Sounds like you accidentally asked for 2 Zing cards. RM10 fee is charged upon card issuance, which will be before collection time.

Sorry guys, need some help on Maybank AMEX. If i do purchasing online using AMEX at foreign website (ex. Levi's US) which do accept AMEX, will i get 5x point too? The 5x cash rebate will only valid if the processed transaction fall on weekend, am i correct?

Yes to both questions... the Weekend 5% is based on Malaysian weekend (Sat & Sun)

Not necessary, I did a transaction overseas (US) where local time is around Fri evening and Malaysia time is Saturday early morning (7am). My transaction is still show on Fri.

Yes, then after sometime you will get fraud case on your card. AMEX's security are quite poor on this. That's why I use Paypal for online transaction, once done, I'll remove the card from the Paypal account.


Well, if just phone line, it is rm30 only. But with screamyx, it will be > rm60. Just change the thing and you are good to go. Last time when I register the account, I also think which to choose, but because it is phone+scramyx, I choose phone+multimedia direct

i just received replacement card for AMEX. Getting card with "maybankard" word instead of maybank.

(I am only eligible to apply for the gold cards)

1) No cashback given on weekdays at all?
2) If the place accept AMEX, then confirm I will get the 5X points?
3) AMEX can be used for online payments? (umobile bill, lelong.com.my purchases, TNB bill)
4) Not listed but just in case someone already went to these places, could you tell me if you still get 5% or not:
- Shell station section 17 IZZARA/CHIN NYIT SIN
5) I know the points can be used to rebate GST (12500 for RM50), but other than that any use for it? I'm considering whether or not to get another card (ocbc titanium) for non-weekend transactions if the points are not very useful. Any forums that has the full list of claimable items?

1. only TP X1 for both cards on weekdays.
2. on weekends only you'll be getting 5X, amex not accepted in lot of places. But with Maybank credit card reader, it should able to.
3. I'm using it to pay my TNB, TM only. You need to have Maybank2u account, register like normal then under bill payment you can select which account to be used. Usually it will show 3 accounts(your saving account, master and AMEX). Select AMEX, if you can see the payee account is there, then you can pay, else you can't. Indah water cannot on this case.
4. As long as the petrol pump able to read your card, then you can enjoy that 5% on weekends
5. If your monthly spending are > rm1000, suggest you apply for WISE for petrol(and another that you use the most).

You are giving WRONG information. 5x TP for AMEX is EVERYDAY. Additional 5% cash back for AMEX is during weekends only. Read 1st post.

Refer to the TP catalogue to see what items can be redeemed. Only apply for OCBC and/or Wise if you will gain benefits from them. Refer to their features.

If you plan majority of your spending on weekends, you'll gain more using Amex than Visa/MC.

Amex's 5X TPs is equivalent to 2% (in TPs), higher than OCBC Ti's 1% (in cashback). Effectively, Amex in weekends give you 5% in cashback and 2% in TPs, that's 7% worth of gain each month..

If you have other cards to complement, e.g. OCBC Titanium or HLB Wise, then use those for weekdays and/or higher spending.

Yup, is my bad on not looking properly on that, read the T&C from maybank and they never say anything, just 5X. I thought was X1 on normal days.
