Hello Forumer...
I own a 2000 Honda CRV First Generation Last Batch...
I installed a Koni Yellow Sport Suspention paired with H&R Race Spring (RED)

The car was so stable on high speed mostly when I travel KL-IPOH once a week...
Its the sport best suspension setup I've ever own in my life

Now Im driving a 2nd Generation Honda Jazz GE8 CBU with paddle shifter...
On last week of chinese new year I brought the car to TITAN specialist...
The gave me the brief yet most reviewed I read on forums said that its the most comfy adjustable on the market...
So I made a decision of installing them...
Before I proceed to them I told them that I want a setup that are good for conering while theres a comfy side...
I gave the car to them and I was given their persona that equip with their Titan Adjustable and I was suprise how comfy the ride is and the steering feedback while conerning is very impressive...

On the same day I got the car and drove it to home I found that the ride is quite harsh...
I was like oh its ok maybe it the nature of adjustable suspensiom...
On the night I tried the car on MRR2 to cheras and I was like WTF!!! Its very stiff and bouncy like hell...
Even my friend that was with me said its like your shock dont do their job...

Later on next day I went back to them and they installed me their spring 5K on front and 3K on the rear...
I was like oh ok Im fine with the ride feels...
Later on the other day I traveled back to ipoh...

Again I was like WTF!!!
Its still bumpy and bouncy while cruising on the highway...
And the next week after I went back to them and they told me that they will try to soften the shock compression...
I proceed and it was the 2nd tuning and it was the last tuning they gave me as a new buyers you have the ringht to get only 2 times of free tuning...

Suddenly while I was waiting they came to me and said it not possible to soften it further more...
So they sunggest me to come tomorrow morning to get back my oem spring to be install on the rear...as We cannot proceed it on the day as its already 5pm...

So on the next morning I went to them and I left the car to them with my oem rear spring...
At about 4pm...I went back to them and I saw the height of the rear was like WTF!!! It was so hight as same as stock setup...
Before I proceed to transplant the oem spring I was told that they can make the height setup as low as the current setup with thier spring which was 2.5 finger gap...
But once I saw it...I said this wasnt right...
So I told them to installed back their spring and the shock compression is soften to the setup with oem spring...
Still I have to paid them...Suppose I was quoted RM100 for the tuning and I asked them to make it RM50 since I was a customer that didnt met the setup I wanted...

So I paid...

And now Im on Ladang Bikam R&R going back to IPOh reporting you guys that I am in huge dissapointment with the ride quality which still bumpy and harsh...
I paid almost for 3k and yet I drove the car like riding a horse...
I even ride my friend VIVA with a FAKE D2 and still full of comfort I felt on his car...

Guy can you give your opinoin please...
What is wrong with me or their quality that is USED to be THE BEST among of All Brands of ADJUSTABLE on the MARKETS...

NEWLY FRESH UPDATES

Hi Guys...
Im back for reporting of good news that I've got...
Yesterday I was called by Them (Patrick , Wailong & Herman).
So I went there at about 10.35AM I Arrived...
There was only him at the moment ad Wailong and Mr Richard is out for breakfast...

Once Arrived I met with Herman a person Who's incharge for me since day one I step my foot to Titan HQ for installing it on my GE8...

So we have some of discussion, at first were discuss regarding a knocking that appear on the front right side.
We didnt bother about the ride issue I've got as our goal were more on the sound issue...

Well after we went thru some explanation to each other for the ride I proceed the car to them to sattle with the knocking...
Once sattle he'll proceed with the ride tuning.

So I left the car to him and I went back home.
At about 3.50 I got a called from Herman to get to him for testing the car.
I was asking to soften the front setup at least 10% while the rear setup was already softer to 15% last week the day I wrote this thread...

So every was done I arrived there and I was first saw Wailong face...
I was a bit like ( tak sampai hati la) with the way I wrote to this thread like making a harsh complained but he still smile at me while waiting me to reach him so that we could discuss more of the setup that he himsilf, herman & Mr Richard...
By the time the knocking sound was done.

So the setup on the front was soften at least 10 percent but maintaing the current ride height...
But Wailong and Herman did notified me that the front will have rub issue while tackle corner before they gave me to test the ride...
There was also one of customer (ANIL) who I know since our 2nd tuning joining with me for a test ride as he came to reduce his sentra front spring rates .

He did also said that i'll rub the fender & tyres.
So we test the ride on a slight uphill road that a bit of beralun and I try and fast as possible taking a fast corner and suddenly as what the expected (Wailong, Herman, Mr Richard and even Anil)...
It was rubbing all the when taking the hard corner without breaking.

I retured to the base (Titan) and i doubled confirm with them with rub...
So I was suggested by Herman, Wailong and Anil to raise a bit the ride height and I asked them why cant you guy make a setup that is 2 finger gap without harsh ride quality and without rubbing and they told me that the current ride height was was 1.5 finger gap...
I was shocked that time and I walked to my car and placed my 2 finger on the gap...and It was tight to enter my 2 finger...

SO HERE I WAS THE ONE WHO WAS WRONG WITH THE GAB MEASUREMENT.

IT WAS TRUE THAT IT WAS 1.5 AS WHAT THEY TOLD ME EARLIER...

So I and herman did laugh on my stupidity...Haha

So I agreed with them and proceed the setup they suggested.
Once complete they told me to get a test on highway.
I drove the car and entered mrr2 but unfortunately it was already quite heavy traffic...

I didnt get a chance to feel the ride with 2 inch gap front and rear...
So I returned to Titan but both Herman & Wailong was out already...
It was already late evening so I returned home but I doubt about the feeling of the ride as I drove my GF CAR KIA POTATO (PICANTO LER) with a boat suspension and I feels I'm high as the suspension is really floating HAHAHAH...
So I cant tell whats the feel of in my car with new setup...

I returned home without paying any even its already 4th time tuning and even Herman did whatsapp me early in the morning today asking about the ride feel...and he dont even tell me to pay...

