Blu tack.

might give it a try smile.gif

QUOTE(TheAdmiral @ Mar 12 2014, 08:46 AM)
3.0 hand the moment the joint pop off its forever loose, just reattaching it wont make any difference. Put a layer of super glue on the joint, let it harden first and then reattached it and see how. The extra layer of super glue could help in tightening the joint. If that fail then just accept it and move on.

actually i have both super glue and mr.cement lying around, do both give same result or different?
will give it a try

QUOTE(General_Nic @ Mar 12 2014, 11:28 AM)
last resort, or if your don't really use that wrist joint, just glue it permenantly
*
currently it was so loose i let it hold a beam rifle before i get to work, when i got back home, it was either tilted down / fell down. so, yeah, might glue it permanently.

The thing is though, super glue or mr. cement?

Or you can cut a very small piece of cardboard, and stuff it between the flat part of the joint and the inner palm. It should be really tight by then, but blu tack should work as well.

The idea here is to make the joint thicker in hopes of filling up the cavity better since the moment it pop off some plastic in the cavity/joint has been strip off reducing surface contact which in turns making it loose. Cement once dries leaves no traces by itself, it just melts the plastic in order to bond it to other surfaces hence cement in this context serve no purpose. Super glue when dries form a layer over the plastic in essence making it thicker which is what we want. Use super glue if u wan to try this out.

No guarantee though.

If u decided to permanently glue the thing then cement is the better idea. Super glue once dry is brittle.

most newer MG now use swap finger like HG
no more 1-1-3 finger (except for old mold since Bandai too lazy)

so few MG have fully articulated hand like 3.0, Jesta, Sinanju Stein and other

i think that depends on the size of the kit, like seed and wing series all smaller than UC, oni UC kits are big enough to adopt the new finger design

for the finger/hands for MG. it seems that it has its pros and cons.
and there is no perfect implementation so far.

Age, Seed and the newest MG GX have swap finger hand
its not about the size actually because even the standard size UC gundam have fully articulate hand(RX78-2 3.0)

more like they give it because they want to

RX78-2 might be 'standard size', but its hand design has always been in bigger proportion compared to a more natural size on other kits.

if in big size like HGUC Psycho gundam or any PG I dont mind full articulate fingers
and usually Gunpla not for playing one, prefer fixed finger to hold those weapons smile.gif

and forgot to tell ralph_d
there are 3rd party full articulate finger hand in market
cost about rm30-50 if you dont mind to get it to replace current one

I don't mind any version, as long as it's detailed and not the 90's NG/HF funny shape types

as for the third party, no pegs to hold weapons is even more PITA whistling.gif

i have these actually, originally planning to use on my MG wing, but too big for wing to use, peg doesn't fit

it might fit for RX-78-2, but here's the current problem

the peg stuck in there

i remember sazabi's was newer, a zeon hand ver, but they're the same, only shape is different
and the rest of the MG use the same plate MP1 for the hands
so, yeah

at first i thought the problem is the inner palm, but not. here's the real problem:

peg it in, it'll slide out
now impossible to hold the bazooka

thanks for the explanation thumbup.gif
i might go for superglue on this one, the real problem is the peg on the wrist, not the palm.

just apply a layer of super glue on the peg and wait for it to dry, then put it back in.. the super glue will create a thicker peg and provide more friction.. your problem was more easily solved than you described earlier sweat.gif
