==> You'll Never Walk Alone <==

http://www.unbase.com/n/5853623009

When you walk through a storm hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm there's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
For your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone.

On a serious note, I'd like to know if this Ts is an actual LFC fan.

Coz, well, macam tak pernah tengok.

and also...

can change the heading?

'Suarez please stay'? lets not sound so pathetic.

But I've never seen him in the thread and also the heading screams desperation without basis.

Guys don't spread stories about Suarez committing his future. It's just negotations, nothing solid yet. Even if he's signing a new one, it just signifies that he's getting paid higher and we're getting solid assurance for the improved buyout clause. He can still leave if someone comes along to pay the clause. Of course, it would take crazy money. ^^

I saw that too. 70mil is rubbish considering Bale is over 80mil. We should get somewhere 160mil at least for a natural striker with deadly goalscoring background. ^^

exactly.... they are nowhere near Suarez... like the fans and the neutral said
it is understandable if he goes to RM, or Barca, but why going to gunners when they are smaller than liverpool
ambition wise, i dont think they are any better than Liverpool
they could have spend the money years b4 getting ozil and could have won a cup... why this year and after so many star players left.
they left for silverware and they did get silverware rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

At least there is negotiation taking place.

Getting paid higher is worthwhile for a player that can make the difference to the whole team. A extra 3 points (because of the player difference) that enable the club goes into CL, may worth 20-30 million, while can attract good player in transfer window.

While improved buyout clause good for the club.

The boss talks about large contracts offered to young players.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/new...ed-boss-2940189?

QUOTE
Like Flanagan, Sterling has fought his way back into the first team picture, in part because the manager has stressed the need to structure deals to reflect achievement, not potential.

Rodgers said as much when he agreed an incentive-based contract with Sterling last year.

"I have seen it so much with young players. You see these young boys play one or two games, they get handed these incredible contracts and it goes downhill from there," he explained.

"When they reach 22 or 23 years of age, you hear people ask, 'What has happened to so and so?' The biggest thing that distorts the reality of footballers is money. If we are going to help young footballers, you have to protect them and not give them big contracts.

"You are seeing young players who are multi-millionaires and, no matter what you say, it takes the edge off them."
Could not agree more. Incentive based contracts are the way to go with young players.

yup but if we dont offer better contract then other team will come to poach our player. Just like sterling last time.. In the end, the player himself should change their attitude

I think that's a common conflict between the men in suits and the manager/coach. Managers/coaches want the best deal possible for their players - sometimes this includes lowering the pay to incite ambition and hunger from the players. But the man in suits look at players as business assets and throw money at them in hoping to rebuff other club's interests.

Which is why he's saying that the entire system is flawed as clubs are throwing large amounts of money at young players and ultimately, a large proportion of them have disappeared into obscurity because they stop trying. It is why he's suggesting that contracts should be incentive based to young players have to continue to improve and perform. He isn't suggesting that we are the only club who should do this.

Seems like even AVB doesnt want Eriksen. Why a lot of top manager doesnt want him? He looks good and one of the brightest of all the 7 big signings of Spurs. It surprised me actually... When he left 1 year contract and up for grab, no one bother to put in effort to sign him either...it surprised me really..

the versatility problem and team fit... he will be dead to play Left side coz of his slow pace, he not score too much to play SS, he doesnt have the engine to be in CM in 4-4-2.. he is a purely Attacking midfield just like riquelme.. problem with spurs is soldado.. he's targetman.. there's no point you give the through pass to targetman

Rafa didn't get all the players he wanted but he made do with what he had. Alvez, Simao, Silva, Jovetic and Barry just to name a few. And BR too missed out a few targets last season when we failed to sign Sigurdson, Dempsey and Sturridge during the summer. Must be really hard for AVB to had to settle for the likes of Eriksen, Soldado, Chadli and Lamela. Even if they were not his first choice, they are still quality players. He didn't have plan B and as Carra pointed out, not one of the 10 signings made any significant impact this season. I wonder what BR or Rafa could do if they had the luxury of having those kind of players as 2nd choice.

Seems like even AVB doesnt want Eriksen. Why a lot of top manager doesnt want him? He looks good and one of the brightest of all the 7 big signings of Spurs. It surprised me actually... When he left 1 year contract and up for grab, no one bother to put in effort to sign him either...it surprised me really..

saw an analysis about the Spurs game that they keep saying AVB played into BR's strategy. Why cant they just give credit to the so called underperforming players like "Henderson, Allen, Sterling & Flangan" ??

Just by the video on our pressing of Spurs Sterling was like on steroids...

coz they dont mess with transfer.. their experience player is really a real experienced.. so the youngster come to the team without any pressure coz most of time they killed before 70th min.. so those enter after that can enjoy the remaining time..

Salah should be a good signing. Quite excited by the news/gossip that he is one of the targets.

If in case he didn't perform, we cant blame him too..we all already know his name is "Salah".

If we hammered Cardiff, Vincent's gonna have a very good excuse to sack him. Poor Mackay.

The fiasco with Cardiff, where VT is both lauded and derided, I can only conclude that whatever happens in boardroom should stay there and not affect the team. Personally I felt that VT has an ego bigger than his head, some things are best kept private, instead he need his director to issue statement of unhappiness, and let the whole world knows that there will be no monies for reinforcement, which I find a bit like hanging dirty laundry in the public. The counter argument is of course the need to balance the book, but I am sure there is a proper channel to do that. All in all, I don't think this public spat is helpful to both the manager, team and supporter...and it is up to us to exploit, and if we do wat we did to Spurds, its high likely we are looking at the axe for Mackay too...

