HEyya, can i join the party ar? i just got an amd system, below ar the specs:

x2 4200+ windsor F2
abit kn9 ultra
1x kingston kvr667
stock cooler

nola din buy at pc fair, but bought on the day of pc fair, coz my gf lazy to go pc fair, so i bought at digital mall =/

yea i did try OCing it, but im new to amd systems so i dint OC much, below is the spec which i managed to do..and dont mind pc wizards temperature, IDK why its liddat =/

and any ideas on how i can improve it further?

wont boot but strangely, when i keep multi at 9.5, i can up the fsb speed to 258 x 9.5, but if i do 250x 10, it wont boot, and is 8450 score for 3dmark03 with all tests @ 1024x768 low for my setup? =/

yay managed to get it to 2.5ghz! (nothing to shout about though compared to sifu sifu here)

its at stock voltage, HTT multi at 4x and well...its a little hot though(stock cooler mar)

how can i improve it further? if i set HTT multi to 3x the HTT speed will be 250 x 3 = 750 right? if HTT speed is low, will it affect stability/performance?

its running at 38 on idle and 55 on load...funny thing is i noticed the voltage jump from 1.344v ~ 1.389v up and down...prolly bcoz i got a crappy psu (came with casing LOL)
so will probably keep it at stock speeds until i get a new psu

Btw, does amd's Cool and quiet shortens the lifespan of a CPU? bcoz i noticed a drop to 900mhz and 1.1v and when i load cpu it goes back to stock 2.2 and a jump to 1.360v...isnt jumps like that damagng to CPU's?

ouh oke, but if i dont OC for the moment due to insufficient cooling and a crappy psu, does it hurt the cpu if it keeps dropping and upping itself at stock speeds?

eh add rm30 or so and get the kn9 ultra and join me mar

rm300...and when i said add rm 30 was based on last saturdays price cz the kn9s was rm 270

Btw, if my cpu voltage jumps within 1.344~1.378 under idle (no OC) is it the psu problem?

waaa 28c ..is he using stock cooler or what? and what is his room temperature like.... and did he bump up his htt voltage, ram voltage or chipset voltage?

just a quick question, whats the max temp for am2 x2 4200+ windsor core? and am2 x2 3600+ brisbane? before it meltsdown la lol...

haha, ok, because my friend bought brisbane 3600+ and was wondering how far it can go xD....

btw, i now recalled that my cpu has a assembled in china or made in china stamped on it...but i forgot the codes on it >_>...any feedback on the made/assembled in china parts?

looks good wut ...but how come ar, my 4200 am2 @2.3ghz takes 43 sec to finish 1m pi calculation....200mhz more makes such a big difference ar?

Actually hor, to use fully use the HyperTransport 3.0 and HTransport, u would ahve to saturate all the sub-systems, like GC SLI, sound card, GigaLAN and Raid, other then that normally you would use only 1400~1800 at most (playing games and stuff) correct me if im wrong though =)



DDR3 is expected to be released on 4Q07~3Q08...i read it somewhere, let me recall then i can post the link =D....

yes am2+ will be using ddr2...at least the first generation of am2+ la...

i have a question ar, we all overclock kau kau...but have we ever tried to make a fanless CPU ar? Currently im testing out lower voltages at stock speed and trying to make a fanless cpu (experiment mar) anyone care to join me? =D

some dun wan so much performance mar..can boot up, surf web can d lor...not alwiz play game mar

but from my current test, i sacrifice 6%performance for an additional 25% lower temp on stock HSF, maybe can even go lower? anyway, gotta wait till my water block comes in b4 i OC/UC kau kau >_>
