The Minix Neo U1 has a 64-bit Quad Core CPU.

Where is the best place to buy Minix Neo U1? I saw sellers are selling in Lazada, Lelong, and others. Not looking solely at price but also continual after sales support

rm600 for a minix 2gb/16gb.

vs

rm121 for a mx 1gb/8gb.

there are reasons for this diff.

this 8gb box, you will probably run out of memory very quickly, esp running large apps like kodi and popcorn.

now, that, i am not sure.

i couldn't do on my old box (i/o protocol/speed issues) and gave up.

new box 16gb will take care of everything, be it kodi torrent or popcorn.

I used to own a WD Media Player and I am a happy customer. I later bought Skybox thinking watching cheap AXtro is fine but I went in with big surprise - the watching experience is unbearable with frame cut / turn black every 10 secs. Image is blurry. I now watch official Astro using NJOI decoder paying RM21/month (a good deal by their customer service for me to test watch all nearly all channels including HD for 3 months)

Because there are too many of Android box in the market, to find a good gem is hard now. I'm new to Andoid players. Can other Minix user attest to this, especially this Neo U1 model?

I want to be on the safe side, buy only good quality product that can last

I am using the other minix model, neo xh-8+, it has been defect free for the past 7 months. the internal storage of 16gb is sufficient for me with all the addons and apk that I have installed. mostly using it for ahem iptv apps, hypp tv everywhere and kodi stuff. you will not go wrong with this minix.

As has been mentioned earlier... Buying an android box does not equal instant access to live TV channels.. Find the source play the source.. It's that simple.. As for after sales support from a seller, you are better off learning on your own and you can.. An android box is just that, a box. However, favorable output depends on capable hardware and software. So when you ask if the Minix Neo U1 might have blurry images or frame cuts... It won't unless you install an app that produces bad results... Example using the official YouTube app or addon will NOT result in dropped frames or blurry images. But, some fishy app can.

IMO, A "good" android box cannot be gotten for around RM200, especially for KODI usage. It would be wise to avoid such, unless you are eager to deal with issues that WILL arise.. Need to at least double your budget.. For a decent KODI only experience around that price range, look at the RPI.. Setup and maintainance of an RPI can be challenging.

I'm currently using two types of android box now. One is Hi-media H8 and the other is Minix U1. My personal experience from both these boxes are Minix U1 is way better and stable. Minix U1 dual band capabilities is very useful when you are sharing internet connection with more than 8 users at one time. Support are excellent both and a new firmware FW006 is due anytime soon. Then again it's my own personal experience and taste. If you need to know more about minix, try read the feedbacks or issues about it here http://www.minixforum.com/

Understandable.. But currency rates.. Try searching for secondhand deals.. Might get lucky with someone who's willing to let go at around your budget..
