Amazing pressing. Not recorded as stats yet, how crucial to win a game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJDZn7qyMjAThis post has been edited by kenlimfornication: Dec 18 2013, 10:41 PM

QUOTE(leftist @ Dec 24 2013, 10:19 AM) we juz cant finished off lower teams when they played defensive against us...main reason why we came second that season It was the beachball vs. Sunderland when we started to dip. I will never forget that day.

QUOTE(dillonyong @ Dec 26 2013, 12:32 PM) Lol. Relax. No worries la bro. Won't blame you if non favorable result happen. it was always something I do to lift up the spirit here. But the magic is real now. Because more and more believe in magic of Istanbul. Realistically, nothing we do here will ever affect the team's performance. Ever.

What a game. No shame losing there.
And what a team we have.
Again, Allen and Henderson, the squad players has impressed me.
Sakho...had me on the edge of my seat.

QUOTE(carloz28 @ Dec 27 2013, 11:40 AM) It doesn't matter if we lost by a small margin or a big margin. A 5-0 defeat will always look great if you compare it with a 6-0 defeat. At the end of the day it is the points that counts. For some fans, a 2-1 defeat at Etihad indicates that Liverpool squad is playing on the same level as Man City, some small comfort factor to indulge in, but from my perspective, Liverpool I believe at this point is still inferior to Man City. To get 3 points would have been a huge injection of morale and statement of intent, but nevertheless we still have one chance to show that we are capable of wrestling points from our huge rivals at the Bridge. These games; against our rivals the top 4 challengers, these games are our real Champions League yardstick. A loss is a loss, but there is a huge difference between giving a good fight and roll over plus humiliation. We didn't get played off the park and were really strong at pressing and link ups between the front 3 were giving them trouble. City is a huge team. I'd put my money for them to win it this year and do well in Europe. I think we did well, gutted on Sterling's offside and overhit, but lucky that Skrtel did not concede them penalties.

Also, it was right to replace Coutinho. He looked out of sorts in the 2nd half, but Moses didn't do anything at all!
Impressed with Cissokho's bravery to bomb forward despite knowing that City is attacking his side seeing him as the weak link.

QUOTE(hfi @ Dec 27 2013, 02:04 PM) But he made several crucial blocks, some of them were goal bound. I think the mo for both teams was not to go down preemptively as both sides were quick to capitalize from errors. I guess, blocks, interceptions are not counted as tackles. AHH complications!

JM and Chelsea did really well to contain Suarez or limit the supplies to him. This is where we urgently need Sturridge back to ensure that they have 2 strikers to mark.
I don't usually slag players off, but Johnson was very bad yesterday.

QUOTE(melt @ Dec 30 2013, 05:19 PM) You mean practice more in training right? Seems like that are not confident to shoot from outside the box. From TV, seems possible to give it a try to hit it, instead, they still try to find a pass.

QUOTE(hfi @ Dec 30 2013, 05:26 PM) Coutinho shoots a lot but his accuracy is nothing to shout about. I think Suarez tells him off whenever he shoots lol. Yesterday Suarez gave him a stare after he overhit a through ball. that's why we need to play all 4 of them together.

QUOTE(carloz28 @ Dec 31 2013, 09:44 AM) Would love to see that prophecy fulfilled but if I'm honest, most of the so called prophets nowadays are f**kin' straight up crap talkin' money scammin' no good phoney baloneys. His previous predictions were pretty easy predictions too. The odds were like somewhere like 50-50.

QUOTE(hfi @ Jan 2 2014, 01:02 AM) Just go watch Suarez freekick against Norwich. It's more or less the same thing That's pretty usual from him isn't it. There isn't a goal he scored this season that is average. They all look sensational and impossible. I've always been confident when we have a free kick around the area with SG in the past. Now with LS, I'm even more confident. Not taking away anything from SG, but LS' freekick is superb.

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Jan 2 2014, 10:38 AM) On the issue of Cissokho it isn't as though Rodgers doesn't realise he's not up to par. I mean to bring Flanagan back and play him out of position for the first time in his Premiership career speaks volumes of how Rodgers views the situation at left back. I reckon we may see Kelly at right back with Johnson moving over to left back for our next game. I could have sworn however that I saw posters questioning the exclusion of Cissokho is our loss to City or Chelsea because he had one good game prior. Status quo has been restored. He did well against City but was excluded against Chelsea. BR started Agger instead to counter the strength of Ivanovic I suppose. I guess this is can be an issue of inconsistency.

QUOTE(leftist @ Jan 2 2014, 10:19 AM) SG freekick - kick low as hard as u can LS freekick - up over the wall/low corner with a banana curve as long as it give us goals i dont care how they do it Regardless of how they are taken, fully agreed. SG does score some good mix of free kics as well. I remember there was good curling 1 into the top corner against Aston Villa back in 08/09 or 07/08. Either way, we have some good dead ball specialist. Also want to add that we've greatly improved on attacking corners. We sucked at them and they were as good as nothing few seasons back.
