QUOTE(alaskanbunny @ May 14 2014, 01:08 AM) I also have a friend who lost his Sg blue NRIC for the 3rd time. Totally disbelief that ppl can be so careless with such an important piece document. If it takes a whipping to wake him up, I'll say go for it. |

QUOTE(eclipsed @ May 11 2014, 08:57 PM) Just a quick question regarding obtaining an E Pass: even if you're earning less than SGD3.3k, if MOM sees you as a potential talent that they want to retain in Singapore (good degree, useful skill sets etc) you'll still be granted EP. I am Malaysian, recently graduated from a private university (accounting). If I have an offer for SGD3,200, will I be able to qualify for an E Pass? I understand that the salary requirement for an E Pass has been raised to SGD3,300. Is this strictly enforced? I took a self assessment on Singapore's MoM website and it says I am likely to qualify for both an E Pass and an S Pass. Not sure why this appears to contradict its policies... In any case, either pass will be sufficient right? Talk to your new employer. Better to have an EP |

True. Didn't know there were so many though, obviously only a small group eventually become senior managers/ directors which can command such a salary. And yes, appears that AVPs in several banks can hit 100k after bonuses. Thats with only ~5+ years of experience... gosh QUOTE(kiyomizu @ May 14 2014, 10:47 AM) even if you're earning less than SGD3.3k, if MOM sees you as a potential talent that they want to retain in Singapore (good degree, useful skill sets etc) you'll still be granted EP. QUOTE(eclipsed @ May 14 2014, 01:06 AM) Btw, any comments on some of the salaries posted in this sg forum? Common range. SG is an expensive country. Aim to get that range around 30-40 if not you will have a hard time staying here.Link: http://forums.salary.sg/income-jobs/831-ho...ng-per-annum... To be taken with a pinch of salt? Or are the 100k/200k p.a. salaries in sg that common? Banking, finance, doctor, lawyer, dentist, engineers and accountants are in that range so far I gotten from family members and close friends. Those in finance, banking can achieve this earlier. Engineering and accounting around early 30s. |

QUOTE(eclipsed @ May 14 2014, 01:06 AM) Btw, any comments on some of the salaries posted in this sg forum? $100K annual packages are quite common. I'd say 50% of the investment, financial services, MNC, Big4 at there or more.Link: http://forums.salary.sg/income-jobs/831-ho...ng-per-annum... To be taken with a pinch of salt? Or are the 100k/200k p.a. salaries in sg that common? $200K and above is where things start to narrow down. And it narrows down very, very rapidly once you pass $250-300K. |

QUOTE(seantang @ May 14 2014, 11:17 AM) Good news!!! Although there's no convenient way to get from Senai to Singapore. And definitely no reliable way (timing-wise) to get from Singapore to Senai. AA took years to post an official statement of AA shuttle bus from SG to Senai. The mode of transport is the same for the official shuttle bus and the unofficial one before. Board Causeway link at Queen Street or Kranji, transfer to hourly scheduled Causeway link airport bus at CIQ to Senai. Some rumours said they are not allowed to do so officially before because restrictions from SG side. The shuttle bus took some business from Changi, saw some SG locals and ang mohs travelling on the same bus from SG to Senai.I hope Firefly organises a shuttle bus for each flight timing. |

Thanks for your reply again Alaskan bunny. I decided to go with company A after taking into account of future job prospect.
I have another question. Can someone help me out? My company is applying for a pass for me and the official website says it is going to take 5 weeks. However, is 5 weeks really what it takes or will it be maybe 3-4 weeks? This is just so i can plan for anything-Singapore. |