Today I went to them again for tighten up the mounting on the rear suspension as it tends to make knock sound because according tp Mr Richard the the mounting suspension of my car only have 1 screw with a shape of mounting of 'Kuih Talam' and its not a good as other suspension
mounting it other car.

Wailong just now even detect a knock sound for me that I've didnt notice before and he did told me to change my engine mounting.
It was only appear when we hit big or harsh potholes.

I just told him to detect the knocking sound from suspension mounting yet he discover more than I imagine in order to let my ride free of unwanted sound.
But Im ok with that as long as there is no issues or sound come from the shock.
Still he never asked me to pay for the setup yesterday...
Even Anil told me that Wailong refused to charge...

Now Im writing this to report that the ride quality is start to develop on me and while I drove back home just now from titan and I enjoy how well the shock compress all the uneven road and once i reached home I stup my engine off opened my door and I said
'IT DOES FEEL LIKE IM NOT USING ADJUSTABLE' but 'FEELS LIKE ONLY USE SPORT SPRING BUT TAKING CORNERS LIKE HAVING ADJUSTABLE'

After a long journey with this setup...
Probably the 1st fully adjustable i'VE EVER OWN and IT ALSO DOES PROVE TO ME THAT ITS THE BEST ADJUSTABLE I'VE EVER USE BESIDE KONI WHICH WAS SEMI ADJUSTABLE...

ITS YET THE BEST AND COMFY ADJUSTABLE I HAVE...

THANKS EVERYONE AND BIG THANKS TO TITAN ESPECIALLY PATRIC (FrozenIce) WHO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE TO TITAN...HERMAN WHO'S ALWAYS WITH ME INCHARGE OF ANY PROBLEM I'VE GOT AND WAILONG WHO IS ALWAYS HELP ME IN TECHNICAL PROBLEM AND INSIST ME OF HOW TO GET THE BEST SETUP THAT SUIT ME AND THE CAR...

Bro, if you benchmark based on your prev ride - the Koni and H&R Spring, then i am sure you'd be dissapointed....Koni is noted for being firm but comfortable which is slightly stiffer than OEM...but Titan is adjustable - and the bad news is there is NO comfortable adjustable in the market...and the brand is also monotube, it 'feels' the road more than other adjustable...of cos i am sure you'll be grinning from ear to ear whenever you attack corner, but unfortunately even the softest setting wont be comfortable...have heard and seem owners returning adjustable to the shop, as they cant bear with the stiffness...adjustable is an acquired taste....either you live with it or part with it, 2 options, yours to decide

Haha I know that the brand you mentioned is already out of the list...and the price for those brand is sky rocked...
What im referring is brands like Gap...zerozone...bc racing...d2...even tien as not as good as them with the same price tag that you'll only get a twin tube adjustable for tein while with titan you get a monotube and its inveterted as same technology use by rieger tuners for bmw...

I went there like 5 times already yet they said somthing that cannot be done and showing you some butt face every time you come to them...
What kind of service they give you for the price of 3k?
Nothing...
Better i get those fake d2 far more comfy...
Hmm

I got 'em on my ex-E46. Let uncle Richard sit in one of friend's M-Sport specced E46 and told him I wanted the same comfort but even better when comes to cornering and stability. After a wait of almost 8 hours, I got back my car. Car is slightly lowered (compared to stock) despite on original springs. Let the shocks run-in for almost a week. Still feel abit soft. Went for 1 round of tuning, and I got exactly what I want and happy for what I paid for.

Paid RM2.7k for the shocks alone and springs were stock BMW non-Sport springs. I would say it's one of the best shocks I ever tried. Very stable at high speed and cornering but yet offers the comfort when comes to normal driving. Not bumpy at all. It just absorbs all the unevenness of the road. I never had the confidence to do 200 km/h on my old shocks but with the Titan, the stability gave me the well required confidence. Got another BMW with stock M-Sport shocks now but I still prefer the old Titan setup. Prolly gonna replace them with Titan once they die.

I believe you may need to let uncle Richard test a setup which you prefer in order for him to have a "butt feel" and tune the way you wanted it. That's just based on my experience. And perhaps Titan's springs were not suitable? Try one round of tuning while using back your stock springs (ignore the height for the time being) and see how they feels to you.

Uncle Richard always advised to go back to stock springs should you require some level of comfort.

but do you know that actually twin tube application more suitable for street driving? because in the same length body, the twin tube structure will provide a longer stroke.

from your problem, i think u need something off the shelf, not customize , so buy , install and go, no need many problem, if u wan comfort better opt for sport spring and sport absorber, because the linear spring for sure will be less comfort than the progressive one smile.gif

u want adjustable and want sapu corner and you want comfort?

who told you sapu corner type of shock will be comfortable?

Try asking them to adjust the rebound - it could be too quick so you feel bouncy.

I'm using Titan on my 2006 smart forfour and yes for 3 months, car was hopping and ride super bumpy. Now, after more than 3 months of suffering, ride is more comfy and I can attack corners easily then b4. So, I guess, u need to be patience.

If you want the best of both worlds, I believe Koni FSD is the answer. tongue.gif

Anyone here heard of F-Tuned Racing? Another Malaysian made custom suspension specialist, they're mostly ex Proton engineers IIRC

I told them why my car cant perform a comfort level that most satisfy cumtomers get...he said your car is light...and most noticable comfor that I feels were from a heavy sedan...
Even his persona is even more comfy...

And yesterday i met one of the customer there that came for servicing his titaned Myvi...
I asked him hows the setup he get...He also said that the ride in not comfy...so assume what they said about the type of cars and the weight of cars plays important roles with their suspension...
Maybe titan is not that good for a light compact car..?
Well I just assume based on what the myvi owner said...
But when it comes to the customer who titaned a sedan car they got a comfy side...
Hrm...

Bro if I wouldnt care about the height so whats the piont of having adjustable...the height that was made by them using stock spring way higher bro...
Like a boat i must said...haha

One more thing that they told me was the tyres that Im using is still stock michilin and its soft side wall and the tyre is 185/55/16 with 6.5jj...

