Here's my simple setup, trying to keep it minimal and went for a soundbase instead. Nothing too fancy.
TV: Samsung 55" H6700 Amplifier: Soundbase below PLayer: Xbox One & PS4 Started off with the Samsung Soundstage. Quite like how thin and streamlined it is. The surround sound is pretty impressive and sounded quite wide. ![]() decided to check out the Sony HTXT1 as well. Slightly larger/higher but the bass does have the thump ![]() This post has been edited by Kelvw: Sep 19 2014, 12:35 AM |

It has left and right speakers at the front, built in subwoofer and 2 downward firing drives. The sony is a 2.1 ch and the samsung is 4.2 ch.
So far so good, and it's loud enough to rumble the neighbours (in an apartment). But obviously you won't be able to get the full surround experience. Got mine in uk for about £280 (RM1500) |

QUOTE(youze @ Oct 3 2014, 12:36 PM) That's the Sonos bridge and Sonos playbar. The Playbar is used for music / movies / radio and the Synology is my NAS where my movies are stored. My Pivos media player reads off the NAS. The Sarowin HDMI converter converts the HDMI signal from my PIVOS to HDMI + Optical Audio out (supports DD 5.1 - since my TV doesn't output 5.1 to the Sonos Playbar) - HDMI to my TV (Video) and Optical Audio Out to my Sonos Playbar |

Hmm .... well yes and no. I haven't had time to build the exhaust fans yet into my cabinets but basically there are 2 holes at the top and one on the far right to provide some limited ventilation.
My NAS runs on WD Reds which are at least 8-9 degrees C cooler than my previous Seagates. The only thing that has overheated is the UNIFI box but that's a lifetime guarantee ... so not too bothered. All my other devices have survived for about 10 months now .... |

All my other devices have survived for about 10 months now .... you can read the drive temperature if you have access to the drive SMART reporting tool. might be available inside the configuration page. do check it out. |