Against Cardiff, I really hope to see new faces in the 1st eleven, players such as Albertto & Aspas...no disrespect to Cardiff, but this is the type of match where you'll want to see some rotation to freshen the squad with impending matches against Chelski and Sitty. Would be great too if we can sub Suarez, whatnot after what happened to Aguero and RVP.....in this case just my negative tot. Having said this, the match against Cardiff is anything but easy, with Frazier Campbell, Medel and ex-reds Bellamy, they can cause us problems, and in defense they have some pretty decent players in Caulkner and Whittingham...I wuld say bring them on, and lets have a game of decent soccer...

it is not good to rest our core squad as we need 3 points and keep the momentum. probably we can sub after we lead comfortable.

I think BR needs to start with the strongest available squad. Get some early goals and rest a few of them in the second half, especially Suarez.

I would assume BR put up the same eleven on the Cardiff game, it's 3 points to grab for us to consolidate our league standing. We've to keep the same mentality and momentum going, avoid taking things for granted.

let mackay get sacked or tan go into a hysteric fit, either way there is absolutely no reason to rotate for cardiff.
after cardiff, we still have plenty of rest as next game is only 5 days later, which is when the shitstorm starts with 3 games in 5 days...

Yeah i agree. The current first 11 are relatively young and don't play more than one match a week so they have more than enough time to recuperate between matches. Only player that should be rested is Gerrard but he's getting his much deserved break. Lucas is perhaps another player we need to look after but it does looks like BR is subbing him early in the 2nd half to manage both the player's and the team's energy level.

Knowing BR, it will be the same first 11 to meet Cardiff.

Cardiff City: Malky Mackay told to quit or be sacked by Vincent Tan

If we hammered Cardiff, Vincent's gonna have a very good excuse to sack him. Poor Mackay.
*
And if he does get sacked that would make 3 managers that BR has played a part leading to their demise; AVB, Steve Clarke and potentially Mackay. Wonder what would happen if BR gets one over Chelsea.

PS: Look at the shameless VT trying to get a bit of media fame but Mackay is having none of it. tongue.gif

Luis Suarez signs new contract at LFC

Luis Suarez today committed his future to Liverpool Football Club by signing a new long-term contract with the club.

The 26-year-old Uruguayan insists he is 'proud' and 'delighted' at having put pen to paper on the new extended deal and is focused on helping the club achieve its ambitions of sustainable success both domestically and in Europe.

The Reds' No.7 also paid tribute to the supporters, citing the 'special relationship' he has with them as a key factor in reaffirming his commitment to Liverpool.

Suarez joined the club in January 2011 and is widely regarded as one of the most talented players in world football.
This season alone, Suarez has scored 17 goals in 11 Barclays Premier League starts.

"I am delighted to have agreed a new deal with Liverpool and have my future secured for the long term," said Suarez.

"We have some great players and the team is growing and improving all the time. I believe I can achieve the ambitions of winning trophies and playing at the very highest level with Liverpool. My aim is to help get us there as quickly as possible.

"Without doubt the backing I have received from the Liverpool fans has influenced my decision. I am so proud to represent them and go out to do my best for them every time I pull on the shirt.

"We have a special relationship; they have love for me and in return I love them back. I will always do my best for them and hopefully we can achieve success together."

Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, said the news will give everyone a lift: "This is fantastic news for everyone associated with the club; the team, the owners and most importantly the supporters.

"Luis is a world-class talent and securing his services is crucial for what we are trying to achieve here.

"What's most important and most exciting is that, at just 26 years old, his best years are still ahead of him and we now know we'll be seeing him reach that potential in a Liverpool shirt."

Principal owner, John W Henry, believes it shows the progress being made on and off the field: "We are committed to working hard to keep our best players and this is an indication that we are moving in the right direction and moving at a pace that impresses one of the best players in world football.

"The club has made major strides forward in recent years and we are all committed to delivering the success our supporters want and deserve."

Liverpool chairman, Tom Werner, said: "This demonstrates our commitment, as an ownership group, to building a team that competes at the highest level both in the Barclays Premier League and in Europe.

"Our primary motive is to do what is best for Liverpool Football Club and today's news is another significant step forward on this journey."

Luis Suarez:
"I want to say a big, big thank-you very much. When I come onto the pitch, their motivation is fantastic for me and for the club. When I was a child, I would watch the Liverpool fans on TV and I would see the Kop and all the supporters and I thought they were the best in the world."

Am delighted with the news that LS signed the contract extension. THis must be the 2nd Xmas gift to all red fa0ns throughout the world. Must say I am impressed by Ayre for his effectiveness in getting things done, and a dedication to FSG - Werner and Henry for their class, determination and ambition shown throughout their ownership, smart owners both! I thot they should be commended, coming from the other part of the world where the play is known as soccer, they havent done much wrong do they....managing the club with quiet effectiveness and ruthless efficiency, unlike certain clubs with deluded clown for an owner - chelski, Newcastle, and spurds included....They have so far manage liverpool with the dignity befit one of the most successful club in England. I would've shuddered at the thought of Vincent Tan taking over Liverpool and change its color to blue.....err...wait he wanted the other way around. And i read with glee and laugh so hard my neighbour tot i went berserk, one of the comment says that VT should sack Mackay..and hire najib....since everything rise with najib -petrol, electricity tariff, assessment fee... will rise, rise and rise, guarantee Cardiff will rise up the table...hahahahha

Excellent news regarding Suarez's new contract. Definitely deserves the 200k p/w. Rumors are there's a clause of 100m with cl or 80m without cl, but wouldn't let it bother me.

