No claim is possible or eligible for in-laws regardless of father or mother.

Hi guys, this will be my first time to submit tax. Got few questions here:

1) I lost my EA form, can I get it online? Or must request from company again? tongue.gif

2) I bought a laptop last month, can I claim it? (RM1.5k only)

3) Self is Christian actually, every month got some "contribution" to my church, roughly 10% of salary/mth. Can I claim it under "donation/gift"? I got the receipt every month

Hope to hear from you all soon

Regards.

1. Get from your company. You can't get it online.

2. Laptop bought in year 2014, can only claim in tax submission for year 2014. Currently I assume you are doing tax submission for year 2013. Keep this to submit next year.

3. Check the receipt to see if it's stated there "tax deductible". Otherwise, clarify with your church.

But those are done on voluntary basis for the sake of faith, shouldn't be using it for tax reduction. Just my humble opinion. laugh.gif

Just clarify with your church. If I'm not mistaken, they have to be registered with the gov to be able to be tax deductible or something. Those famous NFP organizations usually will advertise donating to them is tax deductible and they will issue us a receipt clearly saying "For tax purposes". laugh.gif

I also claim for my donation to one of the charity organization.

At the bottom left of receipts itself stated that "Dikecualikan Cukai Pendapatan Menarat Sek 44(6)". If your receipt does not stated that, then I am not sure.

I agree with you that there is no harm to claim from LHDN since Govt actually encouraged it by allowing us to claim against our tax. Most important thing is the org that received the money actually utilized money for welfare purpose. flex.gif

Nope, cannot simply claim just because it is for charity, because lhdn clearly states, it must be from approved list of organizations..
