Got..AMD's one is called Pacifica..available in all AMD CPUs since mid 2006 (basically most of the AM2 procs).

Oh yes, another beneift of virtualization is that when one of the OS running on the system crashes, it the remaining OS running will not be affected. If I'm not mistaken, on top of that the you can run several instances of the same OS, don't need to install several different OS to use virtualization.

try TC's "Core Temp" - A program for accurate K8 temperature monitoring
it monitors the cpu proc with internal component.
So far my my case, the reading is a lil different ftrom mobo's probe wink.gif

sorry for quoting old post... anyone using CoreTemp here?

is it core0+core1 temp= cpu temp? hmm.gif

Brisbane's DTS spoiled already as claimed by AMD.
Therefore, the core temp which is shown in the CoreTemp is no long correct smile.gif

For Brisbane, the only temperature you can rely on is ur CPU Temp. But that reading is not the hottest temp as CoreTemp.

Mid-powered peltiers.. by that how many watts you meant? Peltier ain't something easy to play with actually, better do some reading before trying anything. tongue.gif
But hey.. challenges bring fun. wink.gif

some minor update

user posted image

the system cannot pass 2.6GHz with both ram.. sweat.gif
last time i tried with only one brand, i managed to get to 2.7GHz..
well, i guess thats it..2.5GHz with DDR1000 is already fine with me.. smile.gif

PS - i mistakenly showed the slot 1 and 2 twice..it should be slot 3 and 4, which are the slot for corsair's..uhm..nevermind i guess cool.gif

I've used a 130W with an XP-120 before, couldn't get it to run at 130W, only around 70W because can't find a 15V supply for it.

No kidding. The real problem is A64's put out damn low heat on idle, even fans are not required on idle when using stock heatsink. Things get real interesting when you add a peltier-think sub zero as a possiblity (for the 320W peltier sold in CPU, motheboards section, I think sub zero for full load may even be possible, but watercooling required for the peltier's hot side).

But of course, that comes with a catch..remember what you see on a glass with an ice drink? I had to pull the plug before any damage was done.

wah sai..u din insulate ur board first ar x_x ....320w is crazy la too much ade...with air cooling = melt ur heatsink...and fan lol....unless ur using water cooling la thumbup.gif

i see, but i got a shipment of 91.2w peltiers, specs are in my sig for sale thread =b

the calculations i have for my bros new 3800+x2 proc if i oc it to 3000ghz and 1.45vcore max

35*((3000/2000))*(1.45/1.25)square = 70w

So Actual Delta T
= (1 -(70/91.2)) x 67C
= (1 -0.767543) x 67C
= 15.574619C

15.5C is perfect condition (100% efficiency) but life not perfect mar so:
15.5C x 65% = 10.075c

assuming the artic cooler64 can maintain room temperature of 30c
30c-10c = 20c

is this correct ar?

still blur la me x_x....maybe i should get those 130w or more rated pelts? but they draw too much power la x_X

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Btw, how much was the temp diff before and after ur pelt?