So maybe by changing some hard side wall tyre let say 205/45/16 with 7jj will make some comfy and eliminate the bumpy symtomps??

Bro I love your explaination...
I would want to find more so that I can get the setup you did get...
But how possible it is?
Its already the 3rd round tuning still the same result...
Previously there was a customer with the same car as mine...
The setup he got for the front is same as mine with titan spring 5k rates...but rear he use the stock spring and did lowered nicely...but when it comes to me they cant lowered the stock spring as what did the customer get...

Please enlighten me...

just want to know, did Titan use back ur original spring or they give their spring?
AFAIK, if u want more comfort n handling better then OEM they will install their absorber n tune it to match the spring rate from ur original spring.. if its too bumpy then something wrong with ur ori spring.. if they change it to other spring then u never get back the comfortable u searching..
did they test ur car before they tune it?

as for me, i also ex-Titan user.. i ask them i want street setup (proton wira), after they finish install i thought the rear side its a bit high to my likeness, but they ask try 1st.. i try it for 2-3 months still i dont like it.. then i just ask my mech to lowered it to my like.. then after that i really confident to attack corner as fast as i want..

so much wrong information here..

coilovers can be "comfortable" or should i say, compliant. coilovers can be firm but still reacts to the uneven surface of the road. most cheap coilovers do not have the tech and valving for compliancy. but of course, good coilovers will cost you > RM4k.

also, a true linear springs can provide better ride quality because the damper can work efficiently.

and Titan used to be the best? ahahahahah

dantei136, what you are experiencing is just typical titan.. good luck..

the "F" is a friend of mine...many consider him to be the handling sifu

if I can find a buyer for my tein flex, id go for his street/track suspension
id like u to PROPERLY think abt the bolded parts...REALLY REALLY think about it.

before u even think of pressing the reply button, think REAL HARD about it.

seriously, im not joking...think VERY VERY HARD about it...

I am currently eye-ing on F-tuned coilover, thinking to jump ship from Titan to F-Tuned as Titan does not have soft hard setting, and rear spring adjustment. (Suzuki Swift)

I think Titan is not as good as last time when Richard himself taking care of his customers. Price jacked up high and workmanship quality is so so... I was being quoted for RM600 just for a pair of rear spring without height adjuster, reasonable price? hmm...

Titan claimed that their coilover are better and more comfort than other like Bilstein... HKS... etc..etc.. I just could not agree on this, I have tried on friend's HKS coilover and found out it is much more comfortable than Titan, and much more firm on handling uneven roads.

Hrm...

Urm, why you compare the comfy of light torsion beam car to heavy multilink car? hmm.gif

just want to know, did Titan use back ur original spring or they give their spring?

*
Hi Bro...The setup they made for me is by using their spring...none of my spring were used...
Their spring specification FRONT 5K & REAR 3K...
Yes they did try the car before and after they make the setup for me..
It is ok ?
Or is this the reason that they cant get me a setup with comfortable as they are using their spring ?

yup.. that could be the reason.. most of car that want comfortable ride (especially rare or expensive car), Titan use back their spring.. they will compress the spring whatsoever to combine with their absorber..

BEST REGARDS

Maybe there's some issues with my spring that cannot be compress in order to get lower ride height ??

Bro...thanks for your concern I believe you are one of titan people...
So far there's no other problem that Im facing right now...
Its just the quality of the ride is being the issue...
The ride is harsh and bumpy
I met with couples of guy who already use Titan and they are all satisfy with the ride quality and I even impress how well their ride setup...
They ride setup with titan adjustable are very smooth on all type of road surface and yet the cornering is also impressive...they get a comfort ride quality with stable on cornering
But when it comes to my car...its bumpy...bouncy..harsh...the only good side did I get is just cornering...even cant get a small comfort feels...
The ride quality is what make me disappointed...
Sometime I keep asking why didnt I get what most people get with their TITAN...
I even have a hard sleep everyday thinking of this...
I kept $$$$ for a long time to get Titan for my car and speed and speed a lot of $$$$ to get these Titan while Im still a student...
I would love to have it retune again but its already on 3rd tuning so I must pay for the next tuning 4th round that will cost me $$$$...
Its not fair if I pay for retune and yet still cant get a better result that most people got...
I just want to eliminate the bumpiness, bounciness and harsh...

I've dealed with him, he suggested me to use the rear stock spring...
I told him to make the ride as low as possible...
But once installed...The right height was unable to drop...
So I insist to reinstall their spring back...

i installed the normal titan abs (not the full coilovers) on my Nissan cube (almost same size as Myvi)
i coupled it with a Espelir lowered spring..
the ride was stable and firm... i was using a 40series tyyre...
didnt get a bumpy ride...
and i cant say its as comfortable as my myvi with stock abs + G|A|B spring..

it was harder the first week i had it, but after that, it felt better... or maybe i got used to it...
but never i classify my ride as bumpy like horse riding... only firmer...

maybe u need a different spring rate.. a softer one??
cos from what i understand, stock spring is stiffer than lowered spring...

I used to be titan user. I make mistake by wanting a hard set up. Malaysia road is really shit. So titan is very accomodating to tune till I satisfied. Its quite a few round and its FOC. I guess bcos of that now they have the 3 times limit d. I finally satisfied with a soft set up. Ride hide is 1.5 finger gap yet it didnt hit fender and very good handling. But I still feel the rear is not hard enough and did request them to change a slightly harder spring. Everytime i have passengers at the back, the spring goes down a lot. The front spring hardly move when i go in the car. They never change for me. I guess my car use a spring that they cut shorter. So I think they hesitant to cut another spring. I always feel my car feel better when my car just came out from the workshop.

Ur case maybe they already made the absorber to their spring height. So when u put the ori spring, its very high n they couldnt make changes to their absorber height already. But thats just guessing.

