i thought so too... i did asked politely and i get responses from the CS in such manner

"currently there is no offer for AF waiver and there is NO POINT FOR US TO CONTINUE THIS CONVERSATION because there will be no waiver for the annual fee offered by the bank"

I am now redeeming all the remaining points to enrich and gonna cut this card...

did call again? maybe the guy was having his period or his gf dumped him (excuse the sarcasm)
you don't need to be super polite as long as you're not rude
you are not going on a date. it is consumer banking.

or i suspect maybe something is special about your case.
80k for premier miles should not be a problem at all.

lolx... i did put a request to ask for cancellation and they will call back again during weekdays
may b i try calling again tomorrow if they can reconsider my request...

if there is anything special, i did miss my payment for 2 times due to timing difference in transferring the funds to citibank for 1 or 2 days...which i was granted waiver for interest back then...apart from that i did pay on time...

Just curious, I have recently tried to apply for a Citibank card.

My income on papers are definitely above their requirement but since it's my 1st year at work, I don't have any commitment ( car fully paid up, no housing loan since not found the right property and no credit card except for Maybank which was given free ), the person over the phone told me that I'm not qualified to apply for a Citibank card because I don't have any loans, debts or whatever.

He asked me to try again sometime soon ( 1 year or so ). Just curious whether anyone faced such situation before.

have the same issue on Citibank as i'm working on local company, not those international or MNC company...

if you're working on local company, they required you to have loan or other credit card with good repayment history to get your citibank card approve.

if you're working on international company, can get approve very easy.

my friend working in international company have lower salary than me also can get but i can't get.. (so annoying..)

so i go apply MBB 2 card, get approve for platinum card... brows.gif

hello

any premiermiles visa signature user here that recently got your annual fees waiver. i tried asking the customer service to waive but in a very bad tone i was told there is no such offer now...just want to reconfirm if there are any successful case as i did swipe substantially using this card and would thought i can get away for the annual fee =p

I got AF waiver for both principle n supp cards 3 mths ago. My yearly spend was < rm 8000. I called for waiver b4 AF was due surprisingly approved. However needed to use points to redeem GST.

Anyone won any gift? I think it is time to cancel my citibank card... Too many rich ppl holding this bank credit card! I get around 20 alphabets in total. After deduct those overlapping alphabets, I still have 12. But not a single gift that I get. My first and also my last for citibank cc contest ..

i think you don't use your card often or not enough payment behaviour in the last 6 months.
maybank might have given you perhaps because your salary goes in there?

i don't think it has anything directly to do with MNC or non MNC
i don't think they discriminate that way.
FYI if i open a chinaman company in Singapore and a branch in KL, technically it is MNC also.
it depends on the company. they tend prefer companies that are reputable (which includes many MNCs)
this is true for CIMB as well since I have worked there before.
imagine....anyone can open a sdn bhd and hire staff these days.
so if you work for a small firm it is not so favorable from risk assessment perspective
so maybe that's why

why don't you screw maybank instead for not getting you cinema tickes and coffee?
for maybank try to aim for visa signature at least (if you cannot get visa infinite or world master card)

Irregularities does show with Citi.

I know few person who earns less than me but works for some slightly more famous company got approved while having lesser income on papers and debts too.

I could just get a VS from Maybank easy but I don't fancy the annual fees + I want the Citi card for cinema usage only.

VS don't offer me that.

you are welcome smile.gif

just to update the rest, another friend of mine was charged AF for the same card. And same reason was given and no waiver will be entertained non-regardless of amount spent

suggest all cardholders of premiermiles try to call before AF being charged or just cancel the blarrdee card coz the access to premium lounge is so limited to some of the other premier cards out there

good luck ppl !

Upon a renew of premiermiles AF which is around rm 600++( ** include gst) , Citibank will credit 10,000 point to your account, isn't good deal?

Biggest con ever. 600 ringgit is worth 180 000 points last time. Now even that no more as points encashment rates have changed. Please refer to the first post.
