hey, wanna ask, i just paid for an online transaction with my AMEX (in foreign currency) and i was charged an extra USD1. thought it was just that particular website. then i made another purchase on a different website and again i was charged this extra USD1. i'm about to make my third purchase and am wondering what this extra charges are for or if i should use another card.

anyone knows why?
*
Sounds like floating charge.

i didn't get that error it just says to use another card but i'll try again this weekend as I ask the merchant to manually issue the invoice to me using paypal
*
You cannot use Amex for Paypal RM transactions. The error message is already in clear English.

hmm.. every time i called to ask to waive the GST.. they refused to and say cant do..
how do you get them to waive it?
*
She didn't said she had it waived. For MBB, your odds of getting GST waived is next to zero.

Thanks for the reply!

They should enable it for online purchasing as well. It is so hard to find good seats when buying over the counter near showtimes.  vmad.gif

You understand they actually want to limit the number of people taking advantage of the promo, yes?

Haven't got the Zing card yet, I download the application form from maybank2u website, and walk in submission at One U card centre. Form got it from here: http://www.maybank2u.com.my/WebBank/ConvCa...Form_260613.pdf

Refer to session 6, Maybank Touch n Go Zing Information, there asking me want to link to which CC, I ticked Maybank 2 Cards, but today I check, both card statement got RM10 card fee for the Zing....
*
Sounds like you accidentally asked for 2 Zing cards. RM10 fee is charged upon card issuance, which will be before collection time.

my zing card already tied to Amex after called CS last saturday.

my question is, can i topup my zing card on weekend not via autoreload function ( toll ) , but from any petrol station ?

Besides they charged RM2 per RM100 top up. is RM2 will be count in my treatspoint as well?
*
Zing cards cannot be topped up normally. Full TP for the RM102 will be given. I've seen the autoreload transaction date on weekends as well for 5% rebate.

This is stated on the MBB website along with the brochures provided to you with the card.

amex still higher cos of the double conversion rates unless you are spending in USD, for Master/Visa it directly converts to MYR
*
This is wrong for all cards in Malaysia. This double conversion applies for any spending not in RM (possible cross-border fee) or USD (only single conversion).

I have used aeon watami so far it doesn't double convert unlike ocbc titanium
*
I took the effort to find the Aeon CC T&C but it just says conversion is based on the rate provided by Visa/MC and does not specifically mention the double conversion. This is also the same for MBB T&C found at Maybank CC T&C but is specifically mentioned for Amex at section 13.6. I'm not sure when the mention of double conversion was stopped for Visa/MC but you can be quite sure this is still going on.

Hi, i paid groupon online using AMEX on Saturday around 12:10am, transaction was approved. However, the transaction was recorded as Friday n posting date as Saturday. Thus, i missed the weekend rebate for this transaction.

Anyone experience this as well?
*
The transaction date shown on your statement is based on which batch the merchant reports the transaction to their CC provider. If your transaction was just a few minutes past midnight, odds are good the transaction will be batched and submitted for those for the previous calendar day. I doubt you can actually dispute this with MBB.

Need help here.. icon_idea.gif
say you got outstd balance of RM1,000 ..in MBB cc

you pay minimum, say RM100.. at cut off date..say 26/4

on 06/5 - you get finance charges of RM 1x.xx (is this correct) since i paid the minimum alrdy... hmm.gif

then i new purchase using cc...say another RM500.. for 20 days free interest..
then comes 26/5 cut off i will be paid all off..
i) shall i pay now outstanding balance RM1000 now to avoid penalty finance charges...or

ii) all pay outstanding (1,000) + new purchase (500) on 26/5 ... will there any finance charges?
*
The finance charges shown as of the statement date covers the entire period of statement start date until the last date for payment. As long as you fully settle the statement amount within this period, you will resume your interest-free benefit. Paying less even 1 sen short will not be considered as full settlement.

very sad today, go to 1U  to re-apply maybank 2 cards but has been rejected without a reason. The officer said it might be because of my Ikhwan card.
But I though Islamic bank and Conventional bank is different entity, and every CS I spoke too said it shouldn't give me a problem if I apply Conventional card.
Haih dunno what to do ..  sad.gif
*
They are legally different and the credit line is also separate. But because they are still under the same group, they will consider the total risk exposure for both before they are willing to issue cards to you. E.g. if they think they give you limit of RM10K and your conventional cards only have RM8K limit, then you can get RM2K limit for Islamic card. But if you are already at RM10K limit for conventional cards, you can get extra conventional cards but not Islamic cards.

just whether they want to do for you or not only.
ATM card is FOC for basic saving account, but debit is chargeable upon issue and got annual fees.
*
All MBB ATM and debit cards have the same fee structure, meaning free for initial issuing and expiry replacement and free annual fees. The RM8 you are paying is not annual fee for the debit card but for unlimited withdrawals from MBB ATM's in Malaysia and this applies to the ATM cards as well.

for debit card, you still can ask for non annual fee option before issuance
*
Yes, you have to say don't want the RM8 because every bank will always push you to pay the RM8 because they are sure they will easily earn millions a year just from this annual fee after deducting their costs.

Call the +603 number on the back of your card. No toll free number from overseas and 1300 numbers in Malaysia aren't free to call either.

well, Maybank's webpage stated no AF.

But the Product Disclosure mentioned 2 type of AF: RM8 for unlimited withdrawal or FOC for withdrawal <5 times.

T&C Clause 37
*
As I explained earlier, the annual fee is not for the card itself but for unlimited withdrawals from MBB ATMs in Malaysia.

guys
i just want to confirm something
if we pay minimum amount every month, when Maybank will impose the interest?
is it every end of month or end of year?
suppose it should be every end of month rite?

because in my case, I had paid FULL statement amount every month since the first time i use credit card except recent past 3 months I only paid minimum amount.
but in the statement, there is no single cent or RM of interest?
*
For all MY credit cards, finance charges are calculated up to the payment due date. Meaning as long as you pay the statement amount by the due date, you will not incur additional finance charges.

For M2U, finance charges and most fees are NOT shown in the transaction history (it's not even called statement!), it only appears in the physical statement and statement under My statements section. But the statement balance under Account details will include such charges (if any).
