Upon a renew of premiermiles AF which is around rm 600++( ** include gst) , Citibank will credit 10,000 point to your account, isn't good deal?
*
RM636 for 10,000 Premiermiles is a good deal? You can't even get 10k Enrich Miles for 10k Premiermiles.

Anyway, just some updates. I tried to call CTB to ask for AF waiver on My Premiermiles but was told no promotion at the moment. She told me i can either sign up dial for cash or balance transfer for a minimum amount of RM5000 to get the AF waiver for this card. She also mentioned that another option to get waiver is to convert this card to CitiBank Rewards Card which is a bloody joke!

haha..happy 2k post.

i spent close to 80k last year, from experience is this substantial enough to ask for af waiver? or just too little for citibank to consider?
*
Previous year i spend around RM 20K. Manage to get AF wavied. This year spending definitely much more lower and AF due July. Hope they will still waive for me.

But they CS also told me need to call very close to your AF due only they can 100% got any "promotion" to waive for you. Call too early (example: 1 month earlier) is waste of time (my experience)

That is selling the PremierMiles to you only. Reject and ask for AF waiver for you to consider keep the card

experts; i have a situation here, i applied a Citibank Platinum VISA & Platinum Reward card with a very specific requirement of getting a high credit limit.

But after i got the card, the limit is just 54k. Ok thats fine and all, so i called customer service and they said i can't increase limit and have to wait 6 months first.

Now, the reason why i even applied this card is to swipe an 80k+ item. Can I make a 40k CC Payment from my Maybank to Citibank when I don't owe any money to citibank credit card?

The purpose of that is to push my total available balance to 94k. (means actual limit 54k, and I transfer 40k from Maybank to Citibank as CC payment)

Will it work? Anything to be wary of?

I'm asking because i know my own Maybank don't allow me to "pay" into my CC account when i don't owe anything. So I was hoping Citibank will have different regulations regarding this...

*ps - I swear to god i'll cancel this card after i got their promo item as well, i feel ashamed just to be associated with anything Citibank related, their service is just rubbish, and even that's an understatement.
*
The answer is no.

Quite ironic that you feel ashamed to be associated with citibank and yet you still applied two credit cards.

If you are willing to transfer RM40K cash to your Citibank, why not just swipe RM54K (your total credit limit) and pay with cash from your Maybank account for the remaining amount? Otherwise some retail shops may also allow you to combine 2 credit cards and pay the RM80k+? I am sure you have credit card from another bank right?

Today is day 3 of my holding this citibank card, and i've already had such impression on them. Ironic? Not a bit. This just shows how fast citibank establish their bad reputation towards new customer.

The only reason i applied for citibank is for the free promotional offer item (and to swipe a hobby item without being discovered from my nagging wife)

just swipe with different cards lo most of the merchant allow

or u might borrow from me and pay me cash on the spot tongue.gif

That's the thing. Was it because they deny you the high CL thus causing you to have such impression or you already have prior experience with them before this?

1. Yes, the requirement i placed to them is very simple, minimum 3 months of monthly epf'able income. If that cannot be met - just consider my application void. However i have received a few calls saying "oh yes yes yes that's very easy, why not apply our infinity card also, will push your limit even higher" Up until when i got the letter and look at the laughable credit limit.

2. Called their CS, and after a few questions regarding overlimit, card intrest, annual fees etc - the customer service HANG UP my call.

3. This is just day 4 of holding a citibank account, yet i already received 2-3 calls on so called "promotional" offers from citibank. Do you know it's annoying?
Point 1, they outfront LIED.

Point 2, incompetent CS. CS is your company's image, yet you hire someone who knows nothing, cannot even converse in a formal sentence. I even got answers like "You will know when you will know lah", "When system pass, then pass lah, how i know?"

Point 3, terrible product pusher, inconvenience to my daily life. I'm picking up a call, thinking it's something related to my personal life or business, and ends up a waste of fking time telemarketers.

Point 4, almost all of my friends don't have a Citibank account, reason is because they also heard of bad reputation amongst their own friends, and they told me more bad things about Citibank after i tell them what's happening the past week, and hey, they've just heard an additional bad remark about citibank from myself!

There's a reason why so many people are saying bad things about Citibank, and now i know it firsthand. Cancelling my card after getting their free promo item (maybe that's fake advertising from Citibank?).

It will worth much less effort to cancel all accounts and stop dwelling on this irrelevant bank. What's done is done, and lesson learned.

1. Did you make a black and white remark in your application that if they are not able to meet the CL, then the application is void? and for most banks, the cc approval, CL matters are assigned by a different department.

2. File a complain rather than venting it here. I would.

3. Did you untick the box about receiving promotional/marketing stuffs? I think I did and I never receive such call.

I heard CL allotted computation is different.

Salary based income is 3X of basic. This is what i got exactly the same.

Commission based income calculated differently. I lazy ask my friend how to calculate.

some agents saying getting a higher card just to get a higher limit is usually a hoax
agents only wanna get you a higher card due to commissions.

"salary based income is 3X of basic" is wrong
my credit limit is about 236k
does that mean i earn 78k month?
hell no!