Suarez does deserve cl footie and it has to be with us smile.gif

Wha standard LFC has reduced is it? tongue.gif

Dispensing 'legends' as easy as giving candy's to little girls ? rolleyes.gif

Last season there were doubts of BR's calibre. No doubt, this season he has release some shackles and allayed some doubts of his of his technical naivety. (Remember 4 centre backs? amongst his gaffes?)

As couple of forumers pointed out (which is clear to see) as least BR does adjust, not overly stubbornly enforce something that 90% won't work. Sure he will still stumble along, as in any other manager do. Just we look forward to lesser heartaches sweat.gif

Rodgers has something unlike some other managers, which would be the reason why FSG has indentified & chosen him as manager.

Even Joe fagan is not exactly regarded that as to be labelled as 'legend' (help deliver Liverpoolfc a European cup, English league title (now called premiership).

BR hasn't help win anything for Liverpool yet, no doubt we have encouraging signs amongst the grapevine that perhaps Liverpoolfc are really on an upturn. Let's stay grounded. wink.gif

Legend? No lar, notchet sweat.gif . candidacy as legend, perhaps in the making.

Spare a bit of thought for Mackay whose team we gonna thrash tonite

QUOTE
Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay did not attend his pre-match press conference on Friday morning following the reported ultimatum he received from owner Vincent Tan, although those in attendance were informed that the Scot remains in charge of the side for the time being.

News emerged last night that Tan’s unhappiness with Mackay’s recent action had got to the point that he sent an email to the manager informing him he should resign or face being sacked.

Luis Suarez Have Signed a 200-225k a week Deal until 2018
- Freaking big news this morning...
- Delighted but worried

The Worried Part
Guys it happen so fast. Don't u think there is problem? The main talking point is not the salary increased but there should b an exit clause inserted into the new contract paving into Suarez to signed. There is still no clue where how much is the exit claused but should b at least in the region 60mil which i think is fair. Of coz 80mil is what we can hope but we gonna be realistic. Furthermore Bale did board to plane to Madrid after signing a renew contract with spurs earlier. So down jump around ok? He's safe with us until end of 2014/15 summer at least.

The Delighted Part
- Means he will stay for another 1 1/2 season with us at least. U never know.
- But the positive is ...
1st - if He doesn't think we r capable of top 4 finish o challenging title..do u think he would signed.
2nd - Is to believed that FSG has promised to suarez that substantial will b make available to BR to strengthen in January & in the summer. Else..i dont think he will signed.
3rd - I believe he know we r heading the right direction & he has become more happy on the pitch ever before.
4th - His signings really give a big boast to the squad heading the defining weeks of our season.

Liverpool 4 the Title?
Is a big ask but i do believe if we do win the 4match schedule to play starting form this week to new years day. We r..Yes we r. 12points may seem difficult to achieve but getting 9/12p may not be a bad idea. Guys..we gotto b positive. I didnt give us a chance against spurs due to our record against them is worse than against chelsea & city. I was think they r our bogey team. Finally 1 match the fear is over! It really give us the boast at the right time. That's football. Like Spurs & arsenal...they have their up against us & city but they didnt take the chances. Once we r ahead..there we go. We have never won this season is we fell behind 1st. If we scold 1st each and very game until end of the season is a 70/30 probability that we will win the game. Don'y pls dont wear our 1st away strip anymore this season. the pass 4 times wear, we lose all games played. We won 2 out 2 if i'm not wrong wearing the 3rd kit.

We need to Strengthen in we want to Win the League this Season
Here's the list (On the radar/talk on going)
Rightback
- Montoya @ 6mil o "Summer Free"
CM
- Alonso "Summer Free"
- Diego "Summer Free"
- Koke @ 15-22mil
AM
- Julian Draxler @ 15-20mil
Rodgers flew to Gelsenkirchen to watch Schalke beat Basel and progress to the last 16 of this season’s Champions League
- 'Egyptian Messi' Mohamed Salah @ 10-15mil

CF
- Valmir Berisha..Dubbed the 'new Zlatan Ibrahimovic'.
Score a Hattrick against Argentina in the recent Under-17 World Cup in Abu Dhabi.

Liverpool Vs Cardiff
- Rodgers should rest a few player for this game in view keeping them fresh during the christmas period
- Else 60min changes..

Line-up
- Mignolet
- Johnson (Kelly)
- Toure
- Agger
- Cissokho
- Allen
- Lucas (Rossetier)
- Henderson
- Coutinho (Alberto)
- Aspas/Moses
- Suarez

How we Pan Out?
- Due to uncertainty of cardiff..we should put them to bed as early as possible. We need to show our true title credential & if we win big tonite..it will ultimately strike fear into city hearts that this Liverpool can b taken lightly. Yes..city is great in attack but in defensive they r not the strongest. If we can play like we did with spurs..we can beat anyteam. Get back to cardiff. Dangerous thru set-piece else manageable. This will mark Suarez out of the game so others must up their game.

Predict...
Goin for a hard fought 3-0 win. Confidence is sky high. If we score 2nd in the 1st half then 4-6 is in the cards. Else happily to win with a 2/3 - 0 scoreline.

Cheers.

Chris L.