Most bmw, avanza they will advice to use ori spring becos all the replacement spring they have is linear type. The car I mention above the rear spring design is like top n bottom is smaller diameter than center so cannot use what they have.

Richard is the only guy know how the thing works there. Is he still there?

I have to clarify this case on behalf of Uncle Richard. I have spoken to Uncle Richard regarding about this issue yesterday. He told me that user Dantei136 came to Titan and insisted a setting which is lowered with firm ride and yet still have the comfortness with full load of passenger on the rear as he use the car to fetch family around.

Herman was the person in charge regarding about this issue. User has been advised to use absorbers only due to the lightweight of the car. User insisted for adjustable because want to look lowered. Uncle Richard tried his best to make the ride as soft as possible and yet doesn't let the suspension to be too soft to avoid bottom's up.

After installation, user complained that the suspension was too harsh and wanted to be soften more. Wailoong came in to the picture and advice him to use stock spring for more comfort as the sport spring couldnt match the softness of the suspension.

After the stock spring installation, the ride height was raised up as you can understand the stock spring is to support the weight of the car and plus titan suspension the ride will go higher. Uncle Richard had tried his best adjust to what he need.

So guys please do comment on this case as I don't want any misunderstand regarding about Titan brand.

titan mech told me that, but i didnt believe it either...
so i insist them to change my rear spring back to standard (thinking it was softer than my Espelir lowered springs)....
had to admit, i was wrong
the ride was higher, plus harder that i had to ask them to reinstall the lowered spring ..

maybe not true for ALL cars, but i bet titan mech was speaking from experience dealing with lotsa diff cars..
so i do believe in them in some ways...

im using IMP improve adjustable coil with high-low, soft-hard and body shifted, amazingly the ride still comfortable and not too bumpy if compare my previous GAB sport spring pair with stock absorber. i even lowered it half finger from fender, spring 6k rear and 8k front, superb handling and feel stiff during cornering

Yes bro I did told them that I want coilover setup which is lowered with firm ride and yet still have the comfortness for at least 2 person...
NOT 'FULL LOAD' AND I'VE NEVER MENTIONED FULL LOAD...
Beside I travel IPOH-KL Weekly ALONE...

I've seen and ride most of my friends car with 2 finger gap and 2.5 finger which same as my setup tackling corners around highway without any rub on fender and tyre...and still can feel firm and comfy and most of all not harsh and bumpy
Beside most of them use some full coilover brands such as GAB, HWL, BC RACING, IMP, KYB and Even a FAKE D2 and FAKE MINES brand...

I do respect TITAN brands and I know and still believe that TITAN can do and perform much better than those brand mentioned above...
But what makes you said that you cant maintain the ride height because of rubbing issue between tyres and fender while cornering ?
Even a stock jazz ABS with ONLY TIEN Spring with 2 finger gap of for both front & rear perform well without any rubbing issues as tested around hard cornering in highway...

All I want is just not to feel 'regrets' with my choice TITAN...

Bro I'm not writing this to bash your product or service...
I need some good and useful opinions of all those other Titan User...
Until now I never ever say or think that your product is not good...Yet I'm finding some answer for the solution and solution for my situation...and still hopping that Im not making a wrong decision with this product...
Im just a customer who wants a peace both myself and your product.

*
Bro I'm not saying that you are bashing the product or services. I'm here to clarify things as I'm represent Uncle Richard regarding about this issue. I'm here to assist you and provide solution because you are unsatisfied with the result of the product.

Regarding about full load issue, I'm not there thats why i cant say anything base on what both party told me. I'm just referring to what uncle told me. And if i'm not mistaken Wailoong or Herman already advised you not to get the adjustable but you insisted want the adjustable thats why they proceed.

FYI, those brand you mentioned above is already factory tuned and it cant be customized unless you take to revalve which will void warranty. The reason why I said cant maintain the ride height is because of stock spring is hard enough to support the car weight and plus our suspension it will make the car even higher. Reason why customer look for our product is our product can be harder than those normal coilover sell outside the market. The solution I've provided you in PM and hope you will understand the concept of how our suspension works.

Not that easy bro. Titan is not adjusted by turning a knob. U need their staff to take off the absorber and change some component inside. Only Richard can do it.

ah beng wants performance and same time wants comfort......good luck with that....

myself, I prefer sports bumpy cars than cars with stock shocks....better steering control and good at cornering.......comfort is secondary.... ;-)

Adjustable is never comfort...whether the ride is harsh or acceptable depends on butt feel...very individual, i got mine customize at PRS another specialist, the boss advise not to go for adjstble if its a daily driven car, and certainly not for family man..of course you have certain cases where some can accept the firmness of an adjstble, but the very thought that i have to adjust it from time to time due to the setting might run, considering the hassle...its a no no for me...

titan mech told me that, but i didnt believe it either...
so i insist them to change my rear spring back to standard (thinking it was softer than my Espelir lowered springs)....
had to admit, i was wrong
the ride was higher, plus harder that i had to ask them to reinstall the lowered spring ..

maybe not true for ALL cars, but i bet titan mech was speaking from experience dealing with lotsa diff cars..
so i do believe in them in some ways...

from what i know. that is due to u compressed the stock spring end up the stock spring more bumpy.
if u adjust the height as original spring should, u will get softer. provided your shock can adjust so far or not which mostly imposible.

there's one brand that can do this well - BILSTEIN

u don't need adjustables for good cornering, just need well engineered normal absorbers with stock springs to have both comfort and cornering.

also, it's well worth the money (because it's very expensive)

there are plenty more.. unfortunately many ricers say stiffer is always better, and often think ride comfort and handling are mutually exclusive.

there are good adjustables and there are bad adjustables. never in between.. and normally ppl will say "you get what you pay for", but for suspension, if you buy cheap adjustables, you don't get what you pay for (at least for me).

been down that road before when i'm young. now cannot tahan the stiffness anymore, getting old......

after getting my BMW with those amazing Bilstein dampers, it's the perfect setup for my age...and my style of cornering

