Will 16GB be enough? That's about 12GB usable for us to use.

I've always been using SD cards for my previous phones so I didn't really have to face such storage limitations. Reason why I may not go for the 32GB version is because it costs a lot more, that's a whooping RM250-300 more and you need to pre-order it which will take maybe 2-3 weeks (I can't tahan already LOL)

So will 16GB be enough for a normal user like me?

I don't plan to store videos/movies on my phone. Just the normal apps maybe a few games and songs. And might take quite a few pictures as well.

p/s: Regarding the new improvements in the speaker grill and buttons of the newer batches, any idea whether local shops like DirectD/Satugadget are already selling the old ones or the new ones?
*

For storage its all depends on YOU. 12GB is plenty if you manage well, I got two big games, GTA III and Vice City with two more simpler game, PvZ2 and Hill Climb Racing with ~100 songs among other things like pictures and only use half the storage.

The new batch also isnt perfect. If you worry about speaker loudness the new 4.4.1/4.4.2 OTA update already fixed it so no need to worry about that.

I'm waiting for 0.2mm made available... Haha
0.3mm is still thick...
*
Its not that thick. The Nillkin curved around the edges, or what some called 2.5D makes it feel like Nokia phones

So it's 3GB+. Pretty big. ty

No it isnt. Formatted capacity alone isnt exactly 16GB. Look at your pendrive or harddrive, is 16GB really means you have exactly 16GB?

Guys, it's not a good idea to keep draining the battery till it's dead then you recharge it, this is not Ni-MH or Ni-Cd batteries. Read about it at Battery University about How to prolonged lithium based batteries.

franco is good, better battery life than stock. I'm now using ElementalX for more extra feature I need, such as sweep2wake, etc...
*
Linaro which are based on Franco supports it too. If you asked me the double tap2wake, sweep2wake thing is just battery eater. Unless you use pouch or use unlock pattern/password when you put in your pants it sometimes unlock by itself because it detect my leg touching the screen and poaching my balls in the process. Having the phone constantly searching for touch response just eats the battery.

Stock Franco R24 really saves tons of battery, no need to underclock, no need to undervolt. I get 3hr+ SOT with 70% battery left on WiFi

I use TouchControl for long time, these swipe to wake thing does increase battery usage, but quite minimum IMO ( increase 5-10% full day ).
Tap 2 wake does had higher chance of unintentionally unlock your phone while in your pocket etc ( hence I dont use it ), but I never experience issue with Slide2Wake ever  rclxms.gif

Franco does saves battery, I always leave if default.
*

Yeah the slide2wake is less susceptible to accidental unlocking inside pants but still 5-10% is a lot to someone who doesn't have the access to wallplug all day

Watch all the drop tests on YouTube and you'll think twice about not getting screen protector.

Even though N5's housing the new Corning Gorilla 3.
Most screens crack on first drop.
In this forum, we already have two victims of cracked screens, both on first drop.
*
Screen protector doesn't protect from drop test, what does mere .1mm of plastic sheet going to do upon drop? People used it to protect from scratch not drop.

Woah, the Rhinoshield video was seriously impressive. It may not help a lot if your phone hits the pavement from the side the phone, but it looks like it will prevent shatter if it's a direct hit.

Just guessing here, but I don't expect the tempered glass protectors to offer anything even close to the protection offered by Rhinoshield?
*
Those are promotional video, so keep that in mind

What a big e-pen** rolleyes.gif All I wanted to convey is that the Nexus 5 is super smooth and you know it because of the user experience with it and not because of what Mr Benchmark A, Numbers B or graph C are telling you. Numbers mean nothing.

Don't know why you are being so defensive though.
*
Agreed. This is phone in the first place. Reviewer test it to gauge objective performance compared to it's predecessor. For us end user it doesn't mean much, other than heating up the phone. It's very easy to get better performance through hacking software wise like some manufacturer do (cough*Samsung*cough) and through custom kernel like overclocking or increase or disable thermal limit so it's useless.

I did a very simple test regarding that, on GPUBench on totally stock setting it get 10,949 points but just by switching to performance governor and increasing thermal limit to 80C I get 12,453 points, that doesn't account for overclocking yet.

That folks tells a good story which whatever SP or case you bought wont protect it from being damaged by human error.

Still, my condolence for your loss. It surely a pain to see a good phone turns out like that.