The last match would determine the outcome of the league standing, due to the fact that Dillon came back to Malaysia, it jinx the team, and made Liverpool lost the match to Newcastle, in the end, Liverpool lost the league title to another team in just one game, and its the last game of the season. mad.gif vmad.gif

Fantastic news with Suarez putting pen to paper. Even if he does force a move, clubs will have to pay over the top for him. Credit to Rodgers and FSG. They handled the whole situation perfectly. They refused to budge when the forward wanted out and when Arsenal made an offer. Rodgers showed him who's boss by having him train alone clearly sending a message that no player is bigger than the club. He has since led the team into a Champions League contention which is an amazing feat considering the state we were in just last season, amidst more illustrious managers. Rodgers has always had my backing and I'm hoping he'll be the one to deliver the holy grail, cementing himself in Liverpool folklore. Credit also to the fans for sticking by Luis.

Cardiff City are in disarray at the moment and I feel for McKay although I'm not surprised with his treatment. The Tan's have a blemished reputation when it comes to the way they treat their staff and business partners. He isn't doing much to win the fans over, least of all with his fashion sense. If we play to our ability, we can expect a convincing victory but I don't want to jinx it. Could be one of those matches where we pepper their goal but contrive to hit the post 30 times and they score with their only opportunity of the game. This however seems unlikely especially given the buoyant mood amongst the players and supporters with Suarez committing his short term future to the club. The contrasting atmospheres at both clubs couldn't be more stark. The players however may be fired up to give McKay a stay of execution. Having said that I don't think they have the quality but you never know. Hit then hard and hit them fast.

The signal of intent from FSG, is very important, the very fact that the contract that LS extended, is a new pay record at the club indicate that Liverpool is NOT a selling club, not like Arse nor Spurs... Of course the extension would cover the ability of the club to compete and ultimately CL..but as BR emphasized earlier, he is not here to be 2nd or 3rd, but the aim is alwiz to win titles... and I am sure Suarez dont sign because of pay rise only without knowing the club's ambition. The payscale for Suarez is also an indicator that the club owner recognized top talents, and is not afraid to pay for them if the potential player can improve the current squad

If you look at the big pic, FSG knew that the team is ready to compete and probably need maybe 2 top talents to complete the jigsaw...if we can attract and strenghten 1 each in the midfield and attack, then overall outlay of investment is not too huge perse...of cos they had invested heavily during KK's time, but it is relative to the overall budget and the sort of achievement we looking at...I have my suspicion that if we succeed with Mikthryan and Costa, we wouldnt be able to strengthen the defense, but with both deal fell thru, we strenghten heavily in defense, which leaves the midfield and attack as the area of focus, which i am sure is what BR is looking into...

Suarez said: ‘It’s nice because when you extend your contract, you extend it because you want to stay here for the future. I signed not only for two-and-a-half more years, but I signed for a long time to stay here and I am so happy.
‘The first dream for me is to play in the Champions League with Liverpool.

‘It’s my hope and my dream. I think when we have very good players, we can try our best at the Premier League. ‘Brendan Rodgers was very important. When you have the confidence of the manager, you can try your best. In the dressing room I am so happy. I don’t have problems with anyone. ‘We have many big players but in the dressing room they are all nice people and they are funny too. This is important. I love the city and the supporters. They help me and I try my best on the pitch for them.

‘The summer was a difficult time but they helped me to come back and play.’

I think Suarez is a lot happier, at least that's the vibe i'm getting from his interviews. The biting and Evra incident took a toll on him and our mediocre performance aggravated the situation. This season our performance has improved tenfold and he looks like he's enjoying his football a lot more. He doesn't try to force things, at least not as much as before, and looks to create for his teammates. It does looks like he trust his teammates a lot more than usual and it only makes him more dangerous than ever. Not only he can score outrages goals but defenders will have to be super aware of his playmaking abilities.

It's amazing to see how much he has improved this season .... and i hope it serves to remind the board and manager that sometimes stalling or preventing our players to leave could make all the difference in the world.

It does but not as much impact with players from South Korea, Japan and China. But he does looks like a typical BR type of player. Fast and technically good on the ball.

Not in the same way a Japanese or Chinese player will. China has the largest population on the planet. I imagine it's why Man Utd signed Dong Fanzhou back then. How influential is China? Well if you look to the NBA, Yao Ming was voted as starting centre for the Western Conference All-Stars despite having an average 1st season with the Rockets. This, despite there being more established centres like Shaquille O'Neal. Japan has a 40 million more people than Egypt and higher spending power.

With all the shenanigans happening at Cardiff, I expect them to be all fired up against us. They will most likely be very compact in the middle of the park and not let our players have alot of time on the ball. Considering they do not play a high defensive line like spurs, space is definitely going to be an issue for us to exploit therefore the likes of Coutinho should be key in unlocking their defences. Tricky match I would say, even if it's a win for us I don't think it will come easy. A set piece to decide the outcome of the match for either side i think. I wouldn't be suprised if it ended up as draw TBH. Oh well let's hope for the best.
*
Agree, we may come good if we can play like the Spurs game. But if otherwise, then we need to take advantage of setpieces. I say get them to commit fall in dangerous area and let Suarez give a freekick lesson biggrin.gif rclxms.gif Again Hendo role will be massive. Expect him to unsettle the defense. And Suarez will thank him again for serving goal on his plate.

No care no care, no league title = #BROUT tongue.gif

Now our central defenders is good enough, during Jan transfer, I would be very happy if we managed to land Martin Montoya from Barca, Johnson is totally lost his form. Enrique is good enough for left back, Flanno and Kelly good as a backup. Hoping to get a solid DM to challenge Lucas spot too.

