DDR2-667 or DDR2-800, that depends on memory controller, not motherboard. I run mine ar DDR2-800 no problem at all, if you saw my screenshot of SuperPi 32M stable a few pages earlier.

Peace be upon you all.

Anyone here use MSI K9A Platinum? I've read the review of this board at Anandtech and it seems that the overclocking potential is huge.

QUOTE
MSI reached one of the higher overclocks in our roundup, topping out at 335x9. At stock 12x the board maxed out at 258. Both of these are a bit lower than the ASUS with its 8-phase power regulation, but results are still remarkably close to the ASUS considering this is a cheaper board and a much simpler design. Most of the credit for the overclocking performance should go to the ATI RD580 chipset. The K9A was very stable at the fastest 335 speed. Perhaps just as important, the MSI recovered gracefully from bad overclocks - allowing a reboot and entry into the BIOS to fix the settings from a bad OC.

Is there anyone who know how much this board cost? I'm now hunting for suitable mobo for my new rig, which possibly consist of AM2X2 3600+, 7600GT, 1Gb single 677 RAM (Add another 1Gb later for dual channel).

I will definitely going to overclock this X2 which is possible to OC to ~2.4-2.6 region by air cooling. I fell in love with M2N-E but the VDimm as you guys pointed out just max at 1.95 - that is huge limitation for OCing.

If the price of MSI K9A Platinum is right, i think I'll go for it.

Too bad. I think I can just ask any shop which sell MSI products and ask for K9A platinum @vailability & price.

In the other hand, Epox 570SLi is also an excellent overclocker (based on anandtech review). However, I highly doubt I can find this mobo anywhere in Malaysia.

Cheap psu often undervolts under stress. Stress here does not refer to your system load, but more on how the whole system struggles to get quality voltage when overclocked or running out of specification.

With cheap psu, +12v rail may only provide 11.3v under overclock condition.
