Just some pictures. Don't have TV at work for me to go power on and play. Really small and heavy Android box.

I have the Melee F10 Deluxe air mouse. I think the performance is really not good. What is your experience on it?

why do u say performance no good?

i have one. it works fine as far as functions are concerned.

BUT... the big problem for me is the keys and print are too small - for eyes and fat fingers.. can't read easily, always press wrong or double. laugh.gif

so, hardly used...

Exactly...haha not suitable for fat fingers like me.
I have a LG magic remote... really smooth pointer experience compared to the F10

i do not know if himedia q5pro is 4th or 5th gen...

himedia like all box makers have multiple ranges, can use diff chipsets over the years.

not sure what u mean by "regardless of source". i am primarily referring to usb playback. whatever audio track is in the file played, that's what it will pass thru to yr AVR.

i assure u current himedia models have firmware and codecs that can do dtshdma and ddtruehd using native app. i.e. himedia's own media center. it also has a mini-bluray menu, i.e. u can navigate easier with chapters, playlist, audio and sub options. within this media center, can also do networking stuff like samba. no need to use other players like kodi or mx or vs or plex - i have tried them but none is as good as the native player. the explanation for that is himedia started as a pure media player co., will not stinge on latest video and audio codecs/licensing.

q5ii going back 4 years can do dtshdma, ddtruehd. (video 1080p)
q16 going back 2 years can do dtshdma, ddtruehd, dd atmos. (video 2160p, 24/30hz)
current q10pro/q5pro can do dtshma, ddtruehd, ddatmos, dts:x. (video 2160p, 60hz)
as for video quality, can stick to the common description:

360, 480, 576, i.e. <720p = SD
720p, 1080p, 1440p = HD
2160p = UHD or 4K

The latest Himedia Q5/10 Pro also support the HDR10 format. Tested on my HDR TV. rclxms.gif

Since you have a Q10 Pro, interested to know more on the HDR and 10 bits colour.

Are the HDR and 10 bits colour only in theory or something you can easily notice on the TV screen? Hope it is the later.

I guess it also depends on the video signal. It cannot give a better picture than what was recorded. Or can it?

Thanks.

I have an Q10 Pro + a HDR TV. With the Q10 Pro setting set to HDR10 mode and play the HDR coded video, the TV will automatic switch to HDR mode. You must have an HDR capable tv to see the different between HDR and SDR. i have tested Q10 Pro setting with HDR & SDR. Played Life of Pi HDR demo, can see the washed out color if SDR mode set but excellent color in HDR mode.

Noted and thanks!

Good to know that one can indeed notice the better HDR.

Looks like I may need to check my TV for HDR!

Problem is we don't have much HDR contents at this moments. My HDR source is from Netflix, play via the tv's built-in app.
Netlfix won't have 4K /HD on android tv box except Nvidia Sheild and Wetek.

Thanks.

What about the 10 bits colors? Can a normal HD TV handle that? Or need UHD TV?

Older tv is using 8 bit panel. So, you can see the 10 bit color
Here is the some interested article to read although is in France language.

Thanks for the French link. Reminds me of one French paper that I sat in uni. Not really French paper but so difficult it was like sitting for a French paper when my sister asked me on how the exam went!

Though in French, one can still read the pictures and tables. Already going for 8K?! That makes HD so small and low quality!

Off topic, so we better stop chatting on TV here. Ha.

Thanks.

My Minix h8 plus, when i watch youtube why i cant go higher video quality only at 720p. Minix was been setup to 1080p for output.

You can try google "OGYouTube" and "microg for OGYT". This will allow you to watch YouTube at 1080p and 1440p. The app also allowed you to download YouTube video resolution from 144p to 2160p.
##You must install the app " microg for OGYT " to be able to use the application OGYouTube