If its possible, then getting Gerrard Diuloufu from Barca after his loan spell finish, then we could play Alberto as left wing, Diuloufu as right wing, Coutinho as AM. Fuuuhhh double Barca penetration from both wings. drool.gif

Luis Alberto ? He's not a Barca product, he was only on loan to Barca for one season. I think i prefer with the current setup; Lucas as holding, Allen and Hendo as box to box. Coutinho, Sterling and Suarez as the attacking forwards. Wouldn't mind Deulofeu tho, would make nice addition to the team. But don't forget we still have Sturridge and Gerrard lol.

*
He is not from Barca academy? my bad.. tongue.gif But still he trained at Barca ground, so its good. laugh.gif
I do agree that our current line up is solid enough, but I don't think Lucas, Allen, Hendo, and Sterling can maintain their form, take Sterling as example, his form is like the wave, high and low.

QUOTE(w_lun @ Dec 21 2013, 04:23 PM)
Heavily linked with Fernando Reges from Porto, Matic from Benfica and M'Villa from Rubin. All DM.
My guess, Fernando is top in the list
*
Glad to hear that, but only heard M'Villa before. biggrin.gif

Agree about Sterling. He's going to have high and low points through out the season. Which is why he's a backup for Sturridge. We definitely should add one or two midfielders as injuries to any of our midfielders can be potentially catastrophic.

Guys. We need 3 key areas.
- A strikers cum winger
- A CM
- A Fullback

Fullback
- BR Midfield 3 system nedd 2 attacking fullback to provide width.
- Once Johnson & Enrique is out..we r weak in that area
- So priority getting montoya from barca is a "Priority" for us to sustained until end of May.
- Flaganan still alot to learned while cissokho not performing well enough.

Central Midfield
- With Gerrard out, it's essential to add another midfield to the rang
- there is no back up. Alberto is more to a supporting striker role
- There is a talk that we may go for "Koke" in January window but it may cost us 15mil-18mil at least
- Derby Will Hughes seems to be otw if last month news was true that we reached agreement to bring him in Juanjary

Striker
- We cant rely Suarez all year long
- Daniel is out n may b injured again if he's not fully recover.
- Getting a striker cum winger may shoulder the burden.
- Alot of u guys ask us to get all sort of renowned striker..but reality fact they wont play second field to suarez & daniel
- I think getting Jeremy Menez on cheap in January is a bargain coz he has fallen down the packing order in PSG
- Just like daniel & coutinho. talented but fallen down pecking order.
- We got them cheap & they worth 20mil player now.
- Trust me..menez on his day as goods as any sikt striker

Cut in short. We must buy & win tonite..

Go Go Reds...

dillon, i would be a happy man to see us playing in CL next season but would be overjoy if we can challenge for the top spot. Expectation is one thing but deep down don't we all want to see Gerrard lifting the PL? He doesn't have that many years to go and we are really in good position this year with all the hoo haa going on with the big teams. Don't wish to see him retired like Carragher without his hand on the league trophy. sad.gif

on transfer, there are so many players up for grab with contract expiring come January I hope BR can grab some good deals for us. nod.gif

Ok. I get it, bro. That means I will only get to come back if we are 4 points ahead and last game vs Newcastle biggrin.gif

True. So many transitional period for other teams except for Arse. It's a good advantage if FSG can invest. I am sure they see the opportunity as well.

But I am always against ridiculous spending because people will jump on the manager's back 3 times faster because of the money spent. Look at AVB for example.

Big money = big turnaround and big result will become the big expectation. That's reality.

Spend cautiously on the right players and of course if we can push on for better things, then I would be delighted.

I still have a feeling that I will come back in May! Hahahaha. That means?

On the match later, I feel that there is too much positiveness in our camp and too much negativeness in Cardiff's camp.

Luis signing a new contract provide a big cheer to everyone but in the past Liverpool are quite a party breaker.

Hence, there were early concerns of Cardiff City's players may work their socks off to save their manager while we may be complacent.

However, I feel differently. This is not about result determining the fate of Mackay. It is personal feud. It is the call for more players needed in January hence they may show their vulnerability to prove the manager right instead tongue.gif

I have a feeling it will be a big score tonight because of all the positiveness in our camp this week and the result of last week have made everyone's appetite much higher, and much more hungry and desire for more. If we as fans desire more when things are going our way, so does our boys. We must continue to put in hungry boys like Suarez, Hendo and Sakho. They were the workhorses from defense to midfield to attack and they shall be very important again in this game.

If the bookies aint gonna mess this up, then we should be very comfortable putting a good show in front of the Kop where usually Mignolet is known to put up spectacular performances.

Logically speaking, there are about 10 mid table to bottom teams, hence if the bookie mess every match where team is favorite, then we are looking at 20 games losses per season tongue.gif

And thus, people wont bet anymore and wont watch football as well. They will all switch to Women's Basketball because at least there are some other balls to watch when the main ball fails to give you the result you desire. LOL biggrin.gif

Brendan Rodgers has named an unchanged line-up for Liverpool's Barclays Premier League clash against Cardiff City at Anfield today.
luis suarez tottenham website

The manager has elected to pick the same starting XI as the one which thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 5-0 at White Hart Lane six days ago.

Luis Suarez is once again the Reds' captain in the absence of Steven Gerrard, as Daniel Agger is on the substitutes' bench.

