Don't forget to get the BR's ATM COOP card, you just need to pay one time fee RM 8.00;
and you can put joint name on the ATM card if you wish.

With this ATM card, you can access to iRakyat.com.my internet banking to view all your
accounts and all transactions, and you can IBG fund from irakyat which cost you only 10
cent per IBG, but limit to RM 5000 per day.

Can share which branch offers better FD rate?
The gifts are not so valuable la, I suggest to go for the better rate..
*
I already have the ATM COOP card & online account but they just charged me RM 5 for renewal fee this year.

Section 14 branch gives the nego rate. Once I was Damansara Utama branch there was an uncle who haggled very long only got the nego rate so don't think I want to spend so much time doing that.

Well, Parker pen is worth about RM60-RM70 i think so it would be more worthwhile than the nego rate for RM100k.
Anyhow, it depends on luck as this round Section 14 branch also said no nego rate declared for this month yet when I went there.

BR's ATM Co-op card should be no annual fee. They did not charge me for it.

Nego rate, I was told is from 50k onwards. But heard from others that diff BR branch seems to practice differently. shakehead.gif

Went to BR today. BM & ABM were not around, so no one to authorise FD placement & upliftment doh.gif Wasted one hour of my time shakehead.gif

A few things that I became aware of:
1. At the moment, for certain BR branch, even a RM100K FD placement would not make a depositor worthy for a better rate.

2. BR staff can tell you straight in the face that their branch have run out of stock for gifts, but when you let them know that you'd like to place a six-figure amount of FD, out of the blue, they can magically find a way for a gift to make its appearance in front of you. Happened to me twice...different BR branch yo...probably their SOP...should have recorded the whole episode of my conversation with the staffs in HD video...their acting skills & facial expressions really ini maciam yo thumbup.gif

3. magika The previous FD premature rate that you have in your possesion is no longer in use. Currently BR is using the same FD board rate for premature FD withdrawal. But didn't ask for its specific calculation if the withdrawal is done in days & not months.

4. aeiou228 Regarding one of your post about some banks giving slightly lower deposit rate than published board rate for large amount deposit, I asked BR staff the same question. According to them, it only applies to commercial banks. With BR, the larger the amount, the higher the chance to get higher rate laugh.gif

Been very occupied with work, hardly have time to check in here. Why the sudden interest in BR again (based on what I see in the last many messages)?

Yes, I received all mubeen's dividends on 1st of June.
I noticed BR credited in between 6.45am to 7.00am on 1st June  biggrin.gif

About the ATM card, I asked local BR branch and the counter staff said have to pay RM8 annual fee. What's the difference?

You guys did not survey enough.

Best EVER Savings account is Maybank eSaver-i,
Interest of 0.4% less than 2k,
2.1% for less than 20k.... or
2.3% more than 20k...
Best FD at the Moment. (ALL are PIDM insured)
1. Maybank 1mth FD is 3.20%PA
2. Short Term is Standard Chartered is giving 3.5%PA for 6mths.
3. HLBB is giving 3.63%PA effective for 12mths. Min 10k.

Calculate the effective rates.. not the Stupid Promo rates of 8.88% for certain conditions & months.... when effective/average rates turn out to be 3.0%...

BLR is going up next month perhaps 0.25% ... That's why, don't place long term yet... I place a few hundred K in Maybank 1mth FD of 3.20%, to be move to another higher level next month.

Good Luck...
*
QUOTE(nsx88 @ Jun 10 2014, 01:31 PM)
As usual.. I like Maybank because I transfer a lot to other MBB accounts holders. So its faster and free. The amount of cash sitting in the account is less than 50k... Anything more will be in FD... So MBB savers will serve me well. You can even do eFD online.

Affin pays slightly more, but in my case, the 10cents per GIRO and waiting time for others to received the money is not acceptable.

PBB effective rates are a JOKE.... Best place in OCBC or HLBB.

If u want the best rates for long term... PUT into KWSP... Max is RM60,000 per year at 6%, no one can beat that.. Its guaranteed also by the Government...
*
Wow, looks like a big timer, please give us more tips in the future. Doing some sort of business transaction in MBB ? hmm.gif

I also like KWSP, but max 60k per year only. smile.gif

Redeem on 8 Sept. smile.gif

Also BR is more stingy on gifts already. Last time the counter staff can give out the gift freely, now it seems need to go through the ABM. Not sure of other branches though. sad.gif

Ya, but they have 2 versions of Parker pens smile.gif . One looks more expensive than the others. So depends on which one they give you.

have lots of umbrellas already; a pen or two won't hurt, esp the expensive parker pens! brows.gif

this weekend have another free umbrella to collect for vios service. with el nino bringing no rain, can use to shelter against the hot sun only! blink.gif

since paid RM5.15 for the HLB chq, the BR umbrella is just a consolation... icon_idea.gif

I got a plain solid white colour & one clear blue version but both are plastic on the outside so don't think will be much different in price

Yes, exactly! When I was there, there was another guy negotiating for a free gift but they said none at all & he even asked if BR can owe him the gift but cannot.
But when I placed my FD, suddenly out came an umbrella without asking though no nego rate.

Hohoho...BR's gift trick finally revealed. I received an umbrella as well...just curious, did you deposit a 6-figure amount of FD to be eligible for the umbrella?

... I think it has to be in one lump sum in one cert, and not split amount into multiple cert although it add up to a amount that you are entitle to negotiate ... that was what I was told ... then again like someone have said here before -- anything from BR is not ink in blood ... they can "syok-syok-wan" here and there ... in one year they can drop their rates twice ... just like share market, fix deposit also depend on your risk appetite ... smile.gif ...

I believe should be the 6 figure deposit & total deposit since they already checked when I requested for nego rate.

The branch I bank at minimum for nego rate is RM 100k & this time when I asked, they said no nego rate allowed yet for June. Very suspicious as previously no problems getting it.

Ha ha, BR has local land lord at each location practicing diff policy or did they change their policy too often ?? hmm.gif

Anyway, I am looking at diversifying to MBSB in few months time as well. BR seems to be more unpredictable to me. My branch BM & ABM both transferred and have not met with the new management yet. shakehead.gif Have set up good rapport with previous BM & ABM. But now they are gone. shakehead.gif
