Linaro which are based on Franco supports it too. If you asked me the double tap2wake, sweep2wake thing is just battery eater. Unless you use pouch or use unlock pattern/password when you put in your pants it sometimes unlock by itself because it detect my leg touching the screen and poaching my balls in the process. Having the phone constantly searching for touch response just eats the battery.

Stock Franco R24 really saves tons of battery, no need to underclock, no need to undervolt. I get 3hr+ SOT with 70% battery left on WiFi

I use TouchControl for long time, these swipe to wake thing does increase battery usage, but quite minimum IMO ( increase 5-10% full day ).
Tap 2 wake does had higher chance of unintentionally unlock your phone while in your pocket etc ( hence I dont use it ), but I never experience issue with Slide2Wake ever 

Franco does saves battery, I always leave if default.

Yeah the slide2wake is less susceptible to accidental unlocking inside pants but still 5-10% is a lot to someone who doesn't have the access to wallplug all day

Whilst I dont think it's gonna offer serious protection, I'm guessing it would be as good as something like the Ringke Slim case, right?

Even though it doesn't offer the best protection out there, it is still a better option than going nekid. Our camera lens are kinda popping out from the device and by going nekid, if it scratches 

This casing seems to offer some protection to that while still keeping the device slim. For the price, I think there is no reason not to get it for those who are not using any casing

As for my purchases,  I bought a generic USD 1 TPU case and a USD3 Ringke Fusion look alike case, both off EBay.

Also waiting for my Nilkin Glass Screen Protector!!

Too bad it doesn't cover the top and bottom.

Already submitted. Looking for black, but only white left. Now need to look for the cover. Not planning to use any screen protector since it is using gorilla glass.