The Liverpool team in full : Mignolet, Johnson, Flanagan, Skrtel, Sakho, Lucas, Allen, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Suarez.

Subs: Jones, Toure, Agger, Alberto, Aspas, Moses, Kelly.

That's it! I am expecting BR to keep the same team going. I expect to see a slow start and pick up after 10 minutes. And as usual, we always keep the extra stamina for the last 15 minutes to push our tired opponents.

And we must do exactly what we did to Spurs. Quick exchange of passes. They were trying to press us high up using Everton's way and that was the way to counter them back.

Cardiff were known to be just as ambitious in attack. So it could be a good game.

Hope Coutinho can score at least 1 goal to boost his confidence in front of goal. He had been great in the last two matches but poor in term of finishing.

Nah, i can do without them scoring. I hope to see Suarez and Couts splitting the numbers between them. Of course for Luis is the "Kasut Emas". So it's important for him to add on and keep going before Kun the Thai-Kun comes back tongue.gif

Leading is not enough. Alberto maybe, but Spanish Mr Bean, Mayan Aspas still has some work to do. He can come in when we are comfortable hence it can help to bring the best out of him under no pressure.

Sterling has the pace.
Hendo gives a lot of chemistry to the team.
Suarez has fast feet + godlike finishing.
Sakho is very solid. Skrtel defended well too.

Hope to see more from Coutinho.
Please play Agger.

As usual, Cardiff will come out in full force early in the second half. We need to weather the storm and attack with pace on the counter. More importantly, keep pouncing in smile.gif

we need all our fringe players to build up match fitness in case of injuries. Reckon the next to come on is Alberto then Aspas

Joe Allen the weakest link?
Doesn't know what he's doing when he's in the final third.
Passing hasn't been incisive/accurate.
Everyone in the team stepped up considerably, but Allen though..

Calm down guys. We are playing 2 big teams next. Need to preserve energy la. Why go and destroy Cardiff like hell and get fatigue?

You can see everyone is getting tired at the end.

Agreed we have bigger game next week instead of scoring happily and fatigue on next match

Just hope Sterling will get sharper and better touch in front of goal. Coz Suarez will continue to provide him with those chances. And against City and Chelsea he needs to bury them.

Good game overall, great first half, foot off the pedal for second but understandable to conserve stamina. Shaky defending though from set pieces. Skrtel's wrestling gets me nervous every time.

The defense did alot better after conceding a needless goal.

However, Skirt is living dangerously. Could have been a penalty for cardiff and it would give me heart attack.

Couts and Hendo just got tired nearing 75th minute. Agree that Alberto should come in.

We definitely sat back in the 2nd half and i have a feeling BR didn't feel the need to press on and humiliate Cardiff. Proud of the scousers showing solidarity defending Mackay. We know far too well what's it like to be under clueless owners.

Job done. Bring on City.

Felt for Mackay. Hope he'll still stay in PL if he was sacked by VT

Can see how stressful Mackay was. Keep adjusting his tie despite having just done so 5 seconds ago.

Anyway, the assists of Hendo were of top quality...One backheel, one world class flick.

Well at least Tony Fernandez behave with dignity and understands the game, VT seems to treat everyone beneath him which goes against the very nature of the game itself. Football is all about community and people the connected to the game - take away that and you take away the soul of the game which is exactly what VT is doing at Cardiff.

On Sterling, the past few games he had really freshened up. blistering pace and scores.

need to work on his first touch though as his first touch is letting him down if not he would even be better.

his pace and attacking the defensive player are very good traits that we need now.

Not the first time we've seen Sterling's first/second touch lets him down after running clear of the defense. That's definitely a part of his game he can learn from Suarez.

One thing I really like is our burst of acceleration in counter attack. That is very useful against Man City.

I find that if we concentrate carefully, we can snuff out teams in the defense very calmly and throw a quick succession of passes and let Suarez and Sterling pounce.

So if we keep cautious tactic, MC will be nervous and will start throwing in waves of attack, exposing themselves.

Sterling has been phenomenal. This is a 19 year old winger so ask yourself when was the last time you saw a 19 year old Liverpool player absolutely murdering a leftback and banging in goals ? Spurs's Paulinjo, Capoue and Naughton took turns getting skinned by him and today it was no different.

Sterling to me just easily gets over excited. Cant blame him though as even Suarez on a few occasions got excited and spurned his chances.

Raheem just needs to think quickly, whether to pass or to test the keeper. He seems to be a sap slower in making decisions. That ultimately cost his end product.

He's learning and he's lucky that he's got several good players to learn from. I notice that Suarez has been psyching him up before each game and he looks genuinely happy whenever Sterling bags one. It's amazing that even with Sturridge out injured, the SaS still lives in one form or another.

That's easy actually.

Suarez----Dannyboy----Sterling (all 3 inter-changeable)

----------Couts---Hendo----------(hendo, up and down)
-------------Lucas----------------

Nowadays, formation is just on paper. Look at Luis. He was Midfield, he was left wing, he was striker, he was all over the place.

Danny plays best when in position to pounce.

Sterling's pace will compliment them both.

You can imagine how much more freedom Luis will get with Defenders having to mark Danny as well.

Then you got Couts who can pick 3 pacy players upfront with his passes.

Problem with that is Coutinho doesn't do as much pressing and hassling as Allen. He needs to be up there linking with the forwards so Hendo will have to drop deeper but in doing so we are missing out on his energetic off the ball runs which creates a lot of space for Suarez.