Now Im writing this to report that the ride quality is start to develop on me and while I drove back home just now from titan and I enjoy how well the shock compress all the uneven road and once i reached home I stup my engine off opened my door and I said
'IT DOES FEEL LIKE IM NOT USING ADJUSTABLE' but FEELS LIKE ONLY USE SPORT SPRING BUT TAKING CORNERS LIKE HAVING ADJUSTABLE

THANKS EVERYONE AND BIG THANKS TO TITAN ESPECIALLY PATRIC (FrozenIce) WHO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE TO TITAN...HERMAN WHO'S ALWAYS WITH ME INCHARGE OF ANY PROBLEM I'VE GOT AND WAILONG WHO IS ALWAYS HELP ME IN TECHNICAL PROBLEM AND INSIST ME OF HOW TO GET THE BEST SETUP THAT SUIT ME AND THE CAR...

well... whenever requirement for good cornering and comfort turns up together... it's a recipe for disaster...

good cornering is a very loose term and telling that to the people setting up your shocks is a very vague description to them on what you want exactly, add on having comfort and it even baffles them more...

i doubt many if not all people rarely drive all their 4 wheels to the limits of adhesion... what we sometimes think is the upper limits of our car is very often not quite the truth, especially when you see some idiot with a sailboat having a disregard for his own life flying past you in a corner at unbelievable speeds...

I should have seen it coming...what not with 1 1/2 fingers gap..thats ultra low...1 finger gap is only for show cars...to bring down so low, it is not possible to have comfort setting, but beg the question, how come the owner dont know the setting in the 1st place....anyway glad that its been clarified....

I would like to share my experience on the newly bought Titan Suspension. I am on a Honda, using Titan Comfort Series suspension. This is a custom made suspension, which they will immediately "build/fabricate" your suspension after you have made your selection e.g. choosing the Comfort series.

However, the tricky part is where the suspension suit into your need. Uncle Richard is the most technical and experienced guy there, so you SHOULD only talk to him on your requirement, rather than anyone else. This is because only he will understand what you want, the rest of the staffs well, are just so-so. They are salesmen or marketing men, or... just assembly men smile.gif Sorry to say, but yes, talk to Uncle Richard how you want your ride to be tuned.

As for my ride, the first impression after installing the Titan suspension was great because my Honda's stock struct is damaged, so I feel the difference after installing the Titan Suspension. However, the problem came after a few days where I hear some bearing sound ("cruk cruk") from the tyres, as if it's some damaged mounting or so. I took the car back to Titan Ampang to fix it. Apparently, that's the un-well setup of the suspension/faulty causing that sound. Uncle Richard took the responsibility to fix it. Great job.

The next week, after the fix, I noticed that the car is getting bumpier than the days before. I have tried to reduce the air pressure to a recommended measurement, increase it etc but that did not work. Then, I gave a call again to Uncle Richard. Again, he fixed it but re-tuning the struts. Today, I am trying that out and keep monitoring.

The bottom line is, it takes a couple of times to get the tuning you want, and of course, if you're unlucky like me bumping into "faulty" bearings, then you may somewhat get frustrated. However, if you have take the below precautions before you get those Titan suspension installed, probably that would reduce your frustrations.

1. Before installing the Titan Suspension, talk to Uncle Richard on your expectations and requirements
2. Titan have a few test drive cars, Wira/Persona/Satria Neo - all of them have their suspension tuned and if you tested those cars, well you will be amazed how well the suspension perform but don't expect you will get the same setup in your ride k. I bought into the idea of installing Titan Suspension after trying on their cars but didn't know that it performs out of my own expectations.
3. After testing their cars, tell Uncle Richard how you want your ride to be. E.g. less stiff than that car? Need stiffer than that car?
4. After your suspension is installed, test your car thoroughly. Don't just believe what the technicians have told you. Drive harsh, drive REAL slow, take corners, go on an uneven road slowly and hear if there are any unexpected sound from the suspension. If there is, get that rectified immediately. You will save a couple of rounds if you have rectified the sound/setup issue on the spot, instead of keep coming into the shop for re-tuning. Each time re-tuning, that would definitely take you 4 hours, at least.
5. Test your ride longer than you should. Drive further.

Good luck.

Haha...Sold it already bro...

Here is some of 'Headache & Satisfaction Story From The Start Till The END'
I gave up with the suspension and luckily one of my friend who really wants to buy a set of coilover refuse to get the brand new GAS SS and proceed to get My Titan...

Luckily he understand me and got the titan from me at price of 1.7K instead of almost 2.9k I bought.
I told him if the ride isnt uncomfortable for him just send it to Titan HQ to resetup and he agreed with it.

So once dealed I make a full purchase of FTUNED RACING SUSPENSION with is a same 'Inverted Monotube' but its the 'Lotus Inverted Monotube' which every small to big components inside the coilovers are calculated with Lotus Formulation based on the (WEIGHT & PLATFORM) Of The Car.

The owner was a Ride & Handling Engineer (Group Leader) at Proton Research & Development, Chassis Engineering Section, Ride & Handling Unit and involved in various suspension development projects with Proton Engineers & Lotus Engineers. Trained by Lotus Engineering Engineers on Suspension & Chassis Development, Damper/Shock Absorber tuning and Advanced Driving Techniques. Last position at Proton, was the Group Leader for Ride & Handling team of Engineers and Technicians from 1999-2005. In Motorsports and Professional Driving, Mr. Farouk is a race driver and Instructor for Proton R&D Test Drivers. Participated in several race events, santioned and unsantioned races since 1996, including the Merdeka Millennium Endurance from the 1st MME in 2000 till the 4th MME in 2004 as race drivers and 2005 as Race Manager for a winning team. Out of passion, F Tuned Racing was formed.

