hmm, haven't try 32M yet...

But, when I try to push my clock spd higher than 2.4GHz, the whole system become unstable and will restart automatically...

Is this the sign of not enough Vcore? I tried to put 1.5 Vcore and push the clock to 2.6GHz, then my comp restart automatically while I try to stress test...

cyrus2k!
u r using am2 3600+ rite?

as what i've mentioned many times in various threads, L2 cache size doesn't make impact on K8 performance, especially with super bandwidth DDR2 provided, small L2 cache is not an issue and does not give any significant performance hit in real life usage.

Cyrus2K, elaborate your setting.

3600+ @ 260 x 10= 2.6GHz, 1.5 Vcore
HTT Multi 3x

Memory:
DDR533 divider (Timing auto), 2.0Vdimm

Dunno what is limiting my cpu now... hopefully not my mobo or proc doh.gif

EDIT: Well, this is my 32M results @ 2.4GHz biggrin.gif

Firstly, install the latest AMDX2 optimizer patch (AMD website) if you haven't installed it. Not sure whether it fix anything besides optimize the performance, well just to be safe.

Secondly, for each voltage increament... try SuperPi 8M and test it by increasing Mhz little by little until you meet instability, then you up the voltage by 1 notch. That will prevent you from feeding voltage where it's just unnecessary.

Thirdly, while leaving your memory timings at AUTO, just set the command per clock at 2T.

Fourthly, watch out for the temperature.

Lastly, have you flashed to the latest BIOS?

2600/8=325 ~ 650DDR.. not even need 2.0v should 1.8v..
try 255 first la..

currently i study my rig setting...
if more 250fsb.. with 3x htt mul the ram need more voltage..
cpu mul set as 9 or 8..
weird even by calculation the ram not more than 667 (default) but cpu still can use default or no more than 1.4v...

so i decided maybe mem divider controller got conflict or cpu it self not really great on downward multiplier... or maybe the mobo prob..

currently i set 250fsb with 10x.. HTT Mul=4 vCpu=1.4

250x10=2500

2500/8=312.5 ~ 625DDR @1.8v 4-4-4-12 1T..

last night just stress about 1 hour..
will try to test with more fsb..

Well, now had installed the dual core optimizer. I had also flashed into the newset BIOS (using the windows flashing utility)

Thanks for the advice on voltage increment, now I found that my proc could run at 255x10 = 2.55GHz @ 1.425 Vcore thumbup.gif
But there is one starnge thing I found; when I put the 1.425 Vcore in Bios, it will show as 1.440 Vcore in cpuz. Does this mean my mobo giving some extra Vcore to the proc?

At 2.55GHz, I could pass super pi 8M & 32M but unable to get pass Stress Prime after 5 minutes...

At 2.6GHz @ 1.45 Vcore, could not pass 8M (restart automatically)..

I dunno whats limiting my comp now... rclxub.gif

ur ram limiting u.. try resetting back..
maybe ur case like mine.. requires vdimm more or something...
or even cpu reach the limit..

u try prime using cpu stress first.. can surpase 5 minutes or not..

anyone using tt blue orb?? i dunno which version but saw it at Sri Comp..!!
Read it and it support AM2 Socket..!! the price also not bad, only RM149 at Sri Comp (maybe other shop selling cheaper)

If someone use this, can tell about the performance??

juz look here

hem not quite sure whether actually can use or not
but if based on this review it surely can

You can pass 32M, but failed prime...

My tips is check the ram first. Use BIOS built-in memtest and let it run for a while and see whether got error or not. If there is error, you need to tweak the RAM a bit more, loosen the 'special timings' or add voltage 1 notch if needed.

If there is no error, try add slightly more cpu voltage like 1 notch for example. And try prime whether can pass already or not. If you can pass the test for like 1-2hour but will get error after that, back off 1MHz off the FSB and try run CPU Burn-in (no error detection) for 8hours, then try add 1MHz again.

Let me join the crowd. Accidentally press the ok button when finish pi. So just put the main screen with final time when the benchmark end. Will try with higher fsb later.

I wouldn't recommend MSI if you really want to OC. If normal usage then no problem.

i really wish to make this machine faster
and i can't seem to find articles on how to OC sempron machines sad.gif

btw, what things do i need to change after OC?
