sanadi Thanks, that's very useful.
In my case, unfortunately it seems I have ordered something similar. The new version is v2.1 IINM. But, these are all cloned anyway, since an original ELM327 costs much more.

u will be surprised if u only pump half tank instead of full tank for city drive, u will get more mileage...
*
that can actually be quite true...

1L = 1KG

if 20L less = 20KG lesser does actually make quite a significant difference for start-stop driving

But there is also another factor to consider = evaporation.

I'm not sure how the actual calculation to work out on this but you will have to work out the balance.

Half tank petrol shaves off 30kg @ 0.75kg/l, give or tank.
Though sometimes it's not the weight that improves the FC.

Do you have data?
*
if u want data, go ahead and google around or test it yourself.
what i said is based on my own testing without recording down the data.
driving around for two years, first year pump to full tank and 2nd year pump half tank in city drive.

my observation is full tank in city drive can get not more than 400km mileage, while half tank in city drive i can get around 200-250km mileage.
u can choose not to take my data~less observation.
but it is my experience.

another "weird" observation of mine is,
the travel is from PG-KL and KL-PG with same weight (me and my bro-in-law, no extra things/luggage) and used auto-cruise at 110km/h all the way
PG - KL >> used 5 bars of fuel
KL - PG >> used 3 bars of fuel

i observed this "behaviour" for few times ady, and i asked around whether its my own car "behave" like that or others' car "bahave" like that also.
but i didnt get satisfied result as some said the route KL-PG is more flat compare to PG-KL is more hilly.

Along the journey, I guess one direction have more roads going uphill than the other.

It depends on the tank station. Even same brand some tank station will give more/less km than others.

My Google results show it is urban myth, unsubstantiated with data.
This is not my first time looking into this idea, but I'm open to new findings.
Theories are abound, no less.
This is my search term "half tank full tank mileage".

Personally, I've measure these few methods:
- Full tank and refuel at empty
- First half tank and refuel
- Second half tank and refuel at empty

My data shows that there is no long term difference. I now drive with full tanks, stopping the refuel as the pump clicks to stop.
Newer cars, Preve included I presume, have fuel tank pressure relief, by sending petrol fumes to air filter box, that's why when you open petrol cap, there is no escaped pressure.
In theory, the extra fume burnt off, are compensated by reduced fuel at injector, as it can be detected by O2 sensor.
My recent experience didn't observe this.

Perhaps it's more to do with elevation? Penang is 3m above sea level, and KL is 21.95m.
Or, different brands of petrol? In my data, brand P******* is better than S****, E***, B** and C*****. However, other drivers may not agree based on their experience

Also, the time when you travel plays a role, too. Example: If PG-KL is in the morning, vs KL-PG in the afternoon.
Factors: Air density higher when cool, air con usage longer when hot, etc. My RM0.02.
*
no long term difference?
hmm...maybe for u only...but for me, with RM50 i can go at least 200km, or 250km+- compare to RM100 i can go no more than 400km...but this is city drive
for highway drive, full tank or half tank same, no difference.

i only pump petron, unless no choice ady no more blinking, pump other brand.
why ur data need to hide the brand name?

for the KL-PG and PG-KL route, i used only Petron RON95. i believe it is more to elevation. but where u get this elevation data from google search? can share the link?

petronas for my car give s best mileage, then BHP/Petron, then Shell, then Caltex (all RON95).
but difference car difference characteristics, i tested all brand petrol as soon i get my car.
now, for my car, Petron gives better mileage and acceleration (based on my feeling), even though Petronas gives best mileage but no power and makes engine noisy when accelerate.

forgot to add, travel at what time also same, still 5 bars PG-KL and 3 bars KL-PG

arthur88Perhaps I'll try Petron. I hide the brands to avoid coming up on google search, and I'm sure the readers know what we're talking about.
I'm testing the 2nd half tank theory with my current car, Exora Bold CFE, roll up at 4th refuel I got 10.66L/100km.
Later test with 1st half tank and see.

On the elevation:
Google keyword: Penang, Elevation = 9' 10" (3.00 m)
Other links:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Town,_Penang (4m)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geography_of_Kuala_Lumpur (Average 21.95 m)

Agreed..If you don’t mind the inconvenience, only fill your tank half-full. Less fuel means less weight. smile.gif

I pump up to the brim on weekend for 5% credit card weekend cashback + 2% credit card points equivalent + 1.5% Petron points equivalent, totaling on 8.5% discount when I fill up on weekends. laugh.gif

If short drive, the fan may not continue to spin after shutting engine. If I travel to KL, definitely it runs for about a minute.

That's normal, the fan will only spin after the engine stopped if necessary.

Just do a regular service, and avoid the magnetrap if they offer you (usually they will show you the list of services and the costs first before they proceed to service your car).

If I were you, I will get Syntium 5000 (5/30) for 10k millage, but if they don't have it then get the Syntium 800 for 5k millage.

All in all the service should cost you RM 150+- (without the magnecrap).

its like a ring with magnet which will be fixed around your oil filter. just avoid it. they will show demo to you using a water bottle.. our oil filter can do the same thing without the magnetrap.

You can get the service schedule and items in page 1 ..

Just make sure you only change what's necessary and not any additional/optional thing

avoid X1R at ALL COST

hi guys,
great day. is that still true all Preve come WITHOUT tyres alignment and balancing? my SA said if you not send in SC by before 500km, the service charge will be apply to owner after this mileage clock. i'm wondering if this statement is valid then why Proton didn't take it as a MUST before handover the new car to buyer??? sad....