The set of coilover are Hi-Lo and Adjustable Damping Hi-Lo Soft Hard.
The coilover are ready made set for my car and I choose (Road Touge Spec) which is comfortable for rough road usage and for tracking.
Even there are ready made stuff, the owner himself require me to leave the car for 2 days to make a setup that meet my expectation.
The reason of this is to get the setup that I want and SET the setup at the 'Maximum Soft Setting' of the 'Adjustable Damping Knob'.
Hence this would be the best and easier to the user to get into the setup that are most use in everyday usage incase of we were do alot of adjusting when we do some Touge / Tracking.

The spring rates of the setup now is 6K Front & 4K Rear with 2 Fingger Gap both Front & Rear.

Once done...I drove the car from smooth tarmac to high hill with bunch of holes...I was so surprise the ride quality is beyond what I expected.
The ride is very compose and balance on any surface of tarmac even with bunch of holes the absorption is very superb and its even comfy compare to the ride feels of Stock OEM Suspension when the car was new until the last moment i used it.
The steering feels is tight (Sportier Feels) on cornering as what I've felt on one of my friend BMW E46 330 Cabrio.
Steering responds is very sharp and fast.

RESULTED : Cant Say More...Conclusion is to be the right END.
-My dad who's person that enjoying his daily Comfy Big Merc Ride loves every bits of the comfy ride on my car now.
-ME...I'm smiling every bits of the excitement tackling corners with comfy rides without worrying the dashboard to come off.

A bit cheaper compare to Titan...
The highest price of custom made product from them for most continental / race / rare car model goes not exceed more than 4K...
The ready set coilover depends on cars models & platform range from 2-2.3K (Adjustable Height HILO) to
2.5-2.9K ( Adjustable Height & Damping HILO SOFT HARD)

The set of coilovers for my car goes for 2.9 same as Titan Price.

The Oil use by Ftuned inside of their Coilover are from Top Notch Quality Brand TORCO.

Good luck.
*
I installed titan last year and to date, I have visited titan almost 10 times yet, still they could not solve my rear sound problem. Upon further investigation, found out that my spring and abs does not sit well. There were gaps. Uncle Richard took noticed and he rebuild my abs again and again. Still, it does not solve the problem.

It works well with my ride. I am on 8k 6k medium hard setup down from previous 9k 7k medium hard.

Haha yeah bro...
What really shocked me once I went to them for their product briefing with all sort of technical they have is there were a lot of 'Ex-Titane User' that end up being satisfied customers for FTUNED.

Things that really make up my mind is the owner it self as an engineer which graduated from United State and he once being a position of a Head Engineer for their team in Lotus & Ride handling in proton company...

So I gave them a try and finally a am I ONE HAPPY CUSTOMER smile.gif

Using a 1st gen titan on my satria.. IINM got it installed in 2003 when richard's brother(or cousin?) was still around (now he is selling 'tag' suspension)
It has served me well but I wanna try ftune when I have the budget.

So,

The general consensus is - there are MANY unhappy titan users?

Probably you should rename the title as "Titan Adjustable Suspension Very Bumpy (NOT FIXED)"

giving bad image to titan maybe? because they are "improving" their absorbers.

or just simply to avoid conflicts between owner and titan and ftuned. once titan absorbers are serviced at ftuned, owner will not be supported by titan in the future? and ftuned will not be responsible should there be any problems with the damper itself, not valving.

Bro If it is sent to Ftuned...they will cover-up the warranty that involve with valving and all internal exchanged without any modification on the outside.
Even customer who brought their Adjustable range from HWL & GAB TO Aragosta & Ohlin damper to Ftuned for tuning were given Warranty.
Few days ago friend of mine which is a MAS Pilot sent his Newly Aragosta on his FD2R to FTUNED for further tuning.

To answer the question why they wont take the Titan Shock is Might-BE-Because of recently A Friend of mine which I met on titan long ago sent his Titan to get revalve and retuning to FTUNED while I made a new purchased as I managed to sell of my Titan.
My Friend titan tooks about 3MONTHS & 3DAYS To get it nicely revalve and retuning.
One of the FTUNED Guy said it was the hardest setup he ever Revalved & Tuned and lots of thing need to be change.
He did also said that he wont take any Titan Set to do revalve but I taught He was joking around us while he said it.
Apparently...as you've mentioned here...It's looks he wasn't joking to me... sad.gif
Hrm...

Well its a Real-Luck for My friend as Being-Last-Customer who managed to do Revalved & Tuning by them.

My 2cent from current Titan (partial setup, shocks only) user.

pros: if you need a particular setup that off the shelf product can't provide.
cons: unrefined, trial & error methodology, time consuming to get things right.
my verdict: unless you need something that only custom built can provide, go for it. Else for average joe like us, just get something that proven to work fine.

Yes. Exactly what what i feel. They don't have scientific method. All is trial and error. You bring in a car, they will just give u the spring rate that they think suit you. They didnt calculate or check what is ur stock set up numbers. You need to tell them what you want but i never have any other aftermarket suspension before. How to tell them? They just tuned until u r ok. Is it the best set up? Sometimes i feel no but too lazy to uninstall everything n tune again. But good thing is after sales is good. You can go back to them if have any problem compare to buying off the shelf suspension. What i dont like is their bangla workers. Sometimes problem turn out to be their carelessness. Like bolt not tighten and one time they never tie back my abs cable. End up it breaks because hanging loosely around disc brake there.

Went there a couple of weeks ago.

The suspension setup was quite acceptable to me.

But the worse thing was, they siphon out my petrol kow kow. Sent there both times also kena.
1st time, left my car there full tank, then take the car time only left less than 1/3
2nd time, even worse, left the car there 1/2 tank as afraid they will do the same thing, when I took the car, it was almost empty. Need to go to the nearest petrol station to fuel up immediately.

I din bother to complain. Thought only cheapo bengkel shop will do this, but pro shop like them also same.

On this video last time I asked them to swap the rear spring to 3K spring rate from originally 4k spring rate without any setting to suit the 3K spring rates and eventually it turned out to be very bumpy like what you see in this video.

