Hi guys,
been reading thru the thread and there's really many tv box out there. getting myself confused here since i dont really know the technical parts.

what are your recommendations for average use with chinese & english series and movies (and maybe astro channels). are these apps preloaded in the boxes or do i have to get it myself? do i have to pay anything extra to get them?

and where can i buy them? my budget it 300-500.

Havent tried on mine using internal memory, will try later tonite...if time permits.

Tried using external 1TB disk, it played well in the beginning, but stuck half way.

UPDATE: Tested not working on my box, neither my PC, stuck halfway...maybe file is corrupted? hmmm

Hi and welcome.. Sorry, but you clearly have not been reading thru the thread.. Cuz if you have, even the last few pages.. You would have known better than to ask such questions and in the manner they were asked .. The answers to all your questions have been repeated over & over.. bangwall.gif bangwall.gif.. This is a public forum, pls do some proper light reading or go out and buy the first box you see.. icon_rolleyes.gif

hey guys

I've got the UBOX 3 and it seems to be working OK although not many channels are reliable. Had also installed the popcorntime and showbox apps on it. They were both working fine until recently, when the subtitles on both apps have gone haywire.
Any advise from those who seen this happen?

thanks!

Sorry guys if this not the correct forum to ask the above Question. But, just wondering if anyone faced this problem and know a solution. Seems pretty simple and that's why it is annoying smile.gif

It's indeed pretty simple and with simple answers.. The only reliable sources of TV channels or videos are from legitimate sources.. E.g. YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, Hypptv, Astro, iflix, etc.. Any other source is 100% unreliable and bound to fail eventually.. So don't complaint about em.. As content are illegally obtained & distributed.

Subtitles going "haywire".. I'm guessing you mean they are out of sync.. That's probably due to the provided subtitle not being a perfect match to the actual video.. Choose alternative subtitles and or play with a media player that allows subtitles offset.

If u take the box like astro box... buy just press buttons forever, u r dead wrong.

Android box needs love n affection, care and attention.

Solution is to learn what goes on inside the box, DIY to update, upgrade and install new stuff.

Short of that, it become just another empty box.

Yes, it needs a lot of patience too. My sis and parents salute me for this as I'm known for short temper but when it comes to technology stuff, I'll be very patient. tongue.gif
*Parents stick back to Astro after said the above*

Hello,
anything need to take considerations when buying Android box from China?
E.g: Is power rating compatible to use here?

BTW, can you recommend any apps/apk/launcher/Xposed modules to make the best home entertainment experience (aside from Kodi/SPMC)?

IMO, stick to buying local.. Can COD and bla bla.. economy.. bla.. Power rating should be same.. Check with your seller if in doubt..

Recommendations??
Apps--- Read the thread.. Search for keywords or read backwards..
Launcher--- Visit the play store.. download your favorite... Many stick to the stock launcher.. Won't be spending much time looking at the launcher.
Xposed---- Err...this is a media consumption device.. I bet that 99% of world-wide users are more concerned about sourcing great content and its playback.. Than to think of xposed modules.. Plus, sure your not yet box is even rootable..

my advice to u, like voncrane said, buy from local with warranty and support if u are new to such a box.

if u know enough about it, can buy any box from anywhere, u can make it work. short of a lemon unit.

there are plenty of good apps, u just need to read, google, test, try, etc.

kodi - it is not as easy to use well as some people think... will need effort, time n patience.

get started, all the best!
