God Bless.

Yea internal bleeding, cough too hard with blood, been many months, seen the doctor, complete whole course of med, took a lot of rest, drank a lot of warm water.
Lost my voice. Couldn't speak with proper voice for almost 5 months. It's a miracle how I was able to lead Praise & Worship.

Finally I told God, I've done all I can, seen the doctors, etc I rest in your finished work at the cross. Bingo Last Sunday Holy Communion, healing flowed!

Many things did cross my mind but somehow I had that warm hope, knowing this is nothing is too difficult for God.

I mean sure there were days I was assaulted with fear and all that, my emotions was roller coaster but that forced me to pray more consistently.

lol, God willing maybe not so soon.

I'm believing for long life.

Whatever happens, we should always be at peace and at rest with God,

that helps keep proper perspective in the long run. I mean if time to go, it's time to go, why worry about something that's not yours to control?

as Christians we shouldn't be afraid of death, it's just like stepping from this room to the next. smile.gif