The reason of changing to 3k is due to the ride height of 3k CAN BE SET TO half a finger gap... rclxms.gif
But it appear to be a bumpy ride blink.gif

Lastly I sattle out by re-changing the rear spring to 4K spring rates which is so far the best setup for most JAZZ GE8/CITY 5G and its the regular setup for both platform.

Cons : only 2 finger gap achieved nod.gif

So far 6K front & 4K rear there's no such bumping ride like what you've seen in these video of mine which I requested...haha cool2.gif

Roll center adjustment should be the correct way to do that instead of lowering the car too much.

Why only 3k spring rate can achieve the ride height you want? Titan got no threads on the absorber for body shift?

4K spring they've got for me is specifically being used as for GE8 setup with the length of the spring itself is can be lowered with maximum of 2 finger gab...

While 3k spring I asked them to be use on my ride for the 2nd round setup was not intentionally build for GE8 setup which the spring itself is abit shorter than 4k spring rate that allowed me to adjust the maximum height of half a finger gap...

You accepted shorter springs on a set of absorbers not built around it?

You will be riding on the bump stops all the time then.

Titan coilover do not have body shift that we can easily adjust the softness / hardness ride quality...it's only can be adjusted by re-valve the coil by them...
Simply said its just a Semi adjustable coilover which allow us only to adjust the ride height which is the same with Bilstein B14 PSS Coiover for GE8.

Even no body shift, you can still adjust by lowering the spring seats. The only problem is that if you lower too much of the spring seat, you might not have enough spring extension if the absorber extends fully and cause klanking sounds as you drive.

Opting for shortened springs will make that even worst on top of riding on the bump stops.

I know titan used to make oe dampers which they can control the damping rates through a revalve that has no height adjustment. Unless you have bought that, dun see how u arrived at your situation.

Anyways, body shift doesnt affect the soft hardness of the absorbers. Only the ride height without messing with spring compression.

I tak puas hati for titan is now these jokers ask you to pay close to RM 600 for a set ( 4 batang) for tune up at glenmarie.

That's it lah ***** I had enough. First cannot fulfill my shock demand + my rear is lower than the front since they don't have suitable spring to meet my rear demand + charge me Rm 600 per service.

f*** titan really! I will be getting my F-tuned shocks soon

how good is good???

tune with "feel??

do they tune by measure the suspension geometry??

lowered based on owner request is shiat to me. usually a car that lower too much will induce a lots of bump steer.

Quite good, I`m not expert in suspension, not dare judge that they are good or not.
But they meet my requirement, thats all...
I request to be 40mm gab between tyres and fender, and I did mention I will full load my car also.
Stable ride, no bumpy, harsh is okie for me, and they did it rite.

Absolutely better than what I get from speedwork.

Every service just Rm200 for 4, which is quite reasonable, customer service nice too.

I was planning to go to Ftune, but thier price is abit over budget... and not really dare to think about CRS.....

Titan price is still reasonable, but they just give 2 times free tuning, and service are charge RM600 for all.

Anyway, if I have the budget, I`ill still go for Titan or Ftuned.

hmm.gif Funny I didn't come across this thread earlier.. must have missed it then.

I've been using Titan for over 3 years now.... and I would never recommend it to anyone else who wants a comfortable ride.

Since this was my first adjustable, I always thought it was like that (super hard and harsh) by default.
But actually I think the design is just bad.... I also lost count the numbers of time I went back and no matter how hard they try... it's always very bumpy and uncomfortable. Not to mention everytime you go there, need to camp there like the whole day... really waste of time.

The settings they do seems to be only good for few weeks at most... after that it seems to slowly deteriorate, becoming harsher and harsher... after a few months it feels like you don't have shocks anymore.

IMHO.. avoid Titan... go for other brands.

People have misunderstanding that Titan can provide them a product that is hassle-free just like off the shelf, I was wrong, have to go back so many times.

then it defeats the purpose aint it?

per shock ( rear or front doesn't matter ) is rm 150. If I do 25k KM ( which is their interval and the mileage I hit in 8 month), that's about RM 600 bucks every 8 month.

The service charge from rm 100 become 150 - I understand cost of material oil etc will shoot up but they should make it more reliable and less service required.

However the above is not a prob for me but the comfort..really beh tahan the rear especially. and they only got that size of spring...cant increase my car height ( 1.5 finger gap) and they cant do anything else ( Abs / Shock is mounted separately hence the spring requirement for that height

bro, its a known fact that high performance damper need to be service around that mileage to ensure the damping up up to the spec that its designed to, this is what i captured in ohlins user's manual
user posted image
as you know the fluid that provide damping in the shock absorber, while its working, the temperature will get up to 90c +, so over the time the absorber will get soften even though without leaking.

when i was using titan last time, their partial set , which use oem style big roll spring, the rear easily bottom up.go back complain, they adjust to higher again , but still the same, then change to eibach which is stiffer, but still bottom up if i ferry more than 4 people (including driver) in the car. i fed up and sell it to my friend, ask him to install the damper some shop nearby my house, the mechanic adjusted the damper both side equaland higher(previously was not even same spring compression on each side rclxub.gif , asked why they said is like that because car weight different on each side, i buy this if you shop got cornering weight machine, but they don't, heck, even my rear left and right different in height. argue with them, still don't want to adjust. ok in the end just use at it is for a while.) The same set transferred to my friend's car, full load, not even a single bottom out rclxub.gif .

600 per year is a problem for me, is not a wise option given the result to me so I ditch it for HKS, never look back smile.gif

Now they have the rear spring with the adjuster, but you need to top up 700 for that S_ _ T, go beli now please biggrin.gif

i heard gab ss series ok kah. hope to budget as much as possible, myb under 2k. (have other expenses and commitment) i just bought the car absorber mounting, lower arm bush, stabiliser link/zone, centre bush those, etc

I have no specific intention to lower because sometime mall parking i donwan to worry about kong below. prefer convenience

i dont hard cornering, more on high speed run, & overtaking cars. coz i sometime necessary to run for appointment/cheap thrills.