You forgot Dannyboy is speedy as well and quite good in finding Suarez as well as finishing from far. He brings with him almost 2 or 3 defenders, freeing up Couts in the middle and Suarez at the side.

When our captain comes back, I would love see him doing defensive cover in midfield together with Hendo and see how it turns out. Afterall, he came out as a Defensive Midfielder first before converting into attacking one.

With Steve, if perfectly fitting into defensive midfield, we have 3 pass master to play with 3 pacy finishers. That makes us absolutely delicious.

*
One thing for sure is we have options. With everyone performing, they are gonna continue pushing each other to perform even better.

Suarez is unstoppable. What a way to celebrate a new contract. Credit also to Henderson for his 2 assists. The lad has been a revelation since Stevie got crocked.

Martin Skrtel should change his name to Shrtel. We all know he has the nasty habit of grabbing the jerseys of opposing players and I felt Cardiff should have been awarded a penalty.

We hit the post 3 times today which is a shame. Wonder if McKay gets the axe

So who is the man of the match?

Watch the goal highlights, the first flick/cross from hendo is good, as for the back heel, its kinda normal. But the Sterling goal, it came from Hendo too, that kind of pass I can only always see from the like of Sneijder and Kaka, now that's impressive. Passing from the right side of the right leg, Sneijder always did that, and its exciting to watch. drool.gif

Suarez could just finish off the 2nd goal, but he passed it to Sterling instead... notworthy.gif

Definitely Suarez. Yes Hendo got himself 2 assists but those 2 assists still left Suarez with a lot to do and he struck both shots brilliantly.

4 or 6 points out of the next two games will mean that lfc should aim for title.

January reinforcements can help the squad with gerrard and sturridge still to come in.
I feel rodgers is assembling a juggernaut.

With the next game at Man City, I'm worried for our defence especially how the Cardiff City goal was conceded. Rodgers need to improve his marking system in particular during set pieces.

He is, he is. The way he turns his body and gets the ball away from the defender was just brilliant. thumbup.gif His acceleration is frightening as well. To think that he's only 19-year-old, so so much potential in him. Can't believe that only weeks ago people are suggesting we should ship him off.

On Skrtel.. haha.. boy his hands... he should keepnthem to himself.

On Sterling, what a turnaround. He has been immense these past two gsmes. So happy he proved me wrong.

On Coutinho, he looks desperate to score. Quite greedy at times. Still a nice playmaker.

On Suarez, well. World class. And with zero controversies so far this season, the best in the BPL.

Good win yesterday. 1st half was superb. Really dynamic team as everyone was passing the ball superbly and it was sublime. Beautiful footie. Suarez's first goal was a great volley, 2nd was unselfish and 3rd was another great goal.

Too bad couldn't get a clean sheet though. Imo it was Kelly's fault as he didn't mark his area at the far side. Left Sakho to cover 2 men. Later on Kelly was at fault again as he didn't mark his area from a corner. Fortunately no goal came out from this. I think that Brendan put on Kelly to get him some minutes as Flanno was good. Might not do so again for MC i hope.

As for 2nd half performance, i think that we can all agree that we dropped a gear. Don't mind for this game though as we were already 3 up but we've seen this drop of performance in the 2nd half before. Hope that we did it this time on purpose to save energy or bagi muka to MM as Brendan's ol buddy sweat.gif

Really harsh fixtures next as MC and Chels away in space of 3 days. Brutal and not much time to recover. Because of this i don't favor us to win. Getting 2 or 3 points here is considered decent but we hopefully we'll get 4 or 6 tongue.gif . However as these are away games, they'll still have to come to Anfield for the 2nd half of the season and we can bag them at Anfield to counter this. The season is only half way through and the 2nd half of the season favors us.

City have won all their 8 home games so far. They haven't dropped a point in those 8 games they've scored 35 goals! That's an average of more than 4 goals per game. They have conceded only 5 times. To say it's a tough ask is an understatement. The boys will do well to walk away with an draw but a clean sheet looks impossible.

after this match i realize on some player's performance strength and weakness.. coz against spurs we are just flawless..

Mignolet : great goalkeeper.. only a great at keeping the ball out of goal.. meanwhile his clearance is heart attack ..

Skrtel : Clumsy... his clumsy can make a good thing and also can cause 2-3 penalty like he did on caulker

Sakho : very solid defender and can make penetrate pass.. but it took 2-3 sec to swing his leg while making a pass which is too slow

Johnson : his attack is ok but sometime he drag too long til it's wasted..

Flanagan : very flexible and fit to the teamstyle.. not sure how long he can cope with rising performance.. dont want insua case again, from hot prospect until nothing

Lucas : very good at simple tackle and improved pass but very2 immobile

Allen : quite good at recycling ball.. but the more advance he move the more lost he look

Hendo : he ate gerrard's pill.. but his good only apply on how good is coutin and suarez at the time

Countinho : he is the engineer but when he decide to take a shot you'll know how average he is.. and he is dead on 2nd half which is worrying

Sterling : very2 good at beating a player at pace but when he decide to take a shot rather than a pass, just like coutinho, the ammoshaf will always happen

Suarez : god

--------------------------------------

alberto : should have start coz we may need his talent at 2nd half

kelly : the injury make him average to worst.. completely destroy the team tempo... he should mark the scored guy but he's disappeared at the time

aspas : should have start before we sell him

moses : should have start coz we may need his talent at 2nd half

Johnson for me is 50% fitness issue, 25% inconsistent and 25% brilliant. When on form, he's truly on fire but i don't think he's ever had a full season under his belt. He's been poor the last few games and by poor i mean he's actually looking like the weakest link. His decision making is inconsistent and he seems a bit afraid of his own shadow. Needs to step up a gear or two. I think he needs to someone like Hendo or Kuyt type of player who can give him a bit of defensive support. Sterling and Sturridge do track back but they are more likely to spearhead attacks rather than just providing support like Hendo usually does.