1 person ride mostly or 2 at most.

Often travel uneven roads, many bumps place, prefer bit comfort and minimum body roll

No,lower does not equal to better handling
Read this series of article: http://www.motoiq.com/MagazineArticles/art...sion-Guide.aspx

DC5 don't go to lower if you don't want to adjust geometry because DC5 geometry really went out of whack after you lower it(FD2R fixed DC5 geometry in fact)
Best bet personally,in Klang Valley is get RCS suspension and they will fix geometry for you

I think this is a bit epic...

I'm not a fan of car modifications but I have sat inside a few of my friends car who went ahead with all these lowering or custom suspension setup.

I think one way or another, there is no way you can ever achieve a perfect setup. Even a F1 car also has to find a compromise between speed and durability. My friend titan'ed his Satria. Unfortunately, I was the passenger at the back, driving from Kepong to Setapak (coincidentally MRR2 also). Yeah, he can zig zag without much body roll. However, it was my worst experience in a consumer car. Every pothole/bump/uneven road send jolt up my spine. It is really bad. I cant even describe it with words. Of course, my friend who was into speed didnt really care that much about the comfort anyway. With another friend's Wira, he bought a set of really expensive spring ( didnt bother to ask how much ). It was surprising comfortable, which means it is really soft. However, we end up having to get down from the car for each bumps we came across after his car skirting fell off after scratching the road surface when going through the first bump.

Even the Top 'Not So' Gear fellas also said those million ringgit car also got suspension setup that aimed at breaking your back. Stick with the stock really. Public road aint for racing anyway.

I know 10 yrs old car which still has factory fitted shocks... and they cannot / don't have to be serviced.

New cars nowadays also come with 5 yrs warranty right, so the shocks should last at least that long without having to be serviced every year.

Dampers are never covered in warranties that long. They consider it in the same group as brake pads and battery which are exhaustible.

They are only given a shorter warranty like the first 9 to 12 months to cover any cases of manufacturer defects.

10 years old car with factory fitted shocks? must be cars from the 80s or 90s. After those eras, cars components don't last that long.

hi bro, my volvo bought in 2003/2004, their shocks lasted for awhile, I finally change it around Oct 2014. Initially I'm considering to use Titan.

But reconsider it, after thinking that, the original shocks manage to last long without the need of servicing during it's lifetime. Compare to Titan which required schedule servicing. But titan shocks are actually cheaper the my volvo's original shocks. (off course not factoring their servicing cost).

Currently got 2 volvo's, 2004 XC90 (which I replace the shocks in 2014) and 2007 S40 2.4i. both atleast in my case are fairly problem free. The s40 still using the factory fitted shocks (including mount) but it's a low mileage car only 60,+++Km. Unlike it's big brother now clocking 250,+++Km

hmm.gif  Funny I didn't come across this thread earlier.. must have missed it then.

Wish I had found this thread earlier too. regret doing Titan. Did it in February 2015. Until now retune 4 times but still not satisfied. Driving old school conti car with added power. Seems great after each retune then a week later it just goes to shit. Becomes harsh all on its own. Sad...cos money spent but did not get results desired. Now hv to bear with added vibration too. All they can say is...use higher profile tires...no need to change back to stock mounting...haih...damn frust...

maybe not for all cars..
common cars like proton n perodua still performing well with Titan.. i had Titan installed in wira a few years back, its one of my mod that change the car completely.. ask them for street setup, which i use it for daily no problem.. still comfort and performing well in trackdays..
but at 1st they set rear height kinda high to my liking.. so i just ask my mechanic to lowered a bit by a few centimeter.. before adjust front is 1 finger gap n rear is 2 finger gap, adjust it to 1/2 maybe less finger gap for rear..

Lol. I have to agree. Titan is too hard. Had to lower my tire pressure to compensate harshness. In terms of handling it's impressive.

this brings another problem - tire uneven wear coz of under inflation.....and knowing our potholes..can damage rims if too low....

Monotube have a trouble being soft in the low speed region due to the high pressure being used, thats why they tend to be uncomfortable.

I'm ok with it since my tyres are thicker for SUV. I can't imagine the condition for regular sedan, esp those with huge rims and thinner tyres. Occupants must be absorbing all the vibrations.

Hehe.. U try hard suspension setup + SR3 leather wrap, seriously not comfortable at all..
Most semi or full bucket using fabric which absorb sweat..

Last time i did use recaro enjoy fabric with street tune adjustable is the best of all setup for daily..

wah.. I also want to jump ship already.. Seems like the harshness of the absorber is cracking and tearing all my bushings apart. even my 3 others car can't even feel the road vibrations compared to my titan. Got to stop having morning wood. Now considering F tune.

I using titan absorber few year for my estima acr50
So far feel no shake but bit bumpy, for comfort stil can accept, handling is better compare ori
About service 25k km millage or per year a time
I feel that after i service over one year, must have weird sound come from the absorber, got 3 time also same, first time absorber shaft loose can hear tik tik noise, during uneven road, when they dismantle, the technician shake the shaft i only notice, second time after i service i hear quite the loud sound ngek when i cross bump (hump) ,i call back ask mr how , he say is still new after service need run in, but i drive few month also same, got noise, i go back let him check again, he say no problem ane mention my steering rack got some noise from there ,the ngek sound is becuase absorber boot, sad, after 2 month i found the tyre camber negative lot coz absorber camber screw nut miss align or no adjust well for left, tyre wear gone a side.now the third time noise coming on early morning like the absorber have hinse sound, now need go back service again, warranty only a year after service almost every 13-15month need service one time..now i plan use back original atleast this only family car , and my fren same car using 5 year with ori absorber without any problem, the camber nut need look it on also,if run out negetive then problem,

Above is just my opinion and comment
Nothing pin point on this product
Mayb for those hobbies they wan more good handling and no mind the some sound can use it
For handling is better that ori, but for me spending for this i feel is over