You think that Sakho has slow feet? I'll have to disagree there as i think that passes the ball really well and sometimes he'll get the attack started from the back.

Also regarding Moses, i don't think that he's that good for the team. So far the times that he came on he didn't really look like giving his all for the team. Often times looked lazy and not in the game.

he has pace.. his ball is accurate and has paced too.. he has vision almost as good as agger.. the way he take the shot is slow.. can easily trapped by agrresive opposition ..

we need either moses, alberto, aspas before the market start.. the team look exhausted at 60min onward which is worrying.. and between those 3, none of them look promising coz lack of game time.. last nite 1 of them should have started

I think we have a fighting chance against MCity. They're beasts and will likely tear us apart, even without Aguero they have Negredo and Dzeko. But one weakness which was highlighted today against Fulham was the RB spot. Without Zabaleta and with Clichy filling in...that may be our best chance with Sterling.

In our side, I think Skrtel is a potential problem. The way he was manhandling attackers all night, I'm worried he's gonna easily give away a penalty in this fixture

ManCity is firing all cylinders, lot of goals every matches, particularly at home, played 8 win 8, more than 30 goals scored. Kind of scary for any visitors.
While Liv clean sheet hardly come by.

The only way to get point or points from the coming match against Mancity is outscoring them.
So I don't think it will be a 0-0 match,

A 5-5 scoreline?

Took a quick look at Mohamed Salah's videos and he really looks alot like Sterling type of player. Very very fast but also prone to making decision that is unfortunately "salah". laugh.gif

Hope that if he joins us and he plays along with SAS, he will learn to make decision that is "Betul" and deadly. nod.gif

And dont follow the example of Moses who is all speed but keep making error in giving away possession and never chase back to win the ball after conceding it doh.gif That is simply "Malas" and "Tak Bertanggung jawab"

Skrtel was so lucky to stay on the pitch yesterday and not conceding any penalties or OGs. He was manhandling Caulker all night long and even tried to kiss him at one point. I find it shocking that the ref did not penalize him...we were very lucky i must admit. He might not be so lucky in the future..Its crucial that he tone down this aspect of his play in the next few games.

Injuries to Zaba and Kun will help us a bit. I can see us nicking a win in this game but its going to be tight.

Aggger, Sakho/Toure for City game. The way Skrtel played yesterday, we are gonna concede a penalty every 5 minutes.

Penalty? Even conceding a free kick in a dangerous position could kill us. Anyone notice Yaya's free kick taking this season? Deadly! Skrtel really needs to cut his dirty acts out.

I reckon that Sakho already has better vision than Agger. Agger is good in bringing out the ball with his feet. Sakho has better passing vision.

Run the risk of starting one of our benchers with Cardiff out to prove a point (regarding Mackay)? That could backfire at us. The team was spot on as BR didn't want to risk losing points and i fully understand his doing so. Though i would leave Kelly on the bench and bring on Alberto for Coutinho, instead of taking out Flanno. Alberto did have an assist during the tottenham game but his defending is probably still question marks.

Some fun facts but as if you all didn't know this already lol :-

Luis Suarez is the first player in Premier League history to have scored as many as 19 goals in a side's opening 17 games

I still feel our best CB pairing is Sakho + Agger... Dun quite understand why Skrtel is getting games ahead of Agger..

Having say that, I will be happy if we can get 2 points in match against City and Chelsea... Anything more than that is a bonus..

And if we get 6 points, I would say Liv has a fantastic chance of lifting the title..

I thot it was nice gesture by BR, his support for Mackay, from his interview, his post-match support, and even the match itself. The team definitely step off the gas in the 2nd half...and I personally felt that no point demolishing a Cardiff side, and basically 3 goals is already a comprehensive win, all achieved in the 1st half.

Talk about the 1st half, the type of football we play, its brilliant. Our one touch football is penetrative and some of the flicks are 'to the feet' accuracy. The triangle play is with purpose, and we basically control our penetration, waiting for the right time and right runs by players. Each time we attack there are at least 2-3 players inside the box, and 2-3 more waiting outside, this is essentially how to control attacking football should be played...Our attack is so fluid, that at one time 2 to 3 players could be making a run to pull defenders away..in a way, the 1st half, the way I saw it was we strangled Cardiff to a slow death and we are doing it with a certain control.. And in the 2nd half, I am just as curious why Flanagan was taken off..and then Agger for Coutinho....the only possible reason I can think of is becos Cardiff is bombarding our 6yards with highballs..but why 3 CD, that you have to ask BR...but my gut feeling is telling me that Shitty and Chelski had their scouts in the match yesterday..as such it is need less to preview or give away anything about how we play, to keep an element of surprise, and the cards are safely in BR's chest...

Agger is definitely the better footballer but Skrtel is the more aggressive and physical defender. But if i'm not mistaken Agger is left footed where as Skrtel is right footed. So when it comes to split defense, BR probably wants his CBs to be on their natural/dominant side. So perhaps it's between Agger or Sakho for left CB. And if that's the case, i still prefer Sakho over Agger.
